Blowing tax-dollars "not unusual" for Liberals

An Oct.23, 2015 CBC story reported: "Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne says the province paying millions to teachers' unions to compensate them for a long labour negotiation process is not unusual and that the payments are key to getting labour deals signed."
As Square Root commented:
"Under section 70 of the Ontario Labour Relations Act dealing with unfair practices:
"No employer or employers’ organization and no person acting on behalf of an employer or an employers’ organization shall participate in or interfere with the formation, selection or administration of a trade union or the representation of employees by a trade union or contribute financial or other support to a trade union, but nothing in this section shall be deemed to deprive an employer of the employer’s freedom to express views so long as the employer does not use coercion, intimidation, threats, promises or undue influence. 1995, c. 1, Sched. A, s. 70"
Logo commented:
"The Office of the Auditor General needs to conducts value-for-money /financial audits of all the provincial government departments, ministries and agencies to determine if this is common and then take action on their findings into this unsettling situation. This sounds like a contravention of the Financial Administration Act (Ontario)."
For some reason, CBC interviewer Matt Galloway didn't ask Wynne about the OLRA or FAA issues!
I suppose that Wynne's Liberal actions aren't unusual at all to those Liberal-infected Ontarians, who also find absolutely nothing wrong with the Ontario Liberal's blowing multi-BILLIONS on their numerous other fantastic schemes.
For months, the incestuous Ontario Liberals, as the government, acted openly in supporting and campaigning for Justin Turdo's federal Liberals.
Ontario's taxpayers essentially helped subsidize Justin Turdeau's federal election campaign - yet another brazen, indirect theft from the Ontario taxpayer's pocket (...a typically-Liberal mode of operation, btw...) which Galloway didn't ask about.

"Incredibly" - Liberal hack Jim Bradley again protected from scrutiny by friendly media

It's funny how Postmedia's Liberal-lovin'-rag known as the St. Catharines Standard can write a blustery editorial, such as the one by Peter Epp on Oct.7, 2015 and not mention the word "Liberal" even once. The issue was that a private firm, Carillon, was fined for not properly maintaining the QEW highway.
Epp wrote:
"Incredibly, the province switched to something called a performance-based contract in 2009, allowing contractors to decide how to meet those maintenance standards, which the Progressive Conservatives contend have been lowered."
Yet, which party lowered those standards?
Epp makes a point of NOT pointing out that it was the Liberal government!
Can't confuse the sheeple with facts such as this! Doing so would clash with Boyle's Law of Liberal Blamelessness; it would be harshly incompatible with the over-riding meme prevalent at the St.Catharines Standard Bradley Bootlicker: that Liberals can do no wrong... and if they do wrong, well then, it must be kept quiet and swept under the rug.
So: who was Ontario's Liberal Transportation Minister in 2009?
Yep: it was none other than St.Catharines' own Liberal hack, MPP Jim Bradley!
"Incredibly", Good Ol' Jim Bradley WAS NOT even mentioned in Epp's editorial!
Amazing, isn't it?!
Why was there no interview with, no statement from, the Liberal hack whose grubby hands were all over that deal in 2009?
Why wasn't the St. Catharines Standard pursuing their local Liberal buddy Jim Bradley for answers?!
Why wasn't the St.Catharines Standard asking the MPP in their own city - the former Liberal Transportation Minister in 2009 - all about his lowered standards, and the subsequent repercussions today, in 2015?
Did the St.Catharines Standard EVEN BOTHER to contact Bradley - the Liberal MPP from their own city - regarding this issue?!
Incredibly, the Standard's standard procedure has not changed: carefully caress Jim Bradley's hackneyed Liberalism; delicately downplay and deflect any controversy, and protect Liberal Saint Jim Bradley's butt from any criticism - even though he was directly involved in the very subject at issue in the editorial!!
It takes skill to write an editorial where the main culprit {the Liberal MPP in your own city} somehow isn't mentioned and vanishes into a convenient Cone of Silence.
-
It is obvious that for years, the St. Catharines Standard has been peddling its own brand of what in the 2016 U.S. presidential election finally became widely recognized as FAKE NEWS - media manipulation and bias, like CNN's spectacle of sewer-rat phony 'journalism' which was just shameless propaganda.
With their penchant for protecting their Liberal pal Jim Bradley from any serious scrutiny, the St. Catharines Standard was already well on that similar kind of road for years, kissing Liberal MPP Jim Bradley's ass for decades.
*
It should come as no surprise that the Jim Bradley-loving leftist St. Catharines Standard would be eventually acquired by the scumbag Tor Star conglomerate: this indeed did happen, as reported Nov.27, 2017 by the CBC.
The cabal of Niagara's leftist rags, which were embarrassing PostMedia outlets, are now to become embarrassing propaganda outlets for the Toronto Star's brand of biased Atkinsonian socialism.

"..For their part, Torstar got these newspapers:
  • Barrie Examiner.
  • Bradford Times.
  • Collingwood Enterprise Bulletin.
  • Fort Erie Times.
  • Innisfil Examiner.
  • Inport News (Port Colborne).
  • Niagara Advance.
  • Niagara Falls Review.
  • Northumberland Today.
  • Orillia Packet and Times.
  • Pelham News.
  • Peterborough Examiner.
  • St. Catharines Standard.
  • Thorold Niagara News.
  • Welland Tribune.
  • Stratford City Gazette.
  • West Carleton Review.
In addition to the smaller community papers, Torstar also got two new free commuter newspapers in major cities, 24 Hours Toronto and 24 Hours Vancouver.
As is the case with Postmedia, most of Torstar's new properties are to be shut down, including those two.
Only four papers — St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review, Welland Tribune and Peterborough Examiner — will continue to operate.
The rest will all be closed in a move that Torstar says it expects will results in cost saving synergies of between $5 and $7 million. The Torstar closures, which are effective immediately, will affect 46 full-time and part-time employees..."

It is easy to see what the gradual next step will be here in Niagara: that the 3 city papers will be merged into one regional Niagara Star, and they will use the exact same "cost-savings" rhetoric which they are using now, to justify the next round of  attrition/amalgamation/consolidation.
For years, the St.Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and the Welland Tribune have been essentially the same newspaper, anyways, publishing basically the same common news feeds; the real difference being in how much local advertising was being sent out in each paper.
It's not hard to see, given some tweaking on the advertising end and on the"local news" end, that a merger is the next goal.
-
It's also VERY interesting to see the deceptive leftist spin which Global News put on this media swap - Global's Nov. 27, 2017 headline read:
"Postmedia shuts down community newspapers after swap with Torstar" -
- as if the leftists at TorStar weren't doing the EXACT SAME THING!!!
And who wrote this phony Global headline? Who knows! Who wrote the story? Who knows - it's just an anonymous  CP feed!!! Heck, maybe a computer bot automatically wrote it!
But interestingly, it is relevant to understand that TorStar has a part ownership of  CP (Canadian Press), so how surprising can it be to see that a CP story is spiked with a biased accompanying headline?!?
THAT'S how MSM propaganda works!!!
The fact that TorStar is ALSO closing newspapers WAS PURPOSEFULLY and DECEPTIVELY eliminated from Global's fake news-worthy headline!! Instead, ONLY PostMedia was scapegoated as the newspaper-closing villains!!

Why even have a Global if they are just advertising accumulators for disseminating CP and AP feeds?!

Justin Trudeau: Son of Fuddle-Duddle's Flip-Flops

Further to an earlier post here ...

... talk about the pathetic vaudeville act which Stephane Bumbledore Dion brought to the Liberal party - it looks like Drama Boy Justin Trudeau is now looking to capture Dion's laughable aura.

By Dec.4, 2012, Trudeau has flip-flopped AGAIN on the gun registry issue, telling us that "if we had a vote tomorrow, I would vote once again to keep the long-gun registry".

'WTF?', you may rightly ask!

Justin just several days ago, on Nov.30, 2012, claimed that the gun-registry was "a failure". Now, he says, he would still vote for it again, having just told us he thought it was a failure! This Liberal wannabe leader is as incoherent as Stephane Dion ever was - and he can't blame it away on any accent, either.

It's becoming quite true that there's "no true in Trudeau" - it's just the same old typical lefty moral-equivalency-pandering tactic, as usual, applicable to a host of their malleable positions.

When is this Liberal Trudeau ever telling us the truth?
Today?
Last week?
Now?
A little later from now?!
When he's in Quebec?!
When he's not in Quebec?
For the entire time when, as an MP, he supported the registry, and did not vote to abolish it, even though he now claims it was "a failure"?!

When did the registry suddenly morph into "a failure", for an opportunistic Justin? When he saw possible votes? What a base panderer!

We need only to recall back when the bumbling, hapless Dion was shovelling his GreenShift sh!t throughout Canada in 2008, that Dion was constantly shoving his foot in his mouth, policy-wise, yet, Liberal apologists have since created a mythical narrative that this was someone else's - not Dion's - doing!

Get ready for the same kind of spin (Warren Kinsella's probably manufacturing some already) to help cover for Justin's vacuous vacillation - that somehow, all this was a misunderstanding, that the whole thing was out of context, and, nevertheless, made up by others to smear the earnest, entitled, coiffed fruit of Pirouetting Pierre's loins.

Justin Trudeau - whose motto is that others, but not him, are 'full of shit'  - set out, as he admitted, to smear Harper, yet all that the hallowed Son of Fuddle Duddle managed to do, was only smear himself. So: that is why Justin would be a great Liberal leader...can't wait, really...

Another St.Catharines Standard Jim Bradley puff-piece

Further to this earlier post...

...the St.Catharines Standard Bradley Shoeshiner somehow dug up Ole Jim Bradley for a story in their Nov.20, 2012 edition.

[Amazing, eh?! For half a year, when dozens of patients were infected and dying of C. difficile in Niagara, the St.Catharines Standard couldn't be bothered to find Jim Bradley!!!!!!!]

But hey - don't worry: this was just another JimmyFriendly puff-piece, with no substance; this time from Niagara Falls Review reporter Ray Spiteri. It was a 'very important' article about, ah... um... oh yeah... what Jim Bradley (the Environment Minister!) thinks about the 100K Sunshine List!

Wow! For this, they found Ole Jimmy?!?!!

And the Standard even carried a nice large photo of Good Ole Liberal Jimmy, just for good measure! Oh, that's super! Why, it's like a campaign photo, it's so great!! hahahahaha

Spiteri made sure - damn sure - not to mention that Jim Bradley is even a Liberal! Spiteri just wrote that Bradley is an "MPP". But Spiteri managed to remind us that Mike Harris was a "Conservative". Thanks, Spiteri.

So, Liberal MPP Jim Bradley was not asked about Bradley's years of global warming / climate change GreenFear-mongering, which directly led to Dalton McGuinty's eventual resignation as Premier. (...not to mention the multi-billion-dollar costs of Bradley's Liberal GreenFear-paranoia-based energy experiments).

Spiteri didn't ask Jim Bradley why the gas-plants are being built, when Brad Duguid told us that Ontario didn't need the power. (I mean, for cryin' out loud: Spiteri even had the loquacious Bradley babbling on that if someone changed the Sunshine List "they might be accused of trying to hide something"! Say whaaat?! You mean, like your Liberals did, Jim???!

Bradley gave Spiteri the opening; Spiteri just did his stenography and moved on.

Spiteri didn't ask Good Ole Jimmy why his Liberals are denying health care to Ontario children, who must go to the States for their treatment.

Was Spiteri told (...he didn't do this story all by himself, did he?! If so: shame...) by his editors to write some puff-piece to get Ole Jimmy in the papers again, on issues far removed from Jimmy's disgusting Liberal proroguation? This story did the trick.

So, that's what we saw in the St.Catharines Standard: another little bit of JimmyFriendly propaganda, ignoring the true political questions swirling around Jimmy's Liberals. These are the kind of stories which Warren Kinsella approves of!

Good job, all around!! The Ontario Liberal Party (...and Jim Bradley, natch!) thanks you!

McGuinty's abandonment of Caledonia was a political template for subsequent Liberal C.difficile negligence

McGuinty's abandonment of Caledonia is overshadowed by McGuinty's deadly abandonment of Ontario's C. difficile patients

Further to this earlier post here...

The National Post carried a good editorial "Dalton McGuinty - successful politician, failed leader" (Oct.16, 2012), about Dalton McGuinty's resignation, which McGuinty had announced late in the day on Oct.15.

The Post's editorial nicely summarized McGuinty's years of lies and obfuscation, concluding that the worst thing that Dalton did was abandon the people of Caledonia.

It was no doubt a disgrace - an utter disgusting disgrace, what the cowardly McGuinty did (as a practising "Liberal", practicing in a supposedly-"just society") to the people of Caledonia, to Ontarians, and to the notion of rule of law.

However, I don't think Caledonia was on the same level of deceit, callousness and negligence, when compared to how McGuinty's lies in 2008 about Ontario's C.diff crisis 'being under control' (when it clearly wasn't) directly precipitated the 2011 C.diff outbreak in Niagara, which killed at least three dozen patients.

What McGuinty did in Caledonia (which came to a head in 2006) was bereft of leadership, and morally vacuous; but what McGuinty later did in propagating his C.diff lies...
(...to hide his health-monopoly from a public inquiry in 2008 - a parallel tactic with the similar scenario in Oct. 2012: run, hide, and buy time when the flashlight is about to be shone on McGuinty's despotic, secretive activities!)
...was criminal, resulting in death.

McGuinty, in 2008, had an obligation - as the unapologetic head-cheerleader of a despotic political ideology which forced a single-payer state-run health monopoly upon Ontarians - to ensure that his state-run monopoly was publicly scrutinized, especially when hundreds of Ontarians had ALREADY died in C.difficile outbreaks throughout the province, under McGuinty's and George Smitherman's watch.

McGuinty, in 2008, personally perpetrated the lie that his Liberal-run health monopoly did NOT need any public scrutiny or inquiry into the C.diff deaths, claiming (falsely) that everything was under control, that the Liberals and their monopolist health organization knew all there was to know about C. difficile, so no troublesome inquiries were needed.

This was what Dalton McGuinty, Ontario's Premier Liberal liar, told us in 2008. This was way worse than what McGuinty did in Caledonia: this led to deaths in Niagara.

If the National Post had remembered McGuinty's 2008 C.difficile lies, then the Post would have been able to add a new and profound perspective to the significance of what happened in Caledonia: it was in Caledonia that McGuinty learned that he could act as a despot; where he learned that there were no serious repercussions to his (non)actions/decisions; where he learned that he would not be held to account for the repercussions of his "policies".

Caledonia crystallized in McGuinty's mind the reality that he and his Liberals could dismiss, lie to, and steam-roller over the people of Ontario, time and time again, fiasco after FLICKING fiasco.

Caledonia was a precursor which emboldened disgusting Dalton's political pathology, later helping this serial liar to non-chalantly create secret G20 laws, or condemn future patients to death, in order to protect his morally-bankrupt health-monopoly from scrutiny.

McGuinty should have been stopped and held to account at Caledonia.

Ontarians let McGuinty get away with it, for far too long.

And sadly, the people of Niagara still let Liberal MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor get away with it, as well.

McGuinty Liberals 100% responsible for Ontario energy mess

Further to this earlier post about MPP Jim Bradley's Liberal government's lies about their phony "50,000" green jobs...

...we have yet another detailed story, Ontario’s Power Trip: How the Liberals drove electricity prices up 100%,  by Parker Gallant (Oct.10, 2012, National Post), further exposing the greenscam energy fiasco created by McGuinty's Liberals, which has now devastated Ontario.

Jim Bradley and his unaccountable, secretive Liberal government's Green Fear bolshevism did not save Mother Gaia... all Jim Bradley and his Kyoto-whining-Grits did was demonize carbon dioxide and fearmonger about climate change and global warming and saving cucumber trees - and subsequently raise the cost of Ontario's energy over 100%.

Too bad that in Niagara, there are no actual reporters at the St.Catharines Standard Jim Bradley Brown-noser to ask local Liberal greenshevik Jim Bradley about any of this. Gotta help Jimmy'N'Kimmy to find a way ta blame harris...

Looks like Ontario's Environment Minister Jim Bradley has nothing to do with the environment!

Interesting article by Greg Van Moorsel in the Dec.27, 2011 St.Catharines Standard, "Ontario's dirt hides behind oilsands', which points out that McGuinty's Liberals should be thankful that Alberta's oil industry is supporting Ontario economically, while at the same time also taking the spotlight away from McGuinty-run Ontario's own abysmal environmental record (as Ontario's environment commissioner Gord Miller had recently reported)

Despite adopting a GreenFear-fallacy within his own story (peddling unsubstantiated links to "climate-warming greenhouse gases") Van Moorsel nevertheless makes some good points about how Alberta gets vilified, yet Ontario gets a free environmental pass.

The astounding thing about this report - coming as it does from Sun Media's own national comment editor, and appearing in Wendy Metcalfe's notoriously faux-'wrong-righting'  St.Catharines Standard - is that - once again! -  there was no analysis of, no comments from, no reactions from, no mention whatsoever about St.Catharines Liberal MPP Jim James J.J. Bradley - who is Ontario's Environment Minister!!!

There was nothing at all in this story from or about Jim Bradley - a TWO-TIME ONTARIO LIBERAL environment minister, no less!!!!

Why was Good Ole Jim Bradley, the Liberal Kyodiot who practically gave birth to Kyoto in Ontario a decade ago, ever-so-conveniently missing in this report?!

Don't Wendy Metcalfe or Greg Van Moorsel know who Jim Bradley is, or what he's (not) done??! hahaha.

And Kinsella calls Sun Media 'right-wing'!! hahaha

First Liberal lie of the 2011 election campaign: Dalton promises Four More Years Of "Leadership"!

Great story with the headline "Premier promises 4 years of leadership"!!!
What a great example of "truthiness" at work.
Well, for starters, McGuinty is Ontario's Leading Liar - so, to loyal Grits, four more years of McGuinty's Liberal lies is "leadership"! See how easily the deception works!
But for the rest of us, McGuinty is no leader, just a plain friggin' Liberal liar - so, right there, this Liberal weasel has already told his first lie of the 2011 campaign.
Tell us the truth for once, Pinocchio Dalton; be honest: just promise us all 4 more years of lies!!!
Is that so hard to do?!
Tell us that your lying Liberal spots have not changed: you're still Ontario's Premier Liberal Liar, and that, if re-elected, your Lying Liberal Leadership will disastrously continue as it has continued for the last eight deceptive years. Steady as she goes, and all that, captain... (captain of the Liberal Titanic, that is...)
Can ya do that for us, just once, Dalton - tell us the truth, that you will continue to placate us with your relentless lying Liberal lullabies.

Why does Liberal Jim Bradley get away without any C. difficile scrutiny from the local (or any!) press?

The Barrie Examiner today had an interesting editorial "Duncan should know where the blame lies":

"July is waning and Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan is just now figuring out his Liberal government needs to spruce up its communications strategy.
It's not too little, too late, but it's close.
Duncan says voters in this province don't realize the full extent of the tax breaks they have enjoyed for the nearly eight years Premier Dalton McGuinty and the Grits have ruled Ontario.
Income tax breaks, property tax grants for seniors and full-day kindergarten (daycare savings) are just three of 10 such benefits Duncan outlined for The Canadian Press this week.
The finance minister says this averages $355 per person, but the savings are a little hidden because they are only seen in bits and bites on our pay-cheques.
Instead, Duncan says Ontario voters have noticed the harmonized sales tax, and blamed the right-wing media for not telling the truth. He even compared the media here to Rupert Murdoch's bunch in Great Britain.
But the real truth is if the Liberals aren't adequately getting their message to Ontario voters, they only have themselves to blame.
Since when did any level of government in this country rely on the media to get its message across?
Prime Minister Stephen Harper certainly didn't in the last federal election. He probably wouldn't be PM today had he done so.
Why would Duncan, and by extension McGuinty, believe it's the media's job to spin the news their way? It is the media's job to question any government's agenda, policies and actions -- usually to a greater extent than the opposition parties.
Why? Because governments are in a position to take action on their agendas and policies. They can and do set laws.
The Liberals might also consider that one reason they have received bad press on the HST and high hydro rates is because Ontario residents don't like them.
Even if they are getting some tax breaks, they don't like paying 13% tax (HST) on more items they purchase than before -- even with the HST rebates the Liberals have offered.
What Duncan and the Liberals have done an inadequate job doing is explaining the benefits of the HST, how it will save businesses money and create more employment in the future.
Of course, it doesn't help that Conservative boss Tim Hudak has been politically pounding on the Liberals nearly every day this summer.
Taxes are too high, government spending is too high, there's too much waste in government, the average Ontario family is being screwed over by the Liberals, etc., etc., has been the message. And Hudak keeps banging that drum.
But if it's working -- and it appears to be, if the latest polls are accurate -- then that's the Liberals' fault too.
It's always tougher being the government than in opposition. Governments have to defend what they have done, and are doing -- while the opposition can just criticize and complain.
Hudak needs to do a little more than this now, with a provincial election looming on Oct. 6. But the Liberals have, to this point, done a poor job countering what the Tory leader has been saying, and promising.
Again, that's not the media's fault.
Perhaps McGuinty, Duncan and company are awaiting summer's end, when the real election campaign begins, and the finance minister was just letting off a little steam this week.
Surely he knows, however, where the real blame should fall."
*
Ole Dunkin' probably yearns for the kind of fawning, deviously helpful, Liberal-friendly, Liberal-ass-kissing media which Liberal MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor enjoy in Niagara.
Jim Bradley's Liberalism has been on a permanent spin cycle in Niagara for thirty friggin' (as Liberal Joyce Morocco would say) years!!
Jim's political Liberal laundry is well-washed by his Liberal media acolytes - and Good Ole Jimmy always comes out clean!
If - as this editorial states - it is "the media's job to question any government's agenda, policies and actions -- usually to a greater extent than the opposition parties" - then this HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE IN NIAGARA!!
In Niagara, Jim Bradley is simply NOT MENTIONED in stories which may be possibly-Liberal-negative in nature.
Jim is mysteriously overlooked when it comes to media questions and criticism!
Jim Bradley can do no wrong in Niagara - even under the disgusting lying Liberal McGuinty's despotic majority rule!
Bradley's Liberal media buddies do their best to keep it that way.
And don't even ask about how easy of a ride Jim Bradley had when he was in opposition!
Since May, 2011, 26 patients have died in Niagara's C. difficile outbreak, in Bradley's own Liberal-monopoly-controlled hospitals, in Bradley's own backyard: dare you to find one comment about this horror from Liberal Jim Bradley!
It's as if Good Ole Jimmy's got nuttin' ta do wid it - wid any of it.

Proud to be a Liberal... puke.

Liberal Warren Kantsellit was going on in his Jun.14, 2011 St.Catharines Standard column about how proud he is to be a Liberal, and asks rhetorically "can anyone name any other proud Liberal writing a column for the Sun Media chain?"
hmm... Maybe Kinsella doesn't know that the St.Catharines Standard is a Sun paper; and maybe Kinsella should be trying to name even one small-C- conservative reporter/writer/columnist at the St.Catharines Standard!! C'mon...  try it...  it ain't that easy....!
The Standard reeks of the lib-left-and-worse status-quo; it's like Niagara's own little CBC, without the tax-payer funding. The weasel-word-qualifier which Kinsella is using is that these Sun writers he's asking about have to be "proud" Liberals - whatever that means.
The St.Catharines Standard has been proudly kissing Liberal MPP Jim Bradley's ass for three decades now.
Doesn't that count for anything in Warren's Liberal world-view?!
Aren't the lib-left weasels at the Standard going to protest Kantsellit's insulting and demeaning rhetoric?!

McGuinty's Liberal scumbags hide from G20 responsibility

Antonella Artuso wrote in  "Province blames feds about G20 law" (Toronto Sun, Apr.28, 2011):

"Ontario is pointing the finger at the federal Conservatives following the release of a second damning report on its own secret G20 law.

Community Safety Minister Jim Bradley rebuffed calls for a provincial inquiry, arguing it wasn’t Ontario’s idea to hold the G20 Summit in downtown Toronto last June.

“This was a federally-initiated conference; this was a federally-initiated security operation,” Bradley said Thursday. “I didn’t ask that it be placed in downtown Toronto. I don’t know who did. The federal government insisted it be there.”

Bradley denied suggestions he might be inserting himself into the federal election campaign with his comments, saying that was certainly not his intention.

The minister formally released Thursday the report of former Chief Justice Roy McMurtry, who was asked by the Dalton McGuinty government to review the Public Works Protection Act (PWPA), a War Measures bill used by police to protect the security perimeter at the summit.

The public only found out the bill had been used to create a barrier around the downtown core after police began stopping, searching and even arresting citizens under its powers.

McMurtry says the Act should be repealed.

“The vagueness of the PWPA permits it to be used in situations when it is arguably not necessary and potentially abusive,” McMurtry reports. “In my view, the PWPA has been used for purposes beyond its original intent.”

Last December, Ontario Ombudsman Andre Marin said the province’s PWPA essentially placed Torontonians under martial law over the weekend the city hosted world leaders.

Bradley said his government would introduce legislation to axe the legislation if re-elected in October.

Both the Tory and NDP opposition continued to call for more transparency on why the government chose to enact the legislation.

McMurtry’s report noted Ontario originally looked to Ottawa for more police powers, but was told officers had “sufficient” authority to deal with the G20 Summit.

“The Federal Deputy Minister was clear that in his view the police had sufficient authority at common law and in statute to secure these conferences,” the report says. “Similarly, the OPP were of the view that it was not necessary for the police forces to have any additional police powers, other than those already conferred by virtue of common law and statute...in order to secure the interdiction zones for the Summits.”

The PWPA was introduced in 1939 to protect the province’s hydro electric facilities from Nazi saboteurs, and more recently to permit courtroom searches and enable security at Ontario Power Generation’s power plants."

*

Despite what McGuinty's 'fixer', Jim Bradley, claims, it is actually Bradley, Rick Bartolucci, Dalton McGuinty and the rest of Ontario's scumbag Liberals who are directly to blame for the G20 law which they - not the feds - passed in secret!

What a duplicitous scumbag Jim Bradley has proven to be: the issue is all about his secretive Liberal government's G20 law  - not about whose idea it was to hold the meeting in Toronto!! Cut the crap, Jim!!

The issue is about whose idea it was to pass this fascist-state law IN SECRET !!

Hey, Jim: did McMurtry's report claim anywhere that any federal official participated in your provincial cabinet sessions the day that your Liberals passed your secret G20 law?! Were your Liberals forced by someone to pass this law in secret?!

C'mon Jimmy: out with it, you scumbag!! You're disingenuously blaming the federal government - so, tell us which federal officials passed the secret G20 law!!!! [Good Ole Jimmy's lyin' and tryin' to spin it that his Liberals had nothin' to do with any of this!! Typical!]

And why doesn't Bradley act immediately upon McMurtry's recommendations?! What's with the 'wait till we're re-elected' crap?! There's no need whatsoever to delay and wait for October!!  What arrogant, utterly disgusting dirtbags these Liberals are!

If Iggy needs to know why his federal Liberals got creamed in Ontario, he should look no further than the smug disaster that has unfolded in Liberal Ontario under McGuinty. McGuinty's Liberal lies and incompetence have telegraphed to the federal ranks. Iggy can thank McGuinty and Dwight Duncan for all their "help" in making "Liberal" a "trustworthy" brand.

Andrew Gill vs. Jim Bradley - which Liberal is telling the truth?!

Further to the stories here and here...

...let's see whether McGuinty's Liberal MPP Jim Bradley can explain to Ignatieff's Liberal candidate Andrew Gill about Ontario's positions on corporate tax cuts and on building new jails!
That'd be fun to watch.
Will anyone from the St.Catharines Standard's JimmyBoyFanclub bother to ask Jimmy - or Andy - to 'splain themselves? Running the same Dewar cartoon in the St.Catharines Standard over and over isn't a substitute for real reporting, Ms.Bullis...
Seeing that Gill lives in Ontario, and seeing that his own local Liberal buddy MPP Bradley's government just handed down a Mar.29, 2011 budget which includes lowering corporate tax rates and building new prisons, will Gill swallow the pill and immediately and publicly lodge his protest to Bradley?!
Thought so... what Liberal hypocrisy.
Will Liberal Iggy publicly challenge and ridicule Liberal McGuinty about yesterday's Liberal budget, which stands in stark contrast to the Liberalism which Iggy preaches?!!
Thought so... what Liberal charlatans!
Dwight Duncan - McGuinty's Liberal finance minister, the Grit who wrote yesterday's budget (...ya know: with the tax cuts and jail-buildin') - nevertheless says he will campaign for Ignatieff  (...ya know, who is against tax cuts and jail-buildin'...!!)
The blatant partisan hypocrisy of these Liberal charlatans is exposed for all to see.
And speaking of charlatans, don't forget that our two-faced weasel Bradley himself doesn't really believe in tax cuts: during the Harris years, a sanctimonious Bradley made it abundantly clear that he opposed tax cuts!
But nowww...

McGuinty's swan song

It's amazing how Alberta Liberal David Swann and his medicare-monopoly-pushin' buddies are agitating for a "public inquiry" into Alberta's health-care system; if only Swann would say the exact same thing about Dalton McGuinty's far-worse Liberal-run health-care monopoly in Ontario! Albertans just need to look at what Liberal scumbag monopolist McGuinty has done to Ontario to see the kind of disaster a Liberal future would bring.
Ontarians are heading to the polls in October of 2011, hopefully to get rid of McGuinty and his Liberal lies. Ontario - now a have-not province thanks to McGuinty - has to put up with McGuinty's Liberal bullshit until October; thankfully, this Gritty white-noise will be McGuinty's swan song.

What is Bradley's position on the federal election?

So the Toronto Star tells us that Dalton McGuinty will be campaigning for his federal Liberal brother David during this unnecessary federal election.
How can slimy Liberal Dalton McGuinty - who is promoting provincial corporate tax-cuts - in all honesty campaign for his slimy Liberal sibling, who doesn't believe in corporate tax cuts?! Guess one of them's lyin'; guess it depends on where they are, who they're tryin' to con at any given time, and which way the wind is blowing...
Wonder if the St.Catharines Standard will bother to contact Good Ole Liberal MPP Jim Bradley and ask the Savant of Secord Dr. whether Jimmy'll be campaigning for Liberal Andrew Gill or for Michael Ignatieff?!!
oh yeah... Jimmy can't be reached....
Isn't it also funny how Iggyite Liberals such as Andy Gill sneer at the idea of building prisons (crime? what crime?! ) while at the same time, McGuintyite Liberals such as Public Safety Minister Jim Bradley want to... uh... build more prisons in Ontario.
You can bet the St.Catharines Standard won't bother asking any Grit to explain that, either.

Beware: Ignatieff's "coalition if necessary, but not necessarily coalition" threat is still in play

Coalition Redux, a new/old political horror play directed by Michael Ignatieff.

Hilarious how, suddenly, Ignatieff and his Liberals are pretending that they didn't want an election!!! Wow...
Also interesting to see how Iggy is hiding and ignoring questions about his coalition plans. (Iggy? Hidden agenda? What hidden agenda, eh?!!!!)
All Canadians need to recall power-hungry Iggy's record of past pronouncements; we need to remember Iggy's veiled implied threats as he constantly re-iterated his "Coalition if necessary, but not necessarily coalition" rhetoric.
Remember that two-faced Liberal gobbledygook from Professor Iggy?
Well, Iggy - who purports that he is so trustworthy and honest - still will NOT clarify his 2011 coalition plans with Duceppe and Layton. Iggy simply walked away from a reporters scrum when asked to specifically and publicly clarify his exact stance on a new 2011 re-cobbled coalition. [...Son of Cobbilition, coming soon to a riding near you...!]
All Canadians must remember that Ignatieff was not only eagerly threatening to overthrow a newly-and-duly-elected Canadian government last time, he was also a willing participant in Stephane Bumbledore Dion's failed leftist junta.
After being appointed as Bumbledore's Liberal successor, Ignatieff continued using his "coalition if necessary, but not necessarily coalition" threats.
Now Michael Ignatieff bleats on about 'honest democracy' (!) - while hiding his plans to create his own sequel, Coalition Part Two, in  2011!
Canadians need to see and understand, right here, right now, right from the get-go, that Ignatieff's coalition is STILL in existence; it has not gone away.
Bye-bye Iggy. You can get a cheap flight back to Harvard on Porter...

McGuinty's Liberals are a threat to Ontario

Jim Wilson (MPP Simcoe-Grey) wrote in "McGuinty government a threat to families": (Barrie Examiner)

"Next week, the McGuinty Liberals will present this year's Ontario budget. In light of what Dalton McGuinty has done to household finances, nobody should believe a word that he says.
Let's not forget the 2003 election when Mr. McGuinty said, "I'm telling Ontario families that their taxes will not go up tomorrow, or any day under a Liberal government."
Seven months later, he brought in what was the single largest tax increase in Ontario's history when he implemented the health tax. This greedy tax grab has robbed $18 billion from families and seniors since being implemented -- so much for that pledge not to raise taxes.
During his seven and a half years in office, Mr. McGuinty and his team have added a myriad of new taxes, fees and increased costs onto Ontario families.
The Harmonized Sales Tax added 8% in new taxes to thousands of products and services including haircuts, home heating fuel, electricity and gasoline, just to name a few. All told, this tax will deplete our collective pocketbooks by about $3 billion per year, making it a bigger and even greedier tax grab than the Health Tax.
The Green Energy Act, the $53 million hidden hydro tax, smart meters and time-of-use metering are the latest assaults on household finances. Since 2003, hydro rates have gone up 75%. Over the next 5 years, rates will rise by at least another 46%. That doesn't include Mr. McGuinty's decision to extend the Debt Retirement Charge by seven years, which amounts to $1 billion per year, plus HST.
There have also been hikes in auto insurance rates, while coverage requirements were reduced. He applied the Land Transfer Tax on fractional ownership, implemented the Ontario Tire Stewardship Fee, and increased fees for various government services including Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration and driver testing.
We have the highest tuition rates in all of Canada and the highest fines and penalties for seat belt, speeding and other traffic infractions. Mr. McGuinty increased taxes on beer, wine and spirits and even raised the floor price on beer, and let's not forget his sneaky eco-taxes that he slapped on electronics such as computers, TVs and iPods.
Families now have to use their credit card instead of their OHIP card for eye exams, physiotherapy and chiropractic appointments. In fact, out of pocket health care expenses paid by middle class households jumped by 43% in the last 10 years.
What affect do these endless tax hikes have on households? Well, we're working longer and harder than ever with less and less to show for our efforts. We spend more time on wait lists and lineups for services while the system wastes valuable resources, like at eHealth and Local Health Integration Networks.
Personal bankruptcy figures for Ontario reveal that, in the first nine months of 2010, 37,462 residents declared bankruptcy and the number of consumer bankruptcy proposals filed increased by 26%
Clearly, life in Ontario has changed. Mr. McGuinty has turned Ontario into a have-not province with have-not households.
The Ontario PC Caucus, under the leadership of Tim Hudak, is calling on the McGuinty government to put families first in the Budget and put an end to government waste and abuse of tax dollars. We believe that families need relief for their pocketbooks and respect for how every one of their tax dollars are used.
Families are being forced to make difficult decisions to balance their household budgets. Dalton McGuinty should do the same."
*
That's a good starter list of McGuinty's Liberal failures; let's not forget that Dalton McGuinty's tax-happy Ontario Liberals are also a party of congenital liars, nanny-staters, interventionists, monopolists, health-care-cutters, and global-warming fear-mongers. These are the Liberal smug statists who believe they have a divine right to intervene in private business; who want a command-and-control sovietized economy.

What is essential is that Ontarians get rid of Disastrous Dalton's Liberal regime.

McGuinty lies again about his Liberal HST

Today McGuinty - Ontario's Premier Liberal Liar - once again changed his tune on his Liberal regime's new tax rip-off, the HST.

Remember not that long ago, when McGuinty's lying Liberal scumbags were telling us that their new HST tax grab was going to be "revenue neutral" ?!!!! Remember Dwight Duncan trying to foist that little Liberal deception onto Ontarians?

And then remember that smarmy Liberal, John Wilkinson, saying/lying in the Ontario Legislature that our taxes will GO DOWN ???!!

And yet now, scumbag McGuinty admits that due to his Liberal government's policies, our taxes in Ontario will rise.

WTF, Dalton, you FLICKING venomous snake?

Were your Liberals lying then, or, are you still lying now ??

Once again, this shows that Dalton McGuinty's regime of serial liars CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Here's the Toronto Sun's editorial (May 4, 2010), "Fiberals admit HST will hurt":

"Ever since he was first elected in 2003, the truth and Premier Dalton McGuinty when it comes to taxes have been like two ships passing in the night.

Back then, it was his broken election promise not to raise taxes, as he promptly hit us with one of the largest tax grabs in history.

On Tuesday, after months of bafflegab and happy talk about the 13% Harmonized Sales Tax he’s imposing July 1, McGuinty finally admitted the painfully obvious — it’s going to hit working families. Hard.

Even that belated acknowledgement only came after he was confronted by data from Statistics Canada, requested by NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.

The average HST tax hike, StatsCan says, will be $792 annually per family.

Only families earning under $20,000 come out ahead.

How telling the NDP had to get this information from StatsCan, rather than the Liberals, who have been fudging the facts and hiding the truth about the massive impact of the HST on Ontarians ever since they announced it more than a year ago.

Up until now, they’ve insisted their total tax reform package meant most Ontarians would benefit under tax harmonization, which actually means massively expanding the 8% Ontario sales tax to hundreds of goods and services on which, at present, only the 5% GST applies.

This includes such basic necessities as electricity, gasoline and heat.

On Tuesday, McGuinty finally admitted: “For families at the outset, there will be an increase in taxation,” adding he realizes this won’t be easy on them.

He said that’s why the government is giving them up to $1,000 during the HST implementation period, plus other benefits, to cushion the tax hikes.

Problem is, save for a small income tax cut, the extra cash lasts for just one year. The HST increases are forever.

Plus, they’re hitting just as Ontario struggles to recover from a deep recession.

McGuinty also insisted businesses will pass along savings to consumers resulting from tax harmonization — some day.

“Experience tells us that over time those savings will in fact be passed on to consumers,” he said.
Feel better?

You shouldn’t.

After all, we didn’t dub McGuinty and Co., the “Fiberals” for nothing."

*

Actually, McGuinty's Liberals are beyond being simply mere 'fibbers' - they are pathologically obsessed deceivers, actively and purposefully peddling their duplicity, half-truths, and spin - on issue upon issue, time after time, they have revealed themselves as outright liars.

Liberal CBC pollster reveals recipe for Liberal elitism

Peter Zimonjic wrote in 'Neutral pollster' under fire, here, St.Catharines Standard, Apr.26, 2010:

"The federal Conservatives are asking their supporters to launch a letter writing campaign to the CBC to express displeasure with pollster Frank Graves.

As EKOS Research president, Frank Graves' firm provides regular polling numbers to the CBC, and he also appears on various CBC programs to comment on political issues.

But Graves sparked controversy last week when he gave an interview to the Globe and Mail in which he said Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff should start a "culture war" to win back office.

Graves apparently told the newspaper the Liberals "should invoke a culture war. Cosmopolitanism versus parochialism, secularism versus moralism, Obama versus Palin, tolerance versus racism and homophobia, democracy versus autocracy. If the cranky old men in Alberta don't like it, too bad. Go south and vote for Palin."

After coming under sustained attack from the Conservatives, Graves issued a statement retracting the remarks.

"I used incendiary language that had not been carefully enough considered," the retraction said. "I recognize now that my stark language was understandably offensive to some Canadians."

Graves also maintained that EKOS does not work for any political party.

But on Sunday Senator Doug Finley, the Tories' national campaign director, sent an e-mail to Conservative supporters alleging that Graves has made donations to the Liberal Party and further alleged Graves had provided the Liberals with "strategic advice."

"Week after week Graves expresses opinions about Canadian politics under the guise of being the CBC's neutral pollster on party politics," the e-mail from Finley states. "And just until recently viewers have been kept in the dark about his Liberal contributions and his Liberal advice."

The letter goes on to ask supporters to "write to the CBC and tell them it's unacceptable to present Frank Graves as a neutral pollster on party politics."

Liberal MP Siobhan Coady dismissed the e-mail and remarks insisting it is in fact Finley who is "promoting wedge-politics" by targeting the pollster.

We live in a free country and you can express your opinion," said Coady.

"Mr. Graves was not representing the Liberal Party, was not hired by the Liberal Party, does not give advice to the Liberal Party ... he has an opinion and expressed his opinion on CBC ... there is a freedom of speech in our country last time I checked."
*
Coady's "we live in a free country and you can express your opinion" comment regarding Graves is just so much posturing: we all know this isn't true!! With all the recent phony human-rights-commission witch hunts and this laughable 'black and blue' incident, how can this Grit even pretend to believe it? Speech is only "free" to the point where a Liberal disagrees...

[btw, see Brian MacLeod's strange editorial Defending free speech, but not to the death (Apr.26, 2010, St.Catharines Standard) recommending that free speech be limited in Canada! I wonder how Coady would comment on that editorial?! She'd agree!!]

...and besides, although Coady tries to spin it this way, this isn't about "free speech" at all: it's about the CBC trying to suppress the optics of an incestuous CBC-Liberal relationship. If anything, it's about the LACK of free speech, Siobhan: it's about the CBC and Graves NOT freely revealing the possible conflict of interest to the viewers, each and every time Graves was trotted out on air. Graves claims he's not a Liberal, but is a supporter, and has given them advice - so, was the CBC exhibiting the high standards of journalism expected of them when Graves was used as a commentator? Is this an acceptable example of journalistic integrity from our tax-subsidized CBC? Coady doesn't even mention that.

Coady's partisan-toady defense of Grave's faked-out CBC neutrality is disgusting: 'who...? oh... Graves? ...well, you know... he was minding his own business, just happened to walk by the front door of the CBC one day, and someone just happened to bring him into the studio [on countless occasions!] to ask him, on national, tax-subsidized television, about his opinions' !!!

Really Sioban?!

That's your position? ' No conflict here, folks... run along, now...'

Come on: so how many pollsters OTHER THAN the supposedly 'neutral' Graves did the CBC regularly employ to "express their opinion" [propagandize?] on the CBC?! It's like the CBC asking for neutral information on global warming from David Suzuki for unbiased...oh, wait...yeah...

Why isn't Michael Ignatieff asking the CBC to fire Graves?

Why isn't Iggy outraged about this abuse (proof) of the CBC's neutrality (bias) ?!

Well, simply because to the Liberal perspective, this is all suitable and normal: as Coady amply shows, the Liberals actually cannot see anything wrong with any of this: it's just natural that one their own supporters would be the CBC's resident, supposedly 'unbiased', pollster!! (After all - it is the CBC, right, whaddaya expect! This is yet another reason to get rid of this tax-drain of a phony network. And let's hear Iggy talk about his new divisive role instigating and inflaming 'Canada's culture wars', and let's examine this in context with all the books which the Count has written, where his attitudes on culture were found to be not so flattering.)

And who but Ignatieff himself has been playing "wedge issue" politics - whether promoting abortion or the gun registry, Iggy the Culture Warrior looks like he's already been taking Graves' advice!

And Siobhan Coady should look closely at Graves' advice to her Liberal party (bolded in red above): those recommendations are NOTHING BUT "wedge issue" politics !!

Clearly, it is Coady's Liberal party, and Coady's Liberal party-supporting CBC pollster-boy, who are actually "promoting wedge issues"! What sickening smugness from Siobhan to spin it otherwise!

Graves actually did all Canadians a great public service in his Globe remarks, bluntly revealing for all to see the duplicitous, elitist ethos of Canadian Liberalism: that underlying assumptive smugness of superiority; that 'we're better than you dumb parochial hillbillies' mentality; that 'we are concerned secular humanitarians, you are rural scum' attitude; that 'we know the earth is round and you don't' derision; that 'we are caring, cosmopolitan urban intellectuals, green and clean and as white and pure as the quickly-melting snow, while you are dirty polluters too stupid to care for the planet' arrogance - Graves' advice encapsulates EXACTLY the inherently elitist calculated disdain which is the defining hallmark of Canadian Liberalism.

Just look at Dalton McGuinty or Jim Bradley.

Iggy's worse than Dion?! Time for the parachute.

" 'He has to go': critics " was the headline in the St.Catharines Strandard, just a year ago, back on Oct.17, 2008 (see here):

Grant Lafleche wrote:

"With a tone of sympathy, some local Liberals say its time to say goodbye to Stephane Dion.

The Liberal leader led his party to its worst electoral showing since 1867, losing 19 seats in the House of Commons in Tuesday's election and losing a large percentage of the popular vote.

"That loss of seats is a tremendous blow," Debbie Zimmerman said Thursday. The Niagara regional councillor and former Liberal candidate in the Niagara West-Glanbrook riding said the Liberal losses are an indication the party needs to refocus.

"Clearly, you cannot lay the blame completely on Stephane Dion and I think the Green Shift is a good idea for Canada," she said. "But I also think the party needs to take a hard look at itself and decide if Mr. Dion is the person to move the party forward." "

Here we are, in November 2009, and the Liberal King Iggy is EVEN LESS POPULAR (see here) than Stephane Bumbledore Dion EVER was!

Where is Lafleche's article now, asking local Liberals whether Michael Ignatieff 'has got to go'??

What - no interview today with local Liberal Zimmerman regarding Iggy's stupendous flame-out as the Liberal's once-new, now-stale wizard-leader?!

There was just a by-election in four federal ridings - where Iggy lost in all four ridings, gaining NOTHING!! Zero out of four!!

He's done worse than that bumbling doofus Dion, if anyone can believe it!! Isn't Iggy's dopey uninspiring leadership a "tremendous blow" to the Grits, Ms. Zimmerman? Who is Zimmerman going to blame this time, seeing that (hahaha) she couldn't bring herself to blame Dion and his Green Shift tax-grab last time?!

The Liberal brand has NOT refocused; the Liberals are still simply out of touch. Iggy's just as much a token Liberal seat-warmer, a caretaker - and a sloppy one, at that - as Dion ever was.

Liberals moved swiftly to put the knife in Dion's back - Bumbledore was gone as leader on Dec.10, 2008, when Count Iggy was acclaimed to the High Liberal Throne. But they just replaced one incompetent with another.

Dec.10, 2009 will be Ignatieff's first anniversary wearing the Liberals' Crown of Entitlement; it would also be a good date to hand Iggy his parachute back to academia.

Unless, of course, Liberals such as Zimmerman want Iggy to stick around, just so that this time they WILL have a fall-guy to blame as their rudderless brand self-destructs.

Does Iggy really need (or want) to become a patsy?

Ignatieff should take the advice Forrest Gump was lucky to get: Run, Iggy... Run !!

Despite Jim Coyle's roars, McGuinty's still a scumbag

Jim Coyle's severely disturbed (here) when he refuses (confuses?!) to acknowledge who the real demagogues are in Ontario: Dalton McGuinty and his lying Liberal scumbags are Ontario's demagogues. Whaddaya expect from the Toronto Red Tsar, anyway?
