Let's move forward to Chris Malette's Nov.21, 2015 Inside Belleville Metroland Media report about health-care cuts being implemented in Belleville, Ontario, where the QHC "admitted that the news was difficult to announce. The restructuring is intended to allow QHC to remove $11.5 million in expenses next year in order to operate within its reduced funding levels from the province. This includes a $7-million reduction in administration/support departments and $4.5 million in patient care areas, QHC said"
This is the EXACT same duplicitous healthcare-cutting template, which the Liberals followed in Niagara!

"Fall is in the air and because it is, that can only mean one thing: Another round of cuts and staff uncertainty at Quinte Healthcare hospitals. To make up for an $11.5-million funding shortfall created largely because Ontario’s Liberal government can’t manage money, jobs and services will be cut at hospitals in Picton, Belleville, Bancroft and Trenton. Money is being spent on debt that people in Prince Edward–Hastings want spent on the services they need in their hospitals.
This morning, we learned that in order to close the $11.5-million shortfall, QHC is proposing a reduction of nearly all surgery services at Trenton Memorial, $4.5 million in direct care cuts and changes that one QHC executive calls “very hard on our staff.”
During the years of this government, QHC has been the recipient of almost continual funding shortfalls from the ministry.
Speaker, if I could, I’d like to direct some comments directly to my constituency back at home: The deficit this government is running is costing you your health care services. QHC has had to come up $25 million in cuts over four years to make up for funding shortfalls because the Liberal government at Queen’s Park doesn’t have any money left. The government says money is going into better home care services but the Auditor General says services are being cut there too to pay for fat-cat salaries.

Yet if one reads only Malette's Metroland Media 'report', one would think - as residents of Niagara were similarly conditioned to believe by their local media - that it was just the board of the local hospital making all these 'decisions'!

Let's note again - before Liberal monopoly-supporting, single-payer-defending sycophants start deflecting blame onto the QHC - that the blame squarely belongs to Kathleen Wynne's health-cutting, monopoly-pushing Liberals.
As similarly happened in Niagara, the NHS and the NHS's CEO were conveniently targeted as scapegoats for implementing what were purely Liberal-mandated monopolist health-care cuts.
In Niagara, local Liberal MPP Jim Bradley sat back and smiled contentedly as the local media spun blame onto the NHS - while all along it was Bradley's duplicitous Ontario Liberal government which created the phony budgets and the phony budget cuts in order to manipulate the health-care cuts.

As Global News (Oct.28, 2013) reported, Kathleen Wynne's Ontario Liberals are denying cancer-treating drug therapy to a Milton, Ontario, mother.

Yes, you read this correctly: this is the single-payer-pushing, monopoly-enforcing Ontario Liberal government of Kathleen Wynne which is denying the cancer-treatment drug Avastin to an Ontario patient.

This is also St.Catharines Liberal hack MPP Jim Bradley who is denying cancer treatment to Ontario citizens. (This is the same Liberal hack Jim Bradley who would like you to believe that... ummm... that it's Mike Harris doing this..!)

But you will NOT hear a peep of concern about this from the Jim Bradley Fan Club (aka St.Catharines Standard). Mayor Brian McMullan just needed to pretend that he 'wanted to know how it happened', but really, Mayor McFullofit didn't give a sh!t about how it happened, neither then, nor now. It was just baseless rhetoric. It was all a show.

(Lafleche himself reported in one of his stories ("C.diff is back: Outbreak in Falls", St.Catharines Standard, Dec.8, 2011) about Sue Matthews at that time saying that 'maintaining enhanced infection control measures at NHS sites will cost about $1 million annually' - and this was above what the 2011 Summer of  Liberal C.diff Death hard dollar costs were. Lafleche reported that Matthews in Oct. 2011 had said that the costs of  that killer Niagara NHS outbreak were estimated at $1.5 to 2 million. Yet, by 2013, Lafleche failed to mention any of that stuff from 2011! When Sue Matthews brought up the spectre of hospital infection cuts in 2013, why didn't Lafleche refer back to his OWN 2011story, and question Matthews about that very same important topic? Lafleche ignored the issue of infection control cuts under Liberal rule, and let it just slide by...)

Ontario Liberals Dalton McGuinty, George Smitherman, and Jim Bradley denied cancer coverage to Suzanne Aucoin, until Ontario's Ombudsman had to investigate the matter; now Liberals Kathleen Wynne, Deb Matthews, and Jim Bradley are doing that again with Kimm Fletcher.

It's the same thing, all over again - it's Aucoin-Redux. It's George Smitherman morphing into Deb Matthews; its Deb Matthews channeling Smitherman. It's Groundhog Day starring health-monopoly hack Jim Bradley. It's Jim Bradley and his healthcare-denying bait-and-switch Deja-Vu Revue. Guess the same Ombudsman will now have to investigate this case as well. At least Andre Marin has seen this health-horror-movie before, and is now familiar with the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals' two-faced tactics.

Niagara's press is surely already developing angles to shield, cover, and divert attention away from their glittering jewel Jimmy Bradley.

"Dear Ms. Wynne:

I am writing you today in regards to Laura Hillier, the young woman in Burlington who, with intense treatment, is currently in remission from acute myelogenous leukemia. She is 18 years of age and just recently graduated in my daughter's class from Nelson High School.

Laura and her family were elated to find out that there was more than one match for Laura to move forward for a stem cell transplant recently. Imagine what that kind of news felt like for Laura and her loved ones! Except that they very quickly found out that Laura would not be imminently receiving the transplant due to a lack of beds. What a blow this must have been to them.

The chemotherapy drug that Laura needs to endure to keep her cancer in remission has already caused permanent damage to her vision. It caused a brain infection that spread to her retina. Having this treatment again for an extended period of time while waiting for a bed seems unruly and cruel to put it mildly and may result in further damage or even worse.

Although I do not know Laura, I know of the worry and struggles of someone battling this horrible disease called cancer.

Through my daughter Meghan, I know that Laura is not only an incredible student but also an incredible person. She has set an example to her graduating class of how life should be lived by everyone. Her positivity, infectious personality and zest for life shaped approximately 400 students at Nelson and as an extension, their families as well.

I have never met Laura but I partially credit her for showing my daughter how life should be approached which is a quality that is invaluable especially as Meghan moves on to university in the fall. As I sit here thinking of all the planning that comes from sending your child off to university, I can't help but think of Laura.

I have always taken for granted that Meghan would go through elementary school, high school and then university and we are fortunate that all of this has occurred. All parents think of this, but that has not been the case for Laura's mom, Frances Hillier. Instead of getting ready for university, Laura is in the fight for her life; instead of Frances thinking about meal plans, supplies she needs and Skyping with her daughter, she is worried that a bed will not become available in time to save her precious daughter's life.

I have read all the articles on wait-lists, the different kinds of stem cell transplants and the "strained system" but that is little comfort to Laura and her family. We are fortunate to live in a country where we pride ourselves on equality and justice for all. We need to do everything in our power to find this young lady a bed so she can move on with her treatment. I implore you to provide the necessary support this family needs to provide Laura the provisions to move forward with her stem cell transplant.

With Ontario's auditor-general now reporting that Ontario has lost almost TWO BILLION dollars by exporting electricity at a loss, when do you think anyone in Niagara will actually bother to question the local Liberals whose government caused this mess?!

The McGuinty/Smitherman/Bradley Liberal Green disaster

Rent seeking
Perhaps the most insidious effect of government interventions in the economy is “rent seeking.” Rent seeking occurs when actors gain a share of economic value through setting the political and economic rules, rather than through innovation or growing economic activity. These efforts create significant distortions in the broader economy, destroying value and economic potential throughout.
Industry structure is an important determinant to whether “rents” can be extracted. Telecom and the airline industry are examples of industry structures that keep economic value in the hands of a few firms, rather than spreading the fruits of productivity to consumers and the broader economy. As the Globe and Mail has pointed out, the structure of these industries has acted as a substantial drag on Canadian productivity.
A specific example in Ontario is when municipalities and the broader public sector are forced into “closed tendering” because of labour agreements. The results are predictable: when only one group has a monopoly on government contracts, the cost of services skyrockets. One City of Hamilton report estimated the extra construction costs due to being forced into “closed tendering” were as high as 40 per cent.
Often, the rationale for granting economic rents is to “protect” jobs and economic activity; the reality is far different..."

Fast forward to July 20, 2013, to Jim Merriam's column in the St.Catharines Standard, "Lots of spin by supporters of turbines", where Merriam writes of how on July 15, 2013 (during the heat wave, hour 17) Ontario's wind turbines were producing 47 MW of power - in other words: they were contributing less than 0.2% of peak demand of 24,025 MW.
It was a paltry, pathetic performance - and a supremely expensive one, at that.
It's funny how Merriam does not bother to  mention that it was Dalton McGuinty's high-school-educated genius George Smitherman, who cooked up this green wind turbine fiasco. These are the numbers which a secretive Smitherman, in his haste to satiate his buddy Liberal colleague Jim Bradley's global-warming Greenfear-mongering, neglected to tell Ontario's taxpayers about.
These nutters went on a bender with their green binge windy fiasco, in order (according to their green delusions) to supposedly 'save the planet from doom' - as seen by Dalton McGuinty's bald-faced GreenFear-induced lies, openly peddled on television to Sean Mallen in 2009.
Merriam, in his July 20, 2013 story, doesn't bother to examine the clear links [evident for over a decade, even before McGuinty's first election] between the subject of his column, and the GreenFear lies spewed by Liberal doom-spreaders such as Dalton McGuinty, Jim Bradley, George Smitherman, and the entire Ontario Liberal Party.

Buffalo N.Y. health-care a solution to Ontario Liberal monopoly failures?

"PORT COLBORNE - Dr. Nick Hopkins recalled a stroke patient who arrived the Gates Vascular Institute paralyzed and unable to speak.
Not long ago, that patient would have spent her remaining years in a nursing home — if she patient survived.
Instead, she walked out of the hospital a day later to carry on with a normal life. One that Hopkins learned recently included participation in a San Diego marathon six months after she was discharged from the Buffalo institute.
“This is the kind of result we can get,” Hopkins said, adding it’s an example of “a whole new paradigm for the treatment of acute stroke” offered over the river.
“Right now there’s no place in southern Ontario where you can get that kind of treatment.”
Hopkins was one of several physicians and health care administrators from Kaleida Health hospital system in Buffalo as well as the University of Rochester Medical Centre who visited Port Colborne Monday to meet with South Niagara Health Care Corp. to discuss the benefits of crossing the border to access medical services that are not available locally.
South Niagara Health Care Corp. general manager Joanne Ferraccioli said that kind partnership is not without precedent.
She said Dr. Gord Vail, a physician from Windsor, worked with the Local Health Integrated Network, the provincial government and hospitals in Detroit to allow select patients to travel to Detroit for treatments not available in the Windsor area.
As a result, she said it has resulted in better outcomes for select patients “and the reimbursement rate through OHIP is actually lower, it’s actually more fiscally responsible.”
Patients are returned to Canada for all their post-operative care, she added.
South Niagara Health Care Corp. is hoping to develop an initiative similar to the Windsor-Detroit partnership to benefit south Niagara and beyond, allowing easier access to medical services in nearby U.S. cities. It would, however, ultimately require approval from the Ministry of Health and LHIN.
“If someone is very sick with a heart attack, you should send them to Buffalo as the closest hospital,” stressed Dr. David Janicke of Kaleida Health.
“It’s extremely important to get your patients … your citizens to an acute care hospital as quickly as possible and if there isn’t one close by, nothing could be better than a hospital that’s 20 or 30 minutes away.”
Hopkins said the Buffalo facility also allows medical specialists to work more closely together to offer better patient care.
He recalled one patient undergoing surgery for a stroke.
“(The patient) had a cardiac arrest on the table. In the old days six months ago, that would have been a Chinese fire drill. We would have been scrambling to find a cardiologist, but now within a few seconds we had two cardiologists in the room barking out orders and taking care of the heart while we went ahead and fixed the head.""

Why is Ole Jimmy not smugly railing on and on about how these Yankees aren't welcome in Canada, the same way Bradley and his buddy Smitherman did when they ridiculously agitated against the U.S. company Lifeline, by 'deputizing Ontarians to stop them at the border'  ?!! Liberal Brad Duguid should explain his gas-plant-closure lies

Further to my earlier post, where I wrote:

"...Brad Duguid stood up in the House at Queen's Park during question period, at the time the Liberals were cancelling the Oakville plant, and stated that Ontario DID NOT need any more power!!!

Will the Standard Bradley Buttlick confirm from Jim Bradley that Duguid was correct, that Ontario doesn't need any more power?!

As the Oct.7, 2010 Toronto Star wrote:
"...After insisting for several years that the plant was necessary because of plans to phase out coal-fired power plants by 2014, Premier Dalton McGuinty’s government said the picture has changed.

Well, we have since seen that Dalton McGuinty's Liberals (in order to buy themselves an election) cancelled two gas plants, and have announced that BOTH gas plants were to be built elsewhere.

We all do know this by now, right?!

So - why isn't anyone asking Brad Duguid about his blatant lies?! (...which is why Duguid's Liberals shut down Queen's Park and ran away: specifically so these Liberals would not have to answer such questions...)


Duguid was quoted in the Toronto Star (Oct.7, 2010) claiming that the cancelled Oakville plant would not be rebuilt anywhere in Ontario - but, as we now know, this was yet another lie in a myriad of lies peddled by McGuinty's incompetent boobs.

Duguid danced around other issues as well: in the Oct.7, 2010 Toronto Star story, Duguid said:
"changes in demand and supply…have made it clear this proposed natural gas plant is no longer required ”  - yet, McGuinty's Liberals announced that they were going to build two new gas plants to 'replace' both cancelled Oakville and Mississauga gas plants - the same two plants whose power, we were told by Duguid, was 'no longer required' in Ontario!!! So Duguid and his Liberals lied about that, too.


And Duguid also clearly said in the same Star Oct.7, 2010 story, that the need for the Oakville plant was "first identified four years ago" - which means this was identified squarely on McGuinty's Liberal watch. It was McGuinty's Liberals who approved the gas-plants, and McGuinty's officials who provided the faulty projections; then, the Liberals lied about it all, then went ahead and moved the plants elsewhere.


(...Read Parker Gallant's Oct.21, 2010 Financial Post analysis, where he makes clear that the Oakville gas-plant's procurement was NOT done by some lowly government civil servant: this had the greasy manic fingerprints of Liberal Energy Minister George Smitherman all over it. It was slippery Smitherman who, in August of 2008, had ordered the OPA to "move expeditiously" to finish the procurement process for the Oakville gas plant by June of 2009 - which is what the OPA then proceeded to do, signing a 20-year deal with Trans-Canada by September 2009. Then, at a hastily called news conference held at Otello's banquet hall in Oakville on Oct.7, 2010, Brad Duguid's Liberals flip-flopped, and cancelled the plant's site... a move that would cost Ontario's taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.) 
So, if the power was not needed in 2010 (as was Duguid's original lie to justify the cancellation of Oakville, followed by Duguid's next lie that there would be no rebuild elsewhere) why have the Liberals announced that both gas-plants are being built in other locations?!


(680 News, Oct.7, 2010, also reported: "Duguid said demand for electricity in the GTA has dropped since the project was first proposed in 2006, and now, it’s been determined the plant is no longer needed.")
Which leads to the question: are the Bath-and-Sarnia 'replacement'  gas-plants still necessary, or not; and, based on what information? No one seems to know - certainly not McGuinty's Liberals, who are jumping ship like rats.

And let's remember, this whole gas-plant fiasco was set in motion by an even earlier McGuinty energy fiasco, which was his GreenFear-based pledge to close all of Ontario's coal-fuelled power plants; the gas-plants were supposedly necessary as backup because of the Liberal plans to phase out coal-fired power plants by 2014. 

And let's not forget: the "2014" date to close all of Ontario's coal-fired generators was from the Toronto Star story, which conveniently neglected to mention that originally (in 2002/2003/2004) McGuinty's Liberals kept saying that they would shut down ALL Ontario's coal-fired plants by 2007, not by 2014! Remember that, folks?! Upon obtaining power, McGuinty's bait-and-switch Liberals kept postponing the date!!

The 2007 date turned out to be just another blatant GreenFear-induced lie, perpetrated by McGuinty's and Jim Bradley's incompetent climate-doom-spreading Liberals.

The Liberals were well-warned at the time about the folly of their Grand GreenFear-based proposals: McGuinty and Jim Bradley couldn't care less about the warnings, about the predictable damage which their faulty climate fear-mongering would end up causing Ontario's economy.

Yet, in 2012, Jim Bradley and McGuinty sanctimoniously began blaming the opposition (!!) for what the Liberals recklessly did during their own eight years of majority rule, with their disastrous green energy experiments.

So there is your connection:
from Jim Bradley's smug, half-baked green bolshevism in 2002-2003,
to his Liberals' lies about closing the coal plants by 2007,
to their subsequent scramble (due to the inherent incompetence of their green energy schemes) to find replacement power quickly,
hence their idea to build new gas-plants,
which the Liberals later crassly cancelled and moved elsewhere,
but not before cravenly buying themselves an election in the meantime with taxpayer money,
and then, ultimately lying about the whole fiasco,
with the resultant pathetic political spectacle where Premier Liar McGuinty resigned because he was up to his long nose in his own Green Grit Shit.

So, there it is: what brought down McGuinty and caused him to resign, had been fermenting since the beginning, since his heady days even prior to his first election in 2003.

Dalton McGuinty's legacy was doomed to fail from the start, with his absurd [almost detached-from-reality] propagation and bureaucratization in Ontario of the GreenFear-induced climate alarmists' agenda, without regard for its affect upon the economy. It was all a pathetically smug, brash, despotic, irresponsible, and utterly negligent experiment - and now, Dalton's gone, held harmless from accountability or justice, while Ontarians will be stuck paying dearly for decades. It will be remembered that Dalton McGuinty fell on his own green climate-fear-induced petard.

The Liberals began their regime with a load of GreenFear-based lies; it is only fitting that McGuinty's pathetic political career ended with him being caught in his and Jim Bradley's demented Liberal web of GreenFear-induced paranoia and lies.

It's funny that Wendy Metcalfe's St.Catharines Standard gang of BradleyButtlicking Wrong-Righters have not bothered to ask their Green Idol, Jim Bradley, the climatalarmist Kyodiot, about any of this!! (After all: Jim Bradley is only Ontario's Liberal Environment Minister - so what could Ole Green Jimmy possibly know, about any of this, right?!!!) hahahaha

There was nothing in the St.Catharines Standard Bradley Shoeshiner, no investigative reports or interviews regarding Good Ole Jim Bradley, for over a week... and that's the way Warren Kinsella likes it, Wendy!

By Apr.1, 2015, Globe and Mail writer Adrian Morrow wrote a story on the Liberal gas plant scandal, at one point stating that the electricity from those two NEW relocated plants "will have to be piped from those locations to the Toronto suburbs, where the power is needed".

This statement by Morrow is in direct contradiction to what was being reported at the time of the cancellation, in Oct. 2010: Duguid at that time was making it clear (...actually, as we now know, Duguid was lying...) that the power WAS NOT needed!!!

Why isn't the Globe writer Adrian Morrow acknowledging that fact? Is he attempting to now somehow cover up what the Liberals did, and rehabilitate their image??

The phony excuses, peddled by the Liberals as a justification to cancel the two plants, were plentiful - but Morrow should not now be claiming that the "power is needed" while utterly ignoring, and failing to provide into context, that in 2010, Duguid's Liberals were lying through their teeth with the excuse that the power WAS NOT needed!!!

In "Climate-free U.S. debates" (National Post, paper edition, Oct.24, 2012) Climate Depot’s Marc Morano issued a statement on Oct. 23, 2012: 

It is very surprising to see three presidential debates and one vice-presidential debate pass without a single mention of climate change. The answer is clear. The man-made global warming fear movement never overcame having a partisan figure like Al Gore being its public face and suffered from having the scandal-ridden and distrusted UN IPCC as the source of its science.
Perhaps the most important factor in the climate silence in the 2012 presidential race was a result of the forced vote in the House of Representatives to pass a cap-and-trade bill in 2009, which helped fuel the rise of the Tea Party movement in the U.S. No longer could a politician regurgitate the standard global warming claims of consensus and the need to “act” without facing laughter and derision from angry crowds.

Even after McGuinty announced his resignation on Oct.15, 2012, when he claimed with a straight face that Ontario's economy was his Liberals' most important concern (...oh, come on...!), neither the St.Catharines Standard, nor Niagara This Week, bothered to examine Jim Bradley's lengthy record of climate-fear-pushing ideology, or to examine how Bradley's ballyhooed green bolshevism directly contributed to his Liberals' costly destruction of Ontario's economy. Niagara's Liberal-besotted press was too afraid to make the link.


Local Niagara mayors and councillors (many of them Liberal butt-wipers themselves) did "regurgitate the standard global-warming claims", peddling the GreenFear industry's consensus-science/political-science/junk-science (...as I had written yesterday...) and, they did - with all deluded serious urgency - warn/fearmonger us that we 'had to act' on phony and costly GreenFear-induced projects now-now-now to 'Save The Planet From Climate Doom'. Unbelievable.


The St.Catharines Standard knows all about this, since the Standard did its best to peddle such Liberal GreenFear lies without question; and the Standard did its best not to examine, nor laugh with derision or disdain, at the actions resulting from the outlandish climate-paranoia of the GreenFear-infected locals. Remember: we were all told we 'had to save the planet', at any cost: that was Jim Bradley's and his green-kool-aid-drinking sycophants' mantra.


The St. Catharines Standard has never asked their Buddy Liberal Environment Minister Jim Bradley, about why his Liberal government still peddles cap-and-trade, as evidenced on Jim GreenFear Bradley's own Ministry of Environment tax-payer-funded website; Ontarians should spend the time to visit Jim Bradley's toxic website, to see Jim Bradley's Liberal carnival of green bolshevism in all its unsubstantiated, bureaucratic, bullsh!t-laden glory, all paid for at our expense - in more ways than imaginable.

Obama’s domestic commitments to reduce U.S. GHG emissions are no more believable, or doable, than Harper’s.
And yet, when world leaders gather in Paris this December to take yet another crack at developing a global treaty on emissions, Obama will be treated as a saint by most of the media in attendance and Harper, if he’s still prime minister, as an ogre..."

The National Post carried a good editorial "Dalton McGuinty - successful politician, failed leader" (Oct.16, 2012), about Dalton McGuinty's resignation, which McGuinty had announced late in the day on Oct.15.

The Post's editorial nicely summarized McGuinty's years of lies and obfuscation, concluding that the worst thing that Dalton did was abandon the people of Caledonia.

It was no doubt a disgrace - an utter disgusting disgrace, what the cowardly McGuinty did (as a practising "Liberal", practicing in a supposedly-"just society") to the people of Caledonia, to Ontarians, and to the notion of rule of law.

However, I don't think Caledonia was on the same level of deceit, callousness and negligence, when compared to how McGuinty's lies in 2008 about Ontario's C.diff crisis 'being under control' (when it clearly wasn't) directly precipitated the 2011 C.diff outbreak in Niagara, which killed at least three dozen patients.

What McGuinty did in Caledonia (which came to a head in 2006) was bereft of leadership, and morally vacuous; but what McGuinty later did in propagating his C.diff lies...
 (...to hide his health-monopoly from a public inquiry in 2008 - a parallel tactic with the similar scenario in Oct. 2012: run, hide, and buy time when the flashlight is about to be shone on McGuinty's despotic, secretive activities!)
...was criminal, resulting in death.

McGuinty, in 2008, had an obligation - as the unapologetic head-cheerleader of a despotic political ideology which forced a single-payer state-run health monopoly upon Ontarians - to ensure that his state-run monopoly was publicly scrutinized, especially when hundreds of Ontarians had ALREADY died in C.difficile outbreaks throughout the province, under McGuinty's and George Smitherman's watch.

McGuinty, in 2008, personally perpetrated the lie that his Liberal-run health monopoly did NOT need any public scrutiny or inquiry into the C.diff deaths, claiming (falsely) that everything was under control, that the Liberals and their monopolist health organization knew all there was to know about C. difficile, so no troublesome inquiries were needed.

This was what Dalton McGuinty, Ontario's Premier Liberal liar, told us in 2008. This was way worse than what McGuinty did in Caledonia: this led to deaths in Niagara.

If the National Post had remembered McGuinty's 2008 C.difficile lies, then the Post would have been able to add a new and profound perspective to the significance of what happened in Caledonia: it was in Caledonia that McGuinty learned that he could act as a despot; where he learned that there were no serious repercussions to his (non)actions/decisions; where he learned that he would not be held to account for the repercussions of his "policies".

Caledonia crystallized in McGuinty's mind the reality that he and his Liberals could dismiss, lie to, and steam-roller over the people of Ontario, time and time again, fiasco after FLICKING fiasco.

Caledonia was a precursor which emboldened disgusting Dalton's political pathology, later helping this serial liar to non-chalantly create secret G20 laws, or condemn future patients to death, in order to protect his morally-bankrupt health-monopoly from scrutiny.

McGuinty should have been stopped and held to account at Caledonia.

Ontarians let McGuinty get away with it, for far too long.

And sadly, the people of Niagara still let Liberal MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor get away with it, as well.

Impeach McGuinty? Why let Ontario's Liberals off that easily?

In Let's impeach the premier (Hamilton Spectator, Oct.6, 2012) Stephen Skyvington wrote

"Like Brian Mulroney before him, Dalton McGuinty seems determined to take his party down with him

Dalton McGuinty is lucky he’s the Premier of Ontario and not the President of the United States. If he were the President, we’d all be calling for his head and Congress would be preparing Articles of Impeachment.
But as we all know, McGuinty isn’t president, and we don’t have any articles of impeachment or a Congress to prepare them. And after receiving a strong endorsement from his own party at their convention in late September, McGuinty is giving every indication he intends to lead the Liberals into the next election.
All of which boggles the mind, quite frankly. Not since former prime minister Brian Mulroney has there been a politician so vilified as Dalton McGuinty. Type the words “Liberal scandals” into any search engine and you’ll be bombarded by the premier’s legacy. It’s actually quite sobering to go through the list. It would almost be amusing if it wasn’t so tragic.
We’ve had the eHealth scandal. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming scandal. The Samsung deal scandal. The Eco Tax scandal. The Ornge scandal. I could go on and on — one website lists 30 different scandals before running out of gas.
Then we have the granddaddy of them all — the Power Plant scandal. Or as I like to call it, the Seat Saver scandal. For those who haven’t been paying attention, the Liberals announced they were stopping construction on two power plants in order to save some Liberal seats in danger of being wrestled away by the PC or New Democratic parties last year. The seats were saved, although McGuinty’s Liberals were held to a minority government, after having won two consecutive majorities in 2003 and 2007. The cost for this disgraceful, politically motivated decision is $230 million and counting.
Surprisingly, McGuinty has chosen to throw his very capable Energy Minister (and former attorney general) Chris Bentley under the bus. Not only is Bentley taking the heat for this one, he could actually go to jail if found in contempt of the legislature. To his credit, the premier did eventually try to defend his minister, albeit lukewarmly, saying: “These attacks, these threats, this heavy-handed, unprecedented process — using the full force of the legislation against one MPP — these are decidedly not in keeping with the standards and traditions we seek to uphold.”
One question Liberal supporters and backbenchers must be asking is: “How did it come to this?” How indeed. My opinion, as a longtime political operative and former political staffer, is that the Liberals (like all parties who win back-to-back majorities) were the victims of their own success. To use a sports analogy, they started reading (and believing) their own press clippings. Shortly after their second term began, a rot began to settle in. Once that happens, deception and corruption can’t be far behind.
Or to use another sports analogy ... if Dalton McGuinty was the coach of the Leafs, Raptors, Argos or Blue Jays, the fans would be singing in unison by now: “Goodbye, Dalton. Goodbye, Dalton. Goodbye, Dalton. We’re glad to see you go!”
The premier did have the opportunity to make a graceful exit during the Liberal convention last month. But he chose instead to stick around.
Am I surprised? Not one bit.
I’ve never written about this before, but in 1996 then-MPP Dalton McGuinty asked me to drop by his office. I was working for the Ontario Medical Association at the time and Dalton was reaching out to potential supporters. He told me that he was thinking about running for leader of the Liberal Party of Ontario and wanted to know what I thought about that. Nobody gave him a chance. Everybody underestimated him. It was hard to take him seriously. I can’t remember my exact response, but I’m sure I told him to go for it. After all, what difference would it make? It wasn’t like he was going to win.
Now, 16 years later, I don’t expect to be receiving a call from Premier McGuinty asking my advice. But if I did get such a call, I’d tell him it was time. To go. Now."

First off, what utter disingenuous pap from Skyvington, attempting to smear Mulroney by equating him to that scumbag Liberal Dalton McGuinty! Oh, come on, man!! Nice try, but your bias is evident in your first line!

If anything, Skyvington should be looking at a more apt comparison: Liberal Jean Chretien's disgusting scandal-plagued years - that's the proper McGuinty comparator, not Mulroney! Skyvington also could have used the socialist stench of Bob Rae's years as Dipper premier, as a scandal-plagued comparator to McGuinty - but, Skyvington chose not to focus on that socialist-paradise-fiasco either!! hahah

But as far as scandals go, McGuinty's Liberals take the cake for expensive policy disaster after flicking expensive fiasco-laden ideological policy disaster, as mentioned by Skyvington.

I do find it odd, if Skyvington was in some way associated with the OMA in the past, that he today has managed to overlook what I think is Dalton McGuinty's most horrendous crime: the McGuinty Liberal government's direct complicity [as sole managers and funders of Ontario's single-payer health-care monopoly] not to submit their health-care monopoly to a public inquiry, when hundreds of Ontarians were dying in C.difficile outbreaks throughout Ontario in 2008.

McGuinty's Liberals, under George Smitherman, hid from a public inquiry in 2008, while giving Ontarians promises (falsehoods, we would later learn) that the Liberals 'knew all there was to know about C. diff'; that there was no need to 'waste money' on any damn inquiry; that Ontarians didn't need to worry; that Dalton McGuinty and his Liberal gang of serial liars had 'everything under control'...

'Under control' - until 2011, when dozens more patients died in Niagara in another C.difficile outbreak... [under circumstances which should have been previously anticipated and prepared for] ...had McGuity's Liberals not covered-up their health-monopoly from public scrutiny back in 2008.

Dalton McGuinty blatantly lied in 2008 when he publicly stated that Ontario's "hospitals now know how to protect against the spread of C. difficile" .
If McGuinty's state-monopoly-run hospitals were prepared, then, where was this 'protection' in 2011, for Niagara's C. diff patient-victims??!

No-one (...especially from the Jim Bradley-Friendly St.Catharines Standard..!) ever bothered asking McGuinty to explain his false and negligent 2008 reasurrance - even when more patients began dying in Niagara in 2011!!

The St.Catharines Standard couldn't even be bothered to pursue their buddy Jim Bradley for an interview during Niagara's Liberal Summer of C.diff Death.
Instead of covering Jim Bradley, the Standard's disgusting wrong-righters covered-up for Jim Bradley.
With great skill, they managed to make it look like Ole Liberal Jimmy had nothin' to do with all these deaths... nuthin' at all...

[If McGuinty and his Liberals had been somehow 'impeached'  - or better yet, jailed - on this issue, then we wouldn't have had the costly Power Plant fiaso. We could have had more funds for healthcare, instead of having Dalton still here, wasting millions to save the asses of his Liberal gangmembers.]

Maybe Skyvington or some other Spectator reporter can re-examine the direct connection between what McGuinty's secretive Liberals did in 2008, and how that arrogant decision subsequently - and detrimentally - impacted the C. difficile outbreak and patient deaths in Niagara, only 3 years later, in 2011.

After all, Hamilton Spectator reporters Naomi Powell and Joan Walters had already begun this investigation back on July 4, 2008 (...perhaps Skyvington can read it, and ponder this story's sad, long, deadly arc (which is still unresolved today, in 2012) while the Liberal perpetrators walk around scot-free, still in power...) A lot more has been revealed about McGuinty's operating procedures since 2008 - so, where is the follow up on this story?

You can bet that no Niagara press, such as the St.Catharines Standard, will bother looking into that! If they can't somehow blame harris, or Diefenbaker (or Mulroney - eh, Skyvington?!) then, they're not interested. The point is not to make Liberals look bad.
The local Niagara Liberal MPP, the disgusting Dishonourable Jim Bradley, literally disappeared from public view  in 2011 while scores of C. diff patients were dying in Bradley's own Liberal-monopoly-underfunded hospitals.

All these other Liberal scandals were about wasted money and Liberal lies - bad enough, yes, to boot McGuinty out of power - but... McGuinty's secrecy, and outright callous brute-force state-monopolist thuggish response in regards to the C.diff outbreak already underway in 2008, ended up costing other Ontario patients their lives in 2011.

McGuinty going now, or not going now, should not absolve him, or his Liberal majority government's health-monopoly-pushing ministers, of their direct role in the deaths of those Niagara patients.

McGuinty and his Liberals, such as Niagara MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor, pushed a single-payer monopolist health-care utopia when they were campaigning; then, when elected, they were negligent in not submitting their monopoly to a public inquiry after hundreds of C.diff outbreak patients had already died - under the Liberal's own watch.
Ontario's Liberals played politics with their health-care monopoly, and they decided instead to hide their monopoly from scrutiny, even when they knew the risk that subsequent patients would die. This was a perverted Liberal ideological decision, where Liberal politics were prioritized above patients - patients who were forced into and stuck within a no-choice, state-run health-care monopoly.
In other words - this was a brutal and deadly example of Liberal healthcare duplicity.
