It's funny how the St.Catharines Standard Bradley Bootlicker had absolutley no coverage of the Niagara LHIN's pathetic healthcare performance, as was outlined in a Feb.19, 2013 Hamilton Spectator story.
The Spectator story noted that "during the most-recently reported quarter, the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant LHIN registered either the second-worst or third-worst performance out of 14 LHINs in each of the three categories".
Isn't it funny that, say, the Standard's Don Fraser wasn't immediately sent out in the rain on his waterskis to interview Niagara's Liberal healthcare-monopoly-pushing-hack, Ole Jim Bradley, for his comments on his Liberal health-care monopoly's abysmal record!
Isn't that what would have happened, had some Conservative been our local MPP?! Sure it would have!!
If it was anyone else but Ole Liberal Jimmy, Wendy Metcalfe's self-appointed laughable wrong-righters would have been falling over themselves to ambush the politician and demand answers!!
But, hey - this is Ole Liberal stalwart MPP Jim Bradley were talkin' 'bout, after all: Niagara's local press is loathe to ask their BestBoyJim anything, especially if it means it might make Ole Buddy Jimmy look bad.
Niagara's pathetic excuse for reporting, known as the St.Catharines Standard, ignored the LHIN report!!
How many days will it take for the Standard to contact their buddy Bradley for answers??! [nothing yet, by Feb.25...!!]
What, are Standard staffers holding marathon midnight meetings, trying desperately to craft and assemble a puffball question or two, sanitized enough so as not to only make Ole Jimmy look good even in these circumstances, but to create the impression that Ole Monopolist Jimmy really has nothing whatsoever to do with this - with any of it!!
So, go to it, Bradley Shoeshiners!! Get your rhetorical can of partisan paste out, and lovingly start rubbing Bradley's boots!!
And remember: just don't tell sicko Michael Moore about any of this, and, don't dare ask Liberal MPP Jim Bradley for answers about why, as the Spectator reported -
• The HNHB [Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant] LHIN had the second-longest 90th percentile wait time (33.4 hours) for ER patients admitted and the second-longest average wait time (16 hours) in the province. The Mississauga-Halton LHIN had the longest waits in both cases.
or why
• At Greater Niagara General Hospital, one in 10 ER patients eventually admitted to a hospital bed waited at least 51 hours in the emergency department
or why
• At St. Catharines General, one in 10 high-acuity patients spent at least 10 hours in the ER.
It is for the best that no one from the St.Catharines Standard demand health care accountability and answers from Liberal monopolists such as Jim Bradley! (Just as it was for the best that the disgusting St.Catharines Standard protected their buddy Jim Bradley and did not bother to pursue him, as dozens of Niagara C. diff patients were dying in Bradley's local Liberal health monopoly!!)
Gosh; over a period of what - two decades? - the Standard has never even been able to bring itself to ask Liberal GreenFear-monger and Environment Minister Jim Bradley for his definitive proof that green bolshevism cures AGW!!
The Standard has never bothered to specifically ask Ole Liberal Jim Bradley to publicly detail when exactly Bradley first learned about his cabinet colleague Bartolucci's secret G20 law!
And - now that we have Kathleen "I know nothing... nooooothhhing..." Wynne, the pantsuited McGuinty surrogate, telling us that she was never at any cabinet meeting where McGuinty's clandestine 'Project Vapour' gas-plant/vote-buying scheme was being discussed - the St.Catharines Standard will most certainly not bother to ask Niagara's vapourous ole Jim Bradley whether Ole Jimmy was there at McGuinty's cabinet table for those Bond-villain-esque Project Vapour meetings!
So, why would the Standard's LiberalFriendly reporter/stenographers bother to ask MPP's Jim Bradley or Kim Craitor about 51 HOUR WAIT TIMES in their own local Liberal-run local healthcare monopoly?!!!

The emotional health-care terrorism of Jim Bradley's Ontario Liberal government
Further to earlier posts here, here, here, here, here, here, here...
...don't tell sickos Michael Moore or Ole Mike Dukakis, or Babs Yaffe and her frothing Shona Holmes-haters, about this Dec.5, 2012 Toronto Star story!
While we're at it: don't tell Ontario Liberal health-minister Deb Matthews about it, and for gaia's sake, don't ask global-warming greenfear-monger and single-payer health monopolist, Liberal MPP Jim Bradley about it, either.
And DO NOT ask any of those pathetic Liberal chumps, who are eagerly vying to become Liberal leader (and therefore Ontario's next premier) to comment about this case!! Don't want any of those phony-'Liberal renewal' peddlers to dare commit to any non-party line about healthcare!

As Jim Rankin wrote in the Star story:
"...Hajinian and her brother were amazed by the level of care [in the United States] and both feel her case highlights a major problem with health care in Ontario and Canada.
Despite a petition and campaign to get her help, including pleas to MPs, MPPs and a package Babikian personally delivered to Premier Dalton McGuinty, the system, in this case, did not deliver in a timely fashion, says Babikian.
“We never heard anything from them,” said Babikian.
With all of the money spent on health care in Canada, they don’t comprehend why they had to put so much effort — for so long — into a futile hunt for specialized help in Canada.
The quest for care has taken a toll. Her husband suffered a minor stroke and caring for her has stressed the extended family.
“We don’t want any more Ontarians to live through the hell that we lived through for the last 13 years,” said Babikan. “Why do we need to put hard-working Ontarians and their families through, to be honest, what is emotional terrorism by our own government. This is not a third-world country where you hear of such stories.”
If all goes as hoped with her recovery, the money spent on her surgery may actually save Canadian taxpayers the added long term health care and other costs that Hajinian most likely would have racked up without the surgery.
“Our health care system needs a serious revision, serious reform,” said Babikian. “I don’t understand how these bureaucrats make these decisions.”
Hajinian says she heard from more than one Canadian doctor that the U.S. doctors would do the surgery just for the money.
“But why would they risk their reputation for a $30,000 surgery?” wondered Hajinian. “It wasn’t for the money. They provided the service and they were concerned...”
Ontario patients did not hear back from McGuinty's Liberals?!!!! Where oh where were McGuinty's Liberals hiding?! Hiding is what McGuinty's Liberal weasels do best!!
No one really understands how Ontario bureaucrats in McGuinty's Liberal health care monopoly "make these decisions", even at HSARB!!
McGuinty's Liberal monopolist hacks DID NOT and DO NOT want ANY serious revision or reform to their disastrous health monopoly!!
They immediately (with their friends at the Toronto Star and the St.Catharines Standard Bradley Bootlicker) attack anyone who suggests any kind of healthcare reform for Ontario!! [It's amazing to even see the Star carrying this story, seeing as the Star, like the St.Catharines Standard, naturally, vehemently advocates for the Tommy Douglas status-quo and against what patients themselves are saying!!]

When Babikian talks of emotional terrorism by "our own government", let's remember, this refers to Dalton McGuinty's Liberal government in Ontario. This is what Liberal Healthcare Duplicity is all about!!
This also includes pathetic Liberal hacks like Liberal MPP Jim Bradley, who is a stalwart anti-patient-choice statist, a smug single-payer monopolist, and an American health-system-hater, who for decades has sneered with contempt at the U.S. health system.
Monopolist Bradley never advocated any serious reform of his health monopoly; Bradley could care less about what to him are meaningless anecdotes from the Hajinians or the Kapurs or the Bradys of Ontario. To Ole Monopolist Jimmy, such patients are but little glitches, mere footnotes, irksome anomalies, minor inconveniences, in Bradley's Great Liberal Radiant Healthcare Future!!
Liberal MPP Jim Bradley will keep kissing Tommy Douglas' ass, no matter how many Ontarians are threatened by Bradley's ideologically-perverted health policies.

Buffalo N.Y. health-care a solution to Ontario Liberal monopoly failures?
Further to this previous post here ...
... where is the vociferous left-wing opposition to this cross-border health care proposal?!!
As Allan Benner wrote in "Cross border hospital services pitched" (Welland Tribune, Nov.26, 2012):
"PORT COLBORNE - Dr. Nick Hopkins recalled a stroke patient who arrived the Gates Vascular Institute paralyzed and unable to speak.
Not long ago, that patient would have spent her remaining years in a nursing home — if she patient survived.
Instead, she walked out of the hospital a day later to carry on with a normal life. One that Hopkins learned recently included participation in a San Diego marathon six months after she was discharged from the Buffalo institute.
“This is the kind of result we can get,” Hopkins said, adding it’s an example of “a whole new paradigm for the treatment of acute stroke” offered over the river.
“Right now there’s no place in southern Ontario where you can get that kind of treatment.”
Hopkins was one of several physicians and health care administrators from Kaleida Health hospital system in Buffalo as well as the University of Rochester Medical Centre who visited Port Colborne Monday to meet with South Niagara Health Care Corp. to discuss the benefits of crossing the border to access medical services that are not available locally.
South Niagara Health Care Corp. general manager Joanne Ferraccioli said that kind partnership is not without precedent.
She said Dr. Gord Vail, a physician from Windsor, worked with the Local Health Integrated Network, the provincial government and hospitals in Detroit to allow select patients to travel to Detroit for treatments not available in the Windsor area.
As a result, she said it has resulted in better outcomes for select patients “and the reimbursement rate through OHIP is actually lower, it’s actually more fiscally responsible.”
Patients are returned to Canada for all their post-operative care, she added.
South Niagara Health Care Corp. is hoping to develop an initiative similar to the Windsor-Detroit partnership to benefit south Niagara and beyond, allowing easier access to medical services in nearby U.S. cities. It would, however, ultimately require approval from the Ministry of Health and LHIN.
“If someone is very sick with a heart attack, you should send them to Buffalo as the closest hospital,” stressed Dr. David Janicke of Kaleida Health.
“It’s extremely important to get your patients … your citizens to an acute care hospital as quickly as possible and if there isn’t one close by, nothing could be better than a hospital that’s 20 or 30 minutes away.”
Hopkins said the Buffalo facility also allows medical specialists to work more closely together to offer better patient care.
He recalled one patient undergoing surgery for a stroke.
“(The patient) had a cardiac arrest on the table. In the old days six months ago, that would have been a Chinese fire drill. We would have been scrambling to find a cardiologist, but now within a few seconds we had two cardiologists in the room barking out orders and taking care of the heart while we went ahead and fixed the head.""
Where's the NDP, trotting out that old chestnut about 'Tommy Douglas spinning in his grave'?
Where's Naomi Lakritz?
Where's Barbara Yaffe?
Where's Mike Dukakis??
Where's Linda Silas to guilt us about our 'national spirit'?
Where's Sicko Michael Moore?
Where's Mike McBane?
Where's Richard Murri?
Where's Liberal-appointed NHS supervisor Kevin Smith, lecturing us all about the "Canadian Way"?
Where's Liberal Kim Craitor, bragging about the superiority of his Liberal monstrous single-payer health-care monopoly?!
Where's Jim Bradley, whining about the dangers of evil, two-tier privatized American health care?! Where's Jim Bradley's rhetorical chestnut, warning us about that nefarious 'Slippery Slope' of 'U.S.-style health-care'?!
{Let's not forget: right now there's a Liberal leadership race going on in McGuinty-prorogued Ontario; yet, none of those Liberal leadership hacks - one of whom will, sickeningly, become Ontario's unelected Premier - has said a thing about this proposal! Isn't now the time for these Liberal leaders to unanimously condemn this proposal?!}
For years, Liberals smugly derided Buffalo's health care system - all the while shuffling Ontario patients to Buffalo and other U.S. cities, because Ontario's Liberal-run health monopoly could not provide patients the required care in their own country!
After all these years of Jim Bradley's Liberal healthcare duplicity and rhetoric; after all of Jim Bradley's anti-American jingoism; after all of Jim Bradley's incessant health-care cuts and health-care tax-increases - Jim Bradley's Liberal single-payer, state-run health monopoly still cannot deliver the Utopian care which Bradley for decades claimed it could.
Why is Liberal loud mouth Jim 'I-hate-doctors' Bradley now suddenly silent, in the face of such dastardly intrusion, unfolding right on Jimmy's own doorstep in Niagara?!
Why is Ole Jimmy not smugly railing on and on about how these Yankees aren't welcome in Canada, the same way Bradley and his buddy Smitherman did when they ridiculously agitated against the U.S. company Lifeline, by 'deputizing Ontarians to stop them at the border' ?!! (see: here pg.44-45, and here, and here, and here and here)
Did the editors of the St.Catharines Standard bother asking their Liberal buddy 'Silent Jim' Bradley about this proposal?! (...of course not!! Jimmy's protected from media scrutiny!!)

Niagara press refuses to ask Liberal Jim Bradley why billions were wasted on fraudulent green energy, while children were forced to travel to U.S. for health care
Further to this recent post ...
...we are all anxious to hear as lefty apologista Naomi Lakritz spits out her anti-patient-choice, pro-healthcare-monopoly venom, to hear her attack children and their parents for daring to go to the United States for health care, in the same way Lakritz attacked Shona Holmes for doing the same thing.
Let's hear Barbara Yaffe yap on about how Canadian families, such as the parents of Liam Reid and Erika Crawford (whom Christina Blizzard wrote about, Oct.25, 2012) should be forced to wait for health care which will never come, because McGuinty's Ontario Liberal single-payer-pushers just decided not to cover the children's required treatments!
Let's hear the proponents of single-payer health-prisons attack even prominent Canadian politicians, who dared to leave Canada to obtain health care in the United States - see here, here, here , here.
Let's also hear the same monopoly-pushers in tandem predictably demonize these health-care-seekers as 'Unpatriotic', as 'Un-Canadian', as 'Traitors to Tommy Douglas'. This is what they do.
Let's watch as the Niagara press, led by Wendy Metcalfe's laughable Wrong-Righters/Liberal Shoewipers, do their best not to dare ask their global-warming-climatalarmist buddy, Liberal Jim Bradley, or the other local Niagara Liberal hack, Kim Craitor, about how their Liberals found billions to blow on fraudulent GreenFear-induced energy experiments, yet, their Liberals wouldn't provide the healthcare needed by two children!
... (and we all know that the Standard would have added another shift of reporters in a giddy effort to track this story locally, had it been a Conservative government in power, and a Conservative MPP in their riding!! But, now that BuddyBradley is in charge... ummm... Jim simply vanishes from scrutiny!)...
Wendy's gang didn't ask Jim Bradley, because whatever Ole Green Jimmy said, couldn't possibly be made to sound good, even though the water-skiier FriendlyFraser could have given it the ole college try, jes fer Ole Jimmy's sake, doncha know. Fraser could have used the same tired lines which Lakritz and Yaffe and Danielle Martin and the rest of the Michael-Moore-infected, medicare-monopoly-fanclub regularly trots out.
Feh - these kids are just another anomaly... right Jim?? Liberal MPP Jim Bradley (Ontario's disgusting Environment Minister) has more important Things To Do, what with having a Planet In Peril to rescue, what with having to Save The Earth From Climate Doom.
Children who need health care can wait, dammit, until Liberals such as Jim Bradley deem they are good and ready to grant it to them.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, officials should issue a public warning to tourists about Niagara's dangerous health-care monopoly
Further to this earlier disgusting episode in Kim Craitor's Liberal-controlled single-payer health-monopoly's franchise in Niagara Falls, Ont., comes another, similarly shocking story at the same Niagara Falls, Ontario, hospital, as Brett Clarkson reported in "NHS apology after mom, 39, dies" (St.Catharines Standard, Jul.22, 2011):
"They said, 'Sorry, you gotta call 911,'" said Jarrett James, 37, Jennifer's brother. "Nobody would come out and help."
"They should've helped, they should've tried, they should've been out there," Eunice James, Jennifer's mother, said Thursday. "Regardless of what the outcome would've been. And it may have been the same. They needed to be out there."
Eunice James was scathing in her criticism of the GNGH emergency department, particularly one doctor whose name she did not know but whom she described as "arrogant."
But she credited the intensive care unit staff with being caring and helpful after Jennifer was moved there later the same night.
"As far as the ICU unit, the two nurses that we had there were absolutely wonderful," Eunice said. "As far as going in there to the ER or anything like that, I think it's just an awful place."
According to the family, Jennifer was in Poisson's car April 21 near the Niagara Falls car dealership where he worked. Reaching her hands up to her face, she began to yell and started having what appeared to be a seizure. They said Jennifer lost consciousness and stopped breathing, so Poisson sped to the hospital.
When he got there, the family said, he ran inside the main front door and was told to go the emergency department. But when he got there, no one was willing to help. So Poisson went back outside and started performing CPR.
After three or four minutes, his son Carson went into the hospital to get help, but couldn't find anybody who would come out.
An unknown woman who did not work at the hospital came outside and told them medical staff would not be coming out of the emergency department.
At this point, they grabbed Jennifer, put her in a wheelchair and pushed her into the hospital, at which point medical staff worked on her.
Although Jennifer was revived, the family was told by a nurse she had gone without adequate oxygen for about 45 minutes. The impact would likely be catastrophic on the brain.
About five days later, the family allowed Jennifer to be taken off life-support because she had only lower brain stem function. She died after about 24 hours, on April 26.
"They said that maybe someday, by a minor miracle, she might be able to blink her eyes," Jarrett said, explaining Jennifer's condition at the time.
"Jen was my best friend, so I am still reeling from this," Eunice said, sobbing.
"It's tough," said Jarrett. "We were very close. I talked to her every day. I miss the phone calls, I miss the banter, the joking around."
Eunice said doctors found Jennifer had an enlarged heart before she went in for minor surgery on neck vertebrae in 2010. Despite that, her neck surgery was a success.
The James' family wanted to make public their GNGH experience after reading media stories about the experience of Niagara Falls Coun. Joyce Morocco, who arrived at the hospital Sunday in a car driven by her husband, John.
While Morocco lay barely conscious and struggling to breathe in the car, her husband ran into the hospital to get help. He was told to call an ambulance. An ambulance was dispatched from the GNGH garage, several metres away.
The James' experience caused Niagara Health System interim CEO Sue Matthews to apologize to the family during the NHS' daily C. difficile press briefing at GNGH Thursday.
"I think what's most important is that this family's grieving, and it's very difficult and I feel for them as a nurse, as a human being … So I can apologize to them, how horrible their experience must be."
Matthews also said staff was told in December they are covered for liability or injury in hospital parking lots — despite the years-long belief among health workers that it's not safe to care for patients in parking lots."
*
Enough of all these trite, useless apologies: IT'S TIME FOR CRIMINAL LEGAL ACTION against the negligent monopolist policies of Dalton McGuinty's Liberal government.
Someone will have to Cellino-and-Barnes McGuinty's irresponsible monopoly-enforcing, anti-patient-choice Liberal government.
This Liberal crap has been going on for too long.
Patients are dying and no-one's responsible for anything.
Where was the Liberal-created LHIN (which oversees the NHS) in all this?
Doesn't the LHIN, along with the Liberal government which completely controls the LHIN, have anything to do with this?
[Why isn't the LHIN giving public daily briefings on the C. diff outbreak, in the way the NHS has - finally - begun doing?
Why isn't MPP Jim Bradley - the loudmouth local Liberal healthcare monopolist - giving daily public briefings on what he has personally done during this outbreak? Jimmy could also answer questions on how his own single-payer health-monopolism, along with his years of despotic, smug secrecy, somehow do not make him culpable in the C. diff deaths in his own city.]
Funny how neither of Niagara's Liberal MPP's - Kim Craitor or Jim Bradley - are mentioned in this report.
(...I mean, gawrsh: what do these Liberals have to do with any of this?!)
The media's joyous narrative is about how Kim Craitor, the 'hero-maverick', is... umm... gonna save healthcare in Niagara!!
Forget about the fact that for the last eight years, Craitor and his single-payer-pushing Liberal monopolists have been secretively and steadily eroding health-care in Niagara! (yes: remember - Craitor is first and foremost a proud McGuinty-supporting Liberal. Craitor at every opportunity pretends that Niagara's Liberal-controlled monopolist health care disaster is somehow NOT political - yet then Craitor sanctimoniously and ominously blames harris whenever he can! Craitor, the devious Grit hypocrite (Grit-o-crite) sloughs off his own monstrous lying Liberal monopolism!!
Patients left fending for themselves in Niagara's hospital parking lots: that's CraitorCare TM for you.
Jim Diodati, the Liberal mayor of Niagara Falls Ont. should be warning EVERY TOURIST that his local Liberal-controlled health-care monopoly has been severely compromised, and that visitors could be taking chances with their lives if they got sick and expected swift care locally in Ontario; it'd be better if they went to the States with an emergency. (see also here)
Even the Niagara Regional government (led by Gary Burroughs - another Liberal, by the way...) has just blamed Niagara's C. difficile outbreak as a reason why thousands of forest-fire refugees from northern Ontario should not come to Niagara, the fear being that Niagara's Liberal-controlled health-care monopoly cannot handle them! As of July 22, 2011, 26 C. difficile infected patients have now died in Niagara's outbreak.
This is the legacy of Liberal George Smitherman folks - and for Liberals Kim Craitor, Jim Bradley, and a lot of Niagara's sanctimonious Liberal municipal politicians - this was and is the epitome of Dalton McGuinty's vision of Tommy Douglas' pipedream socialism. This monopolist-dream failure here - right in Niagara - is exactly what eight years of untouchable Liberal-majority government fascist health-care looks like.
Yet the Kim Craitors and Jim Diodatis think that someone else did all this, and if we only had some busy Liberals fixin' things, if we only had some more despotic socialism... why, then... everything would be all right again... just, ummm, as it was under McGuinty's benevolent, non-despotic rule!!! (say whaaaaat?!? you figure it out...)
No-one's responsible, for anything... oh, yeah, so some patients die here and there, but, so what??!
It isn't any Liberal's fault! (Why, just by reading the St.Catharines Standard and Niagara This Week you'll know that!!)
*
So, once again folks - don't tell Michael Moore about any of this - vote for your local Liberal health monopolist, and vote often!! Liberals: they'll fix health-care!! Trust them!!! Why would a Liberal lie?!

"The family of a Ridgeway woman who died at Greater Niagara General Hospital after no one helped her while she sat dying in her boyfriend's car in the parking lot are outraged and hope nobody else has to go through what they did.
Jennifer James, a 39-year-old mother of two who "loved life," died at GNGH in Niagara Falls April 26, a few days after she was carried into the hospital — not breathing — by her boyfriend Charlie Poisson, his 11-year-old son, and a still-unknown woman who stepped up to help when hospital staff wouldn't."They said, 'Sorry, you gotta call 911,'" said Jarrett James, 37, Jennifer's brother.

Another Niagara health-care horror? Just don't ask Jimmy 'bout that...
Read this and weep:
CLICK PHOTOS TO ENLARGE!So here's another Niagara health-care horror story: it took FOUR DAYS for an Ontario patient to finally receive surgery after one of his fingers was almost severed in a work-related accident.
Yawn.
Who cares?
What whiners.
This is just another minor anecdote, a minor little hiccup, just a little misunderstanding, which cannot blemish the Great Glory That Is Tommy Douglas' Shining Medicare Future. (Well, that's what McGuinty's Liberals will tell ya...)
There's no traction in this story which can be used to blame Harris, y'see... therefore, no one will give a damn.
Even though Reg McLean's above letter appeared in Niagara This Week on Mar.10, 2011, neither editor Williscraft nor any reporter followed-up with an actual report on this shocking health-care failure right in Niagara.
Even though Christina Blizzard talks about how funny Good Ole Jim Bradley is, no one in the media will EVER demand that Jim Bradley provide an explanantion for what happened to this patient in the Liberal-run health-monopoly hospital in Bradley's own back yard.
Liberal MPP Jim Bradley couldn't give a damn.
Neither could Liberal Kim Craitor.
As for Liberal Deb Matthews: why, she's very proud of what her Niagara health monopoly is doing.
There's no problem here, folks... Father McGuinty would like you sheeple to move on along now...
Amazing that there was this combination of no surgeon and/or no facilities being available for this patient anywhere in Niagara. Why wasn't this patient told to just go across the river to the States: Buffalo, thankfully, is fifteen minutes away: that's better than waiting four days in Liberal Ontario's health-scare monopoly. Just don't tell Michael Moore, though...
I guess in Liberal McGuinty-stan, the patient-sheeple must do their best to stay within the demands of the monopoly, and only get sick or hurt during normal business hours, whatever those are...
Funny how on New Year's Eve thousands of people were gathered in Niagara Falls Ont. for a concert - what kind of health-care capacity was planned and available had a major calamity occurred there?
Why isn't anyone in the Ontario press asking James J. Bradley about this?
Bradley, frighteningly, is McGuinty's Public Safety minister, after all: isn't this a public safety issue? Bradley's Liberal-run health monopoly couldn't even handle this one patient's needs - what would they have done if a major multi-trauma emergency had happened in Niagara Falls, Ontario?!
Why isn't secretive Liberal Jim Bradley answering any questions regarding this patient's situation, and how it related to the Niagara health monopoly's hospital preparedness in general during this timeframe of Dec.29, 2010 - Jan.2, 2011?
Why didn't Liberal Jim Bradley and Niagara Falls (Liberal) mayor Jim Diodati issue a public warning advising visitors to Niagara Falls, Ontario that the possibility of getting health care was severely compromised?
Did these officials neglect their duty to warn visitors that health-care MIGHT NOT BE AVAILABLE on the Canadian-side of the Niagara region?
Or do these clowns think that forcing one patient to wait four days to have his hand sewn back together is no big deal?
Why didn't Niagara's Regional health officer issue any kind of public warning or concern, that health care services may be compromised, may be MEAGRE-TO-NON-EXISTENT in Niagara?
Will Niagara Regional Council bother to demand that their health officer investigate this incident?
Will Liberal hack Jim Diodati call for an ombudsman's inquiry into the health-care failure in his own city?
Will St.Catharines mayor Brian McMullan take his hand off his multi-million-dollar-spending-bulldozer to demand answers about the failures in the Liberal under-funded health care monopoly in his city?
Are Niagara's officials so utterly blase about the pathetic state of monopoly health care, that they cannot even bring themselves to question Liberal MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor, who are the political perpetrators of this single-payer horror?
So dear sheeple, please don't ask Jim Bradley to explain anything! (Unless it's obliquely meant to blame the Conservatives, in which case Ole Jimmy'll be glad to answer...) .
We certainly can't expect Niagara This Week or the St. Catharines Standard to dare ask Jimmy 'bout any 'o dis stuff - especially when Jimmy's busy helping his Liberals get re-elected!
So watch closely folks: watch as your elected officials circle their wagons to protect their Liberal friends and their failed Liberal ideology; watch as they completely ignore Reg McLean's letter; watch as they solemnly DO SWEET F*CK ALL to explain the systemic single-payer failure that is Niagara's and Ontario's pathetic health care monopoly.
Watch as Niagara's polticians and Niagara's lap-dog leftist press pretend that nothing happened here... and ... uh... if something did happen, well, then, it was nothing that couldn't be cured with just a bit more socialism...

Jim Bradley's dreadful silence regarding his Liberal Mess at the NHS
Frank Iker wrote in "Dreading going to ER" (St.Catharines Standard, Feb.5, 2011) about the "disconcerting" 8 1/2-hour wait time at the NHS's St.Catharines ER, seeing that the provincial "benchmark" is supposed to be 4 hrs. (don't tell Michael Moore)Iker asks "What is our local Niagara Health System doing to improve our emergency health care?"
Interestingly, Iker DOES NOT ask the much more relevant questions of:
- what is our Liberal-controlled LHIN doing to improve emergency care?
and
- what is local Liberal health-care-cutter Jim Bradley doing to "improve" emergency care?!As if it is not pathetic enough that the McGuinty Liberals' role in the ER closures was completely glossed over in Grant Lafleche's previous article, (which Iker was responding to here); but Iker himself seems to miss the point as well! There was no mention of any Liberal role or responsibility in Iker's letter, either!
Wow: it's as if McGuinty's Liberals had nothin' to do with these here wait-times and ER closures and budget-cuts! hee hee!
The NHS is in deficit 'cuz... well... they're just wastrels wallowing in cash, as Smitherman once said; Liberal underfunding of the NHS had nothing to do with it!! ha ha ha ha!
(We all know [!] that it was now-fired-NHS-CEO Debbie Sevenpifer who not only personally caused the long NHS health-care wait times, but also the deficits!! Yes she did! har har har! All by herself!! Yep!! Liberals had nothing to do with any of that!! Nothing... ya hear?!)
That McGuinty's secretive Liberal government enforces a despotic health monopoly in Ontario, and that local Liberal strongmen Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor are staunch single-payer monopolists, apparently has no bearing on the issue!
When McGuinty's Liberals export patients to Buffalo for health-care that (strangely!) is unavailable in Liberal-monopoly-controlled Ontario, so what that McGuinty is sending patients to the same Buffalo hospitals which would be illegal if they were located across the river in McGuinty-stan?! What's that got to do with it, right?!! hahhaha
We must not pretend - whether purposefully, or through Bradley Syndrome - that Jim Bradley's Liberals are somehow disconnected, and are held harmless, from responsibility for their monopolist Mess at the NHS.
The Liberals must be held fully accountable for what happens in their state-controlled health-monopoly.
The Liberals fully control the LHIN's, which fully control the NHS; Bradley and Craitor are Liberals.
It's dreadful that many Ontarians fail to recognize that.

Obamacare - unconstitutional?? Who knew?!
Remember how the local Canadian press and leftist monopoly-pushers gobbled up and propagated Obama's grand health-care plans?
Amazing how now, when Obamacare has been declared unconstitutional, forcing it to a Supreme Court challenge, you can't find a single mention of these developments over at the St.Catharines Standard!!! Amazing how the Democrats' bait-and-switch health-care tactics in the States are now being, umm... 'overlooked' by the local press!
Waivers are being granted to millions of workers so that they could opt out of , ie, not be hurt by, Obamacare! Costs are going up, not down. Calls are being made for Obama's impeachment!
Why should any Canadian Obama-booster write about that?!

Buffalo N.Y. is now part of McGuinty-stan
Ontario's Premier Lying Liberal Dalton McGuinty has arbitrarily declared Buffalo N.Y. an honourary Ontario city, in some kind of bizarre attempt to show his support of the Canadian Juniors hockey team (Guess that McGuinty, ever the political opportunist, wanted to latch onto the popularity of the hockey series; but, as usual, anything these Liberal slimebags touch turns into a disaster... was Ole Jim Bradley in Buffalo for yesterday's game?!)
Anyway, next on the Liberals' takeover list - after declaring Buffalo as part of Canada - is Dalton McGuinty giving Ontario's health minister Deb Matthews the authority to charge all Buffalo, Ont. hospitals with violating the Canada Health Act, and of breaching Smitherman's Commitment To The Future of Medicare Act; now that they're in Ontario, all of these medical facilities will be found guilty of operating illegally.
Then, McGuinty's Ontario Liberals will nationalize all Buffalo medical institutions such as ECMC, Mercy and Kaleida's medical branches...
Looks like slick Ole McGuinty has found a new way to rationalize his patient-export policy, where Ontario patients are sent [or forced on their own] to another country for medical care which mysteriously can't be found in Ontario's Liberal state-controlled, single-payer, universal health-care monopoly.
McGuinty's got the solution: make Buffalo part of Ontario - problem solved!

Jim Bradley's climate snowjob
Isn't it wonderful to read in the Toronto Star, Dec.14, 2010 about how Liberal MPP Jim Bradley is looking after the interests of Ontarians?!
Yep, how about that - another snowjob from Jim Bradley!! Good Ole Jim Bradley - Ontario's Liberal green bolshevik global-warming climate-change fear-mongerer extraordinaire - is now graciously letting us know that hundreds of Ontarians - stuck on highways which have been closed due to all that ahem white global-warming around Sarnia - have been rescued.
Yet Jim Snowjob Bradley is one of those greensheviks who [along with David Suzuki, Al Gore, Stephane Bumbledore Dion, and Michael Moore] have been telling us that the earth is melting; the sky is falling; the floods are coming; the end is nigh! Bradley believes that global warming is one of the greatest threats to mankind!! In his global-warming delusionary state, Jim GreenFear TM Bradley - when he was McGuinty's Liberal Transportation Minister - even tried to blame global-warming for causing rust!!
Ironic how Liberal Kyodiot Bradley has to now explain why people have to be rescued from cars stuck on snowed in highways - where one person died. (It's just an 'anomaly', right Jim?! Snow is a 'climate extreme' now, eh, Jim, morphed from the a-bit-too-specific "global-warming" which you and McGuinty were peddling several years ago. Now it's 'climate change' - whatever that means!! You can bet that the Toronto Star sure won't be bothering to ask Good Ole Jimmy for his definition of 'climate change'!)
Kyoto-pusher Bradley still hasn't bothered to publicly reveal the pseudo-scientific evidence he was using to goad us into the idiotic Kyoto mess!!
C'mon, there Jimmy, you can tell us - was it that Mann-made hockey-stick graph which you tried to snow-job snow-bound Ontarians with?!

Why not charge McGuinty's Liberal health-care monopolists with manslaughter?
After reading Tanya Talaga's story "Woman dies as ER waits continue" (Toronto Star, Dec.6, 2010) about Ontario Auditor Jim McCarter's latest findings regarding McGuinty's disastrous monopolist health care system, it seems like this is all a repeat of the same old things from Liberal health care disasters past, from previous reports by McCarter going back years; it's like the Groundhog Day of health care: same health care horror story, another year later.
Somehow, Dalton McGuinty along with George Smitherman and David Caplan, and now Deb Matthews, were able to just slough all of this off, year after year.
So what that a patient died waiting in the hospital emergency room!? Just don't tell Michael Moore about how Tommy Douglas works, and all will be be fine.
The Liberal-voting sheeple of Ontario will soon forget about this latest indictment of Liberal health care incompetence, and be told to view the Liberals as they should be seen: which is as being the saviours of health-care!! Yep, read that again - it's exactly what I meant: the Liberals have nothin' to do with any health care problems; and magically, the Liberals will fix all the health care problems which someone else - not them; not ever them!! - caused.
(What are the chances that the St.Catharines Standard tomorrow will have nothing to say about, or bother to obtain comments from, local Liberal MPP Jim Bradley, regarding McCarter's report?! Chances are pretty good that the Standard's Jim Bradley Fanclub will faithfully perform the Bradley Hindlick Manoeuvre and keep Good Ole Jimmy outta this; after all, what's Ole Jim got to do with any of this - right?!)
Let's look at a recurring issue that McCarter mentions yet again in his 2010 report, about there not being enough hospital beds. The bed shortage in McGuinty's Liberal health care monopoly is not news - this has been known by the McGuintyites for years - see: Time to debunk Liberal health care myths.
Remember Dalton McGuinty even smugly telling us in 2006 that more hospital beds weren't in the cards for Niagara? see: Sadistic Liberal health care in Ontario
[... Also see:
- St.Catharines Standard still protecting Liberal Jim Bradley
- No beds available: Go die at home
- Patients forced to wait a day in underfunded ER, while MPP Jim Bradley says nothing about Liberal monopoly health-care failures ...]
And don't forget when St.Catharines mayor Brian McMullan pompously promised in 2007 that he'll press hard for more hospital beds! hahaha!
So, which part of Jim Bradley has McMullan been pressing for the last three years; where are the beds?!
McMullan and Bradley have by 2010 dumped millions of tax dollars into expropriating land and building an arts centre in St.Catharines, appropriating money that should have been prioritized for health care.
This Liberal health care duplicity must be stopped.
When Ontario's auditor continually finds the same systemic health care problems, year after year; when Liberals underfund their unreasonable, ideologically-enforced single-payer health monopoly; and when patients die as a result, then McGuinty's Liberal cabinet of health care monopolists should be charged with manslaughter.
That seems to be the only way to make these Liberal FLICKERS accountable. They knew or should have known that their health care duplicity - in enforcing a health-care monopoly which they then underfunded - would have serious repercussions.
After reading years of Ontario auditor McCarter's reports as evidence, it is now obvious that the Liberals DID know, and banked on Tommy Douglas to cover for them. (While we're at it, charge Tommy Douglas with manslaughter as well.)
McGuinty's health minister George Smitherman even admitted that 'Ontario can't do it all' (St.Catharines Standard, Aug.11, 2005) yet, he nevertheless continued to force his state-run health-care-monopoly onto Ontario's patients.
And when patients die waiting for Tommy, no Liberal is held accountable.

Jim Bradley's horrific healthscare monopoly
Further to the subject of my earlier post "Another health care horror story in Niagara", we see that Jim Bradley's Liberal health-care nightmare continues for Niagara's patients, as Christina Blizzard wrote in "A health-care horror story in Niagara" (Nov.27, 2010):
"When Guy Simpson woke up with a bad headache in January, he thought his sinuses were acting up.
Two weeks later, when the headaches got worse and other symptoms appeared, the Fort Erie resident went to his family doctor.
He sent him to an eye doctor, who sent him for a CAT scan in Niagara Falls. He was told his symptoms were neurological and he needed an MRI.
On Feb. 2, Simpson, 49, was given an MRI date of April 15.
With the help of a friend, he managed to push up his appointment with a neurologist from April 1 to Feb. 23.
By Feb. 9, he was bedridden and in unbearable pain.
His family doctor tried to get an emergency MRI at St. Catharines General Hospital and sent Simpson to the ER with a note.
In St. Catharines, Simpson was told his family doctor didn't have the authority to order an MRI. He was told he had a head injury and the condition would improve on its own.
Meanwhile, another doctor managed to move his MRI date up to April 1.
When he got the results April 6, he was told he had a large, possibly cancerous tumour around his pituitary gland compressing the nerves in his eye and extending into his sinuses and wrapped around his carotid artery.
His doctor pushed for an appointment with a neurologist for a body MRI to check for the spread of cancer. The earliest date for that MRI was in August. He got an appointment with the neurologist for April 28.
He was told by the neurologist he needed surgery, but no date was set.
By May 18, Simpson started to have trouble breathing. His wife wanted to call an ambulance, but worried they'd end up sitting in the St. Catharines ER for hours, so she called his doctor, who had him admitted immediately to Hamilton General Hospital.
He had an MRI and a CAT scan within hours. He'd been bedridden for weeks at this point.
He was scheduled for emergency surgery, but it was cancelled three times.
"The way it was explained to me, I was critical but I wasn't at the priority of the critical list, so they were taking priority patients ahead of me.
"It was a 10-day wait before I had surgery," he told me in a phone interview.
On May 26, five months after his symptoms started, surgeons removed a large portion of the cancerous tumour. He came home June 4 and was told also he had an aggressive form of lymphoma and had only weeks to live.
"If I'd had the MRI earlier, which the first couple of doctors I saw were pushing for, I feel I would have been diagnosed earlier," Simpson said.
"I don't think it would have got into my lymph nodes and spread to the rest of my body."
So far, though, he's beating the odds.
The Liberal government has gutted health care in the Niagara Region. Beds have been closed, ER departments either shut down or turned into walk-in clinics.
Simpson read a recent column I wrote about patients being sent to Buffalo for neurosurgery. He wasn't offered that option.
We brag about our universal health-care system. When that universe doesn't include places like Niagara, you have to think this is a health system that's on the ropes."

Funny how Jim Bradley can't be found for a comment... you can just imagine, though, the indignant uproar which would have erupted from sanctimonious Ole Jim had this happened during Harris' tenure!!
But now, miraculously, this has nothing at all to do with Jim Bradley!! Now, Ole Jimmy's done been vanished, guldarnit.
Where is Good Ole Jimmy's response to this story, which has revealed yet another example of his Liberal health-care monopoly's failure?
These Liberal health-care horror stories keep on piling up, sequel after grisly sequel.
Secretive Ole Liberal MPP Jim Bradley WILL NOT REVEAL how many Ontario patients are being exported to the United States for medical treatment which mysteriously was not readily available in Ontario's single-payer, Liberal-enforced healthscare TM system.
Liberals Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor are certainly the ones around here in Niagara who have 'bragged' (more like LIED) about the superiority of their monstrous single-payer health-care monopoly.
Jim Bradley, along with the rest of McGuinty's slimy duplicitous Liberals, have smugly laughed at Buffalo for years, deriding their health-care system - and then shuffling patients to Buffalo and other American medical facilities because the Liberal health-monopoly couldn't provide the necessary care here in Ontario!
The real horror story in Niagara and the rest of Ontario is how health-care-cutting, single-payer-monopoly-enforcing Liberal goons such as Jim Bradley, Kim Craitor, Dalton McGuinty and Deb Matthews have been lying to us.

Dalton walks away from cancer patient: not news. Duckett talks about a cookie: big story.
Tasha Kheriddin wrote in "Paying more and getting less" (National Post, Nov.23, 2010):
“I’m eating my cookie – can’t you see I’m eating my cookie?”
If Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach has any sense, these will go down as the famous last words in the career of one Dr. Stephen Duckett, President and CEO Alberta Health Services (AHS). Dr. Duckett made the remarks to reporters on Nov. 19, after a meeting about hospital wait times and overcrowded emergency rooms. Journalists wanted answers to some simple questions; Dr. Duckett wanted to stuff his mouth with starch. The ensuing exchange has the entire province talking about the CEO’s arrogance, the dire state of the province’s health-care system, and what to do next.
To date, the incident has been seen by over 70,000 viewers on YouTube, and countless others on television newscasts. The next day, Dr. Duckett issued an apology on his website, but didn’t face the media. He wrote, “I’m sorry. I know I got it wrong this time.” The provincial health minister, Gene Zwozdesky, stated that the AHS Board Chair will look into the comments, but that he retains confidence in his cookie-chomping CEO. Premier Ed Stelmach blogged that “Albertans are tiring of the recent theatrics which have garnered most of the attention, and so am I.”
Talk about missing the point. Dr. Duckett’s fit of pique wasn’t a case of theatrics – it was a case of poor judgment. Not punishing it is a similar error. The CEO’s arrogant performance comes at a sensitive time: On Oct. 22, 2010, a letter from the head of emergency services for the Alberta Medical Association, Paul Parks, was leaked to the media. It warned that emergency rooms faced “potential catastrophic collapse … There must be intervention immediately.” The letter unleashed a public furor as stories emerged about 20-hour emergency room waits, a woman having her cervix examined in view of other patients, and a heart patient dying while waiting for treatment.
Ironically, the day before Dr. Duckett morphed into the cookie monster, Raj Sherman, the parliamentary assistant to the health minister blamed the agency he heads for this situation. “They’ve got the biggest (budgetary) pay raise in history to deliver health care. They’ve been given the best staff in the nation … The leadership in AHS needs to inspire the frontline staff.” The current tab for Mr. Duckett’s leadership clocks in at $575,000 a year in salary, plus up to $144,000 in bonuses.
But it’s not just Alberta officials who fiddle while Rome burns. There are health horror stories from one end of the country to the other, from care to cash. In Quebec, emergency room wait times average close to 20 hours; on Sept. 30, a diabetic man died after waiting 7 hours for care. At the same time, on Nov. 18, a report issued by the Conference Board of Canada concluded that Quebec’s health-care system will consume 63% of that province’s budget by 2030-31.
Next door, things are apparently worse: according to the Fraser Institute, Ontario’s spending on health care would require 100% of its own projected source revenue by 2030. Meanwhile, just last year, an audit revealed successive Ontario governments wasted $1-billion on an eHealth project that produced no results.
It’s no wonder that the population gets angry when confronted with the arrogant attitude of a Dr. Duckett. Paying more and getting less is an unacceptable state of affairs, particularly when it comes to health care.
Of course, the elephant in the room is the whole notion that our state-funded, single payer monopoly system is sustainable. Politicians are just as pig-headed about this as Dr. Duckett was about eating his cookie, refusing to talk about alternatives even though polls show an increasing appetite for private insurance and user fees. Instead, they try to patch a broken system, devoid of competition and incentive for improvement, with predictable results.
Albert Einstein famously quipped, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Mr. Stelmach and his fellow premiers should heed that advice. At the end of the day, you cannot have your cookie and eat it, too."

Lost in the uproar over Duckett, people conveniently overlook Shitbag Liberal Premier Liar of Ontario Dalton McGuinty's smarmy episode of ignoring the concerns of cancer patient Mike Brady while McGuinty was shamelessly trolling a hospital lobby in Toronto looking for votes!!
Scumbag McGuinty - Ontario's Liberal health-care-cutting premier - slithered away like the FLICKING snake he is when Brady refused to shake McGuinty's greasy hand.
That video's been on You Tube for several years - see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UzKjfwtXrE&feature=related.
How different from Duckett's was Dalton's attitude of 'I'm walking away... walking awa-aaay... can't hear you, you ungrateful cancer patient... get lost, buddy - can't you see I'm trolling for votes here?'
The cookie crumbled favourably for McGuinty, because, naturally, he's a Liberal, and therefore can do no wrong. Why, he's good-hearted, doncha know!! Duckett, on the other hand, is evil, 'cause he's not a Liberal. [30!] [Say no more!] [Word]
Dalton McGuinty's Liberal health-care-monopolist scumbag liars do the same thing over and over again - who ever gives them Einstein's advice?!

Another Canadian politician goes to the United States for healthcare
Kenyon Wallace reported (National Post, Feb.2, 2010, here) that Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams has chosen to have his heart surgery done in the United States, not anywhere in Canada.
Someone, quick, tell those sickos Michael Moore or Mike Dukakis (see here) that another patient from Utopian Canada - a Premier, no less - has decided to trust that 'awful American health system' rather than his own supposedly-superior Tommy Douglas-socialized system.
Reminds me of the Belinda Stronach situation several years ago, see here.
At least Williams has gone to the States before Obama's socializers destroy their system as Canada's socialists have destroyed ours.
And rest assured there will be many proud liberals on both sides of the border who will spin that Williams' going to the States for his heart surgery shows that Canada's health care system works!!!
You saw how the left attacked Shona Holmes because she dared go to the States rather than sit around Ontario while Tommy Douglas figured out what to do with her - see here; here; here; here.
The left demands that patients wait in line to sacrifice themselves for the supposedly-great socialist ideology of state-run, single-payer health care.
Canadians need a choice, here at home.
The Post's newspaper version stated "A decision to leave Canada for the surgery, especially if it is available here, raised questions about the Premier's confidence in Newfoundland's health system."
Details about the nature of the surgery and the availability of resources to perform it in Canada have not yet been disclosed; but this does raise many questions about the limitations of Canadian health care and its single-payer (except for Quebec) model.
The questions should be raised: did 'the system' fail Williams, or did he abandon his own system?
If the kind of surgery Williams needs isn't available in Canada, then why isn't it?
Was he expected just to sit and wait in Newfoundland, hoping that somehow he eventually might get the care he needed, from the single-payer monstrosity he supports?!? NO: he beat it to the States, to get proper health care!
So: what about all the rest of us in Canada, who have no other choice but to suffer in the same system which isn't good enough for the politicians themselves to endure?
Williams has outsourced his own health care to the best system there is, the American one (...that is, until the Democrats "fix" it...) but, he leaves a lot of unanswered questions at home.
Maybe after his recovery, Williams will call for and work towards getting rid of our ideological Canada Health Act, and work towards the implementation of a private-parallel health care system here in Canada. (...and sadly, Williams DID NOT do that - another example of "do what I say, not what I do" political hypocrisy...)

ObamaCare warning: here's your future, Sickos
ObamaCare single-payer, universal, government-run health care fanatics might want to see the kind of typical bureaucratic political bullshit which will come into play when your government takes sole control of your health care choices.
Look no further than Ontario, Canada, where a morally and financially bankrupt despotic Liberal government imposes its health care monopoly on a trapped population, resulting - despite what socialists want you to think - in higher costs, more cuts, more shortages, coverage de-listing, increasing taxes, and longer wait times.
The following is yet another typical reality (which socialist Obamanites will immediately dismiss as 'anecdotal'!) of the on-going crisis in Ontario's sad health care monopoly, a reality which might soon be coming to a state near you; don't say you weren't warned:
Maria Babbage (CP, Dec.17, 2009, here) wrote in "Hospital funding freeze means longer lineups, paying for services: critics":
"Ontario residents should expect to pay upfront for more health-care services and endure longer lineups if the Liberal government makes good on its threat to freeze funding for hospitals next year, critics said Thursday.
Health Minister Deb Matthews is warning hospitals to brace for a possible budget freeze this spring because the province is grappling with a $24.7-billion deficit - the largest in its history.
The most hospitals can hope for is an increase below last year's 2.1 per cent boost - less than inflation - which critics say is so meagre it has already forced hospitals to close beds and cut services.
No matter how Matthews tries to spin it, a budget freeze amounts to a service cut because hospitals won't be able to meet rising costs, said NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.
The Liberals have already wasted millions of dollars in their bungled attempt to create electronic health records, she said.
"It makes people shake their head with disgust when they hear things like frozen hospital budgets and zero per cent increases on one hand, and on the other hand, they see the eHealth boondoggle - a billion dollars out the door with very little to show for it," she said.
Tom Closson, president of the Ontario Hospital Association, downplayed the possibility of a funding freeze as "highly speculative."
The OHA is "optimistic" that hospitals will see a funding increase of about two per cent in the next provincial budget, which is expected in May, he said.
"This is a very unusual economic challenge that this government is facing," Closson said.
More than a third of Ontario hospitals - 61 in total - couldn't balance their books last year, amounting to a $154-million shortfall.
Hospitals are forbidden from running deficits by law, but many received waivers because they've agreed to balance their books.
The number of hospitals swimming in red ink will only grow if the government starves them of much-needed cash, critics say.
Some hospitals are already on financial life support and borrowing heavily to meet payroll and pay their bills, said Natalie Mehra, executive director of the Ontario Health Coalition.
A funding freeze means patients will be forced to travel further for health care, wait longer for a hospital bed and may even have to fork over cash for services, she said.
"It means that we'll likely see attempts to close more of the small and rural hospitals," she said.
"It means that more services like physiotherapy will be cut and people will have to pay out of pocket for them ... It means longer lineups in the ERs because there's not enough hospital beds."
Premier Dalton McGuinty vowed in October to help cash-strapped hospitals through tough economic times, but there are signs that a freeze on hospital funding is imminent.
A spokesman for Lakeridge Health Network, which runs three hospitals and three specialty sites in east-central Ontario, refused to comment Thursday on how a funding freeze would affect its services.
But in an earlier interview, CEO Kevin Empey suggested that it would be unwise for hospitals to expect a bigger funding increase than last year.
"The signals from the government are: plan for zero per cent next year," he said.
Niagara Health System, which had the biggest deficit last year of $18.8 million, put together a plan to reduce that shortfall to $3 million by 2013. The system has seven hospital sites.
But that plan, which was approved by local health officials, assumes a three per cent increase in funding each year, said hospital spokeswoman Caroline Bourque Wiley. Every one per cent change represents a $3-million impact to its budget.
The hospital's plan for next year assumes a two per cent increase and no service cuts, she said. It "would not be responsible" to speculate about what service reductions would be required if the funding increase falls below that target, she added.
"The government usually provides guidance months ahead of its budget on how much funding hospitals can expect to receive, so they can draft operating plans for the upcoming year. That didn't happen this year, Closson said.
Instead, hospitals were instructed to draft plans using three different scenarios - a funding freeze, a one per cent increase and a two per cent increase - and submit those plans by Dec. 15, he said.
"I can understand the challenge (the government's) facing: do you really want to get a number out before you have good information on what it's likely to be next year for them in terms of revenue?" Closson said.
"But having said that, the longer they wait, the more difficult it is going to be for hospitals to balance their budgets next year. And the more costly."
The Liberals shouldn't be able to plead poverty after foisting a health tax of up to $900 per person on Ontario taxpayers, said Progressive Conservative health critic Christine Elliott.
"The reality will be that a lot of hospitals are going to have to start cutting services to the public, and that's directly in contrast to what the minister originally said," Elliott said in an interview.
"I think taxpayers have every right to be outraged about this."
Ontario's 159 public hospitals receive about 85 per cent of their funding from the province through 14 Local Health Integration Networks, which were set up by the Liberals three years ago to make local health-care decisions and dispense government cash."
*
Some 13 million trapped Ontarians HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE but to suffer under whatever scheme the morally and financially bankrupt Liberal premier scumbag Dalton McGuinty decides to dole out. While American sickos such as Michael Moore and the Democratic ObamaCare crowd make noise with their agitation for more state health care control, giddily pointing to Canada, promising illusions of supposed "savings", all these people should look at what's really happening in Ontario's overrated health-care-Utopia: costs CONTINUE to RISE, and care is rationed - WHILE THE GOVERNMENT arbitrarily RAISES taxes and CUTS services!!! Ontarians are forced to travel to the States for timely health care, here, which is often unavailable here in Ontario's government-run health monopoly.

Kaleida Health comes to Ontario, sort of
The arrow line travels around Lake Ontario, through Liberal single-payer health care territory, across Niagara and over the river to the States.
Well, this should get all the lefties into an uproar!
How dare these Bush... ohhh....sorrrryy... Obamanist Yanks advertise here in our blessed single-payer health Utopia, which Tommy Douglas built with his own pure sweat and guile? Why would they do this, don't they know Michael Moore has already proven beyond doubt that Canada's system is better?! Like, haven't they heard the single-payer 411, man?
"World-class health care right across the border", the ad sez.
What? But...
"Expedite it. Kaleida Health is Western New York's most dynamic hospital network offering premier services like bariatrics, orthopaedics, gastrointestinal services, gynecology, neurology, pediatrics, women's services, and diagnostic imaging. Kaleida provides all patients with world-class care as soon as they need it. Whether it's simple, routine tests or an advanced surgery, the wait is over with Kaleida health."
St.Catharines Liberal MPP (and single-payer health care monopolist) Jim Bradley must be incensed, with American health care providers pissing on Jimmy's leg, here in Jimmy's own failing Ontario single-payer health monopoly.
Is Jim gonna ban ads such as this?
His Liberals ban the providers in Ontario!
Jim can't allow the local yokels to become exposed to health care choice and alternatives; this will lead to uncomfortable questions being asked which Jim Bradley's Liberal rhetoric cannot explain! After all, there's a cosy monopoly to protect here in Ontario... right, Jim?
Patients get 'World-class care as soon as they need it': feh... right, Jim?!
You'll get service in Ontario when Jim is good'n'ready to give it to you. Until then, shadaap.
Oh, remember the good ole days, when George Smitherman, Ontario's Liberal batman, and Jim Bradley, our boy wonder, teamed up to ban U.S. based Life-Line from Ontario? (see page 44-45 here) Remember the Monopoly Defending Duo's smug outrage, their tough talk... their bold Liberal BULLSh#T?!! (also here)
Ontarians crossing to the States for health care - why: that's a myth, Bradley would say! Is it also a myth that Democrat New York State Governor Paterson is planning more CUTS of almost a billion dollars, to health care and education in NY state? Yeah, health care CUTS in Obama country. Hmm.

The single-payer plague
Funny seeing former federal Liberal health minister Ujjal Dosanjh disingenuously blabbing on the CBC news on July 21. Why should any American listen to Ujjal's (or pinhead Jack-off Layton's) absurd defenses of Canadian single-payer, state-run monopoly health care? Canada's authoritarian system is no role model to follow, unless you're an Ed Schultz, a Michael Moore, a Dennis Kucinich, or a Mike Dukakis, who ridiculously spouts BS that Canadians are NOT regularly sent to the U.S. for treatment that is unavailable in Canada's sicko health care Utopia! FLICKING DEMOTARDS.
These Yanks should actually understand what happened to Shona Holmes in Ontario's Liberal health care CLUSTERFLICK, before they screw the American people with socialized single-payer pipedreams.
These Yanks should understand what the Chaoulli court challenge in Quebec was all about. It's a hard sell to get many ignorant lefty Yanks to actually read about our experience in Canada with single payer health care.
Ujjal Dosanjh is a useless turd in the story of Canadian health care, except of course, as being another apologist in a long line of state-run health monopolists.
FLICK Dosanjh and the horse he rode in on.
The U.S. health system has time and again been an actual lifesaver for Canadians who could not obtain promised, needed medical care in Canada. Let's not pretend that this doesn't regularly happen. Let's not pretend that the U.S. system is perfect; but by the same token, neither is Canada's - we often rely on the American system! The Americans can raise the bar for themselves by NOT emulating Canada in any way; and by ignoring Canada's single-payer system as if it were the plague. Learn from our mistakes in Canada; or from your mistakes in Hawaii!

Mike Dukakis tells the "truth" about Canadian health care
Liberal MPP Jim Bradley has been vindicated from accusations that the Ontario government, under Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty, has been exporting sick patients to the United States.
The rumours were that for years, the Liberals have been sending Canadian patients to the U.S., because the Liberal government could not provide timely health care in their single-payer, state-run monopoly.
Jim Bradley, a leading health care monopolist and patient-payer-choice denier, and his Liberals, can breathe a sigh of relief, now that U.S. Democrat Mike Dukakis has finally revealed the hidden truth - that these accusations of patients being sent from Canada to the States for treatment were simply "fairy tales". Dukakis stated that this never happened:
see: http://rightinniagara.blogspot.com/2009/07/michael-dukakis-democrat-moron-and-liar.html
Thankfully we can now all see the truth, because, as we all know, the American Democrats have no interest in lying to or deceiving the public.
Michael Dukakis knows full well that Suzanne Aucoin received all her cancer care in Canada, and she did NOT ever need to travel to the United States for treatment. It is patently untrue - completely fabricated - that Jim Bradley's Liberals denied Aucoin health care, and that she was forced to obtain treatment in Buffalo; and furthermore, it is also a lie that Ontario's Ombudsman Andre Marin ever investigated the Liberal health system's treatment of Aucoin; and it is untrue that the Ombudsman ever criticized or severely chastised the Liberal health monopoly's performance.
Furthermore, it is a lie that Liberal billionaire and Magna-empire-heir Belinda Stronach ever used the American health care system. That would be a betrayal of her high Liberal moral standards. Stronach stayed in Canada for her entire treatment, due to Canada's high standards of socialized medicare. As a billionaire, she waited in front of poorer and sicker people, just like everyone else.
(In fact, the Chaoulli Supreme Court challenge did not even occur, and, no ruling was ever made pointing out the illegality of banning payer options for health care. This never happened in Quebec in 2005. Nope.)
Lindsay McCreith never received any medical care in the United States, and, neither did Shona Holmes. They were never denied timely treatment in Liberal Ontario!
Michael Dukakis clearly has revealed the truth that all Americans and Canadians should know. Canadians do not need - have never needed - to go to the U.S. for treatment, because the Canadian health care model is clearly so much superior. It is ridiculous to pretend that single-payer universal health care promises are not fulfilled in Canada - why would Canadians need to go to the States for treatment, anyway?
Scholar Michael Sicko Moore has proven that emergency wait times in Canada are shorter than pizza delivery wait times! This is an undisputed fact. Furthermore, studies showing that hospital ER waits in St. Catharines (in Liberal monopolist Jim "single-payer" Bradley's own city) average 23 hours, are nothing but a lie! Michael Dukakis knows this, and is fighting to inform Americans with the truth!
The Jepp quads never needed to go to Montana for their birth, and in fact, they were all born in Canada, NOT the United States. There were more than enough neo natal beds in Canada's socialized health care system, as Dukakis well knows; thankfully, this great Democrat is now making it known to all Americans. The only reason their mother went to the States (umm, that is, if she was really there at all...) was to get treasured American passports for the babies...that's all. In fact, Dukakis will soon be investigating this immigration loophole. Why give monopoly-health care victims free citizenship to their kids, any way?
In 2006, the Coote twins, from monopolist Jim Bradley's city of St. Catharines, were NOT born in Buffalo N.Y., as widely alleged. Jim Bradley's Liberals had plenty of neo natal beds available locally, and so, they must have been born in Ontario. There never was any neo natal bed shortage in Ontario under Jim Bradley's watch!
For that matter, in June 2009, infant Ava Stinson was also never sent to Buffalo. She was never sent to Buffalo because there were plenty of neo natal beds in Ontario's Liberal health monopoly. Mike Dukakis knows that this didn't happen, and Mike Dukakis wants you to know the real truth, that Canada's great health care system has never relied on the American system.
Canada hasn't been sending infants to the States for health care treatment for years; heck - maybe never - as far as Mike Dukakis is concerned...
Why, if one said that even back in 1988, MPP Jim Bradley and his Ontario Liberals were already sending expectant mothers to Buffalo, because the necessary facilities were unavailable in Ontario's health monopoly, one would be a liar. Mike Dukakis has now shown us the truth; therefore, Dr. Paul Byrne's letter in the Jan.21, 1988 Toronto Star also never happened.
Rick Laporte never had to go from Windsor Ont. to Detroit for emergency heart treatment! Charlie Godden was never sent to Rochester, N.Y., because Ontario had no burn unit available! It never happened - and this is on the high authority of a senior U.S. Democrat, Mike Dukakis.
In fact, Dukakis should be preparing a study showing that millions of Americans are forced to cross the border to obtain free health care in Canada - and it is free, literally; no one pays for it at all. No-one - 'cuz it's free.
Mike Dukakis knows that Ontario's Liberals never need to send patients to the States.
Mike Dukakis has read of the instances of Canadian patients (supposedly!) forced to go to the United States for treatment unavailable in Canada, as detailed in the essay Liberal Healthcare Duplicity
. . . and Mike Dukakis has clearly stated that such occurrences NEVER HAPPENED.
Liberal MPP Jim Bradley sure wishes that were true.

Will Jim Bradley bother to validate or dispute Dukakis' claims? Gosh: we'll never know!
