Kathleen Wynne's Ontario Liberals implement HoskinScare TM health-care cuts

Further to this previous post...
Let's move forward to Chris Malette's Nov.21, 2015 Inside Belleville Metroland Media report about health-care cuts being implemented in Belleville, Ontario, where the QHC "admitted that the news was difficult to announce. The restructuring is intended to allow QHC to remove $11.5 million in expenses next year in order to operate within its reduced funding levels from the province. This includes a $7-million reduction in administration/support departments and $4.5 million in patient care areas, QHC said"
This is the EXACT same duplicitous healthcare-cutting template, which the Liberals followed in Niagara!
Liberal healthcare hack Hoskins is doing the same things that Smitherman, Caplan, and Matthews did before him.
The healthcare budget is set at the whim of health minister Eric Hoskins' monopolist Liberals - therefore, cuts need to be made... end of story!
As an Ontario patient, you have no other choice -
this is HoskinScare TM for you - thanks Dr. Eric!
And: isn't it sadly funny, how Metroland writer Chris Malette didn't even mention the words Kathleen Wynne, Liberal, or Eric Hoskins, in his story!! It's as if... let's see... oh yeah: it's as if Liberals have NOTHING TO DO WITH IT !!!
Wow!! Nice 'reporting' - anyone reading this Metroland Media half-story would never know that any Liberal had anything to do with these health care cuts!!! Amazing!!! Malette's article is the kind of article that could be found in Postmedia's St.Catharines Standard, where MPP Jim Bradley and his Liberal policies have been routinely babied and coddled by the local press, for decades!!!
I'm sure that if this same scenario had unfolded under 'harris', it would have been gleefully noted dozens of times per Metroland article!! (Metroland Media never lets readers down, eh, Mr. Beland Honderich?!)
Here's Belleville's MPP, Progressive Conservative Todd Smith, speaking about the QHC cuts - isn't it funny that Metroland Media reporter Malette didn't even ask the local MPP for an interview!!!
MPP Todd Smith said:
"Fall is in the air and because it is, that can only mean one thing: Another round of cuts and staff uncertainty at Quinte Healthcare hospitals. To make up for an $11.5-million funding shortfall created largely because Ontario’s Liberal government can’t manage money, jobs and services will be cut at hospitals in Picton, Belleville, Bancroft and Trenton. Money is being spent on debt that people in Prince Edward–Hastings want spent on the services they need in their hospitals.
This morning, we learned that in order to close the $11.5-million shortfall, QHC is proposing a reduction of nearly all surgery services at Trenton Memorial, $4.5 million in direct care cuts and changes that one QHC executive calls “very hard on our staff.”
During the years of this government, QHC has been the recipient of almost continual funding shortfalls from the ministry.
Speaker, if I could, I’d like to direct some comments directly to my constituency back at home: The deficit this government is running is costing you your health care services. QHC has had to come up $25 million in cuts over four years to make up for funding shortfalls because the Liberal government at Queen’s Park doesn’t have any money left. The government says money is going into better home care services but the Auditor General says services are being cut there too to pay for fat-cat salaries.
The third largest expense in the budget is how much we pay to service our debt and it’s also the fastest growing.
That’s why cuts like this have gone from being rare to happening annually."

Yet if one reads only Malette's Metroland Media 'report', one would think - as residents of Niagara were similarly conditioned to believe by their local media - that it was just the board of the local hospital making all these 'decisions'!
The link to the Ontario Liberal government's direct monopolist diktat of health-care cuts is not clearly made, at all!!
This is Liberal healthcare duplicity, in its finest most despotic mode.
Let's note again - before Liberal monopoly-supporting, single-payer-defending sycophants start deflecting blame onto the QHC - that the blame squarely belongs to Kathleen Wynne's health-cutting, monopoly-pushing Liberals.
As similarly happened in Niagara, the NHS and the NHS's CEO were conveniently targeted as scapegoats for implementing what were purely Liberal-mandated monopolist health-care cuts.
In Niagara, local Liberal MPP Jim Bradley sat back and smiled contentedly as the local media spun blame onto the NHS - while all along it was Bradley's duplicitous Ontario Liberal government which created the phony budgets and the phony budget cuts in order to manipulate the health-care cuts.
Remember the meme: health-care cuts are 'good' when monopolist Liberals or the NDP do it!
*
Let's fast forward to this Oct.24, 2021 CBC story, which is ostensibly about former PM Jean Chretien talking about Justin Turdo. It's astounding how CBC treats the dictator hack Cretin with such reverence.
We know (but the CBC fails to mention) the DIRECT LINK between Cretin's and Paul Martin's downloading of healthcare funding onto the provinces.
This DIRECTLY impacted Ontario's monoploy state-funded, single-payer health system.
The resultant fallout was that Ontario's Liberal MPP's quickly began blaming the province for 'healthcare cuts' - which their own federal Lib colleagues set in motion). The "Conservatives cut health care" narrative /meme / lie was thus created and happily propagated by the leftist media. Crapbags such as Liberal MPP Jim Bradley in Niagara was one of  many Ontario MPP Libs who benefitted from the disaster that their own federal colleagues created. They spewed the "Conservatives cut health care" lie for years.

Liberals Kathleen Wynne and MPP Jim Bradley deny cancer drugs to Ontario mother

As Global News (Oct.28, 2013) reported, Kathleen Wynne's Ontario Liberals are denying cancer-treating drug therapy to a Milton, Ontario, mother.

Yes, you read this correctly: this is the single-payer-pushing, monopoly-enforcing Ontario Liberal government of Kathleen Wynne which is denying the cancer-treatment drug Avastin to an Ontario patient.

This is also St.Catharines Liberal hack MPP Jim Bradley who is denying cancer treatment to Ontario citizens. (This is the same Liberal hack Jim Bradley who would like you to believe that... ummm... that it's Mike Harris doing this..!)

But you will NOT hear a peep of concern about this from the Jim Bradley Fan Club (aka St.Catharines Standard). After all, what's any of this gotta do wid Ole Jimmy, anyways - right??!!  Far be it for Grant Lafleche, Doug Herod, or Don Fraser to bother asking Ole Jim Bradley about why his Liberals are denying cancer treatment to Kimm Fletcher.

Feh: this ain't got nothin' ta do wid our boy Jim Bradley! Liberal Jimmy means well! Why should we bother Ole Jimmy?!

And after all - doncha know? - the 'Planet Is In Peril', according to the St.Catharines Standard and Jim Bradley!

After all - doncha know?! - Liberal MPP Jim Bradley is gallantly Battling Evil Conservatives and Oil Barons!! Jim Bradley is Fighting Climate Change to Save The Earth from DOOOOOOOMM!!!

That is what is important here: to divert readers' attention from Ole GreenFear Jimmy's role in denying cancer treatment to Ontario patients, and thereby exposing - once again - MPP Jim Bradley's Liberal healthcare duplicity!! Why, it's just best that the local Niagara press not write about it!! Why bring attention about Ontario's cruel Liberal Environment Minister Jim Bradley being more interested in the Planet than the patient - right?!

Ontario's Liberals do not want Ontarians to ask about, or to remember, why Ontario Ombudsman Andre Marin had to investigate the "cruel" McGuinty government's pathetic behaviour in the Suzanne Aucoin case: see Liberal Healthcare Duplicity - pages 8, 9, 45, 56, 62 ,69, 70, 71, 72 ,73 ,74, 75.

Niagara's Liberal-ass-kissing press won't be asking Ole Liberal Jim Bradley about the parallels between Kimm Fletcher's struggles with Wynne's Liberals now, and Suzanne Aucoin's struggles with McGuinty's Liberals several years ago. (After all, who was Suzanne Aucoin, anyway?! What's she got to do with any of this?! see here; here)

Of course, Kathleen Wynne knows all about Ombudsman Andre Marin's report regarding Suzanne Aucoin: Wynne was a loyal Liberal MPP from day one - from 2003 - happily and proudly supporting Smitherman's and McGuinty's dirty drug-denying-deeds.

Wynne stood proudly with her Liberal colleagues Bradley, McGuinty and Smitherman, while they refused to call a C.diff inquiry in Ontario, when hundreds of infected patients were dying!

Wynne proudly cheered as Greg Sorbara raised the McGuinty health tax, after her lying Liberals campaigned on NOT raising any taxes!

Wynne was a very proud Liberal when her Dear Leader Dalton McGuinty walked away from cancer patient Mike Brady! (What... have y'all forgotten about that proud moment of Ontario Liberal smarm?! Kathleen and Jim Bradley hope that you'd forget!)

Wynne was a proud Liberal when McGuinty abandoned the people of Caledonia; when her Ontario Liberals passed their secret G-20 law; when her Liberals were using secret-code names to vapourize a billion dollars from Ontario's treasury, in order to to buy themselves  an election.

Wynne was proud of her Liberal government's disgusting deeds. Wynne was already in McGuinty's cabinet when Ombudsman Marin released his Aucoin report, which called McGuinty's Liberal healthcare system a "cruel game".

Now, Liberal Premier Kathleen "Cruella" Wynne is proudly playing the very same "cruel game" with patients' lives, which her hallowed predecessor Dalton McGuinty had played.

Obviously, Niagara's Liberal-besotted press can't bring any of that up, eh?!

Unless it would be to try to make Wynne or Jim Bradley look good - which is exactly what Niagara's press did manage to pull off with Bradley vis-à-vis Aucoin: portray Liberal hack Jim Bradley as some kind of hero in Aucoin's struggle, rather than examine Jim Bradley as one of the main perps causing her troubles, due to his single-payer-pushing monopolism.

Jim Bradley and his Liberal monopolists WERE the 'problem' when it came to Aucoin's dilemma; yet Bradley was carefully rehabilitated in the press and somehow portrayed as having nothing to do with any of it!! Now, it looks like Ole Katy - the McGuinty cruel clone - has nothin' to do with it either.

No St. Catharines Standard Sun Media reporter will dare ask Katy Cruella Wynne about why her Liberals are denying cancer treatment to this Ontario patient!! Lafleche and the other Standard hacks have had weeks to ask Premier Cruella or Jim GreenFear Bradley about it.

The St.Catharines Standard's Bradley Laundry Team still hasn't yet unwrapped Ole Jim from his last Cone Of Silence treatment, surrounding Jim Bradley's reaction to the Auditor's gas-plant report! There has been NO local coverage of Jim Bradley's reaction to the revealed billion-dollar-plus cost of Jim Bradley's GreenFear-instigated bungled gas-plant/seat-buying fiasco!

How many cancer patients would have benefitted had Ontario not been subjected to the horrendous costs of Bradley's and Smitherman's GreenFear fiascos?
Rest assured: No-one from the St.Catharines Standard will dare ask Ole Liberal Buddy EnviroJimmy about that!! (...of course, the Standard  hacks would be earnestly and busily asking all kinds of questions - - - had it been a Conservative government minister..!)

Yep: it's just that easy in Niagara for Liberal MPP Jim Bradley to pull his BS over and over for three decades, and get a free pass while doing so.

- Just look at Doug Herod's fine piece of Bradley worshipping-stenography in the Nov.2, 2013 St.Catharines Standard.
Egads:
- was Doug finally going to ask EnviroJimmy about how Jimmy's GreenFear bolshevism led to Ontario's Liberal billion-dollar gas-plant scandal, which caused the resignation of Dalton McGuinty?
Yowzers:
- was Doug finally going to reveal Bradley's reaction to the Auditor's gas-plant report?
Gosh:
- was Doug finally going to ask Jim Bradley about his still-secret-as-of-2013 "scientific proof" for AGW?
Yikes:
- was Doug about to ask why Jimmy and his Liberals are still denying cancer care drugs to Ontarians, the way Bradley and his Liberals had done to Suzanne Aucoin??
Sheesh:
- don't worry about Doug bothering Good Ole Jimmy with pesky questions about any o' that!!
Nope:
- all we got from Doug was a predictable puff-ball non-story (...y'know, the kind Don Fraser would do...) of dinosaur Bradley waxing on about the Good Ole prehistoric days, when politics (apparently to Jimmy) were "more jovial" and "people were buddies with one another even though they were of different political stripes, as opposed to trying to kick each other in the groin".
Funny:
- Doug Herod never reported asking Buddy Liberal MPP Jim "I hate doctors" Bradley about how many groins Bradley has kicked.
Yep:
- Doug Herod, loyal Standard stenographer, blissfully left Bradley's kumbaya BS unchallenged! Why, gosh, if Jimmy said it, it must be true; therefore, it cannot... MUST NOT... be questioned!!
Why, golly, Doug Herod was just dutifully helping zip Ole Liberal Jim Bradley into yet another comfy Cone of Silence!!!

It is as if the act of questioning Liberal Jim Bradley's failing, hypocritical health monopolism was/is kryptonite - anathema - to the personal agendas of Jimmy's Fan Club.
When it came time for examining Jim Bradley's sordid Liberal politics, Liberal-parroting stenography took precedence over journalism in Niagara's press. Often, this well-crafted, thoughtfully-spun, Lib-friendly biased stenography is still simply passed off as being 'journalism', no other viewpoints need apply. Criticism of Jim Bradley's Liberal politics is not appreciated, practically verboten.

- Just look at Grant Lafleche's masterfully phony "editorial" in the Oct.23, 2013 St.Catharines Standard, whining on about "home care funding" - yet LaFleche purposefully neglects to mention anything about the Ontario Liberal government, or of local St.Catharines monopoly-pusher Liberal Jim Bradley!
Lafleche carefully alludes to "the" or to "our" "government" and its "hollow" promises, but Gaia-darn-it, Ole Grant just can't bear to mention Jim Bradley's or Deb Matthews' Liberal roles in any of this!
Now, that's some finger-lickin'-good Warren Kinsella-zation at work in Niagara's press!  Give Ole Grant anudder award!!

Hypocrite Liberal MPP Jim Bradley is the one 'kicking' Ontario's cancer patients 'in the groin' -  but you can't trust that a St.Catharines Standard columnist would dare write about that.

- Just look at another earlier laughable Grant Lafleche "report", "NHS faces $12 million shortfall; No new funding; savings must come from within" (St.Catharines Standard, Oct.10, 2013), where Grant slants his "report" and purposefully fails to mention that it is Ontario's LIBERAL government which is underfunding the Niagara Health System!!

Ole Grant LaFleche flushed that fact down the propaganda toilet!
Gawrsh - why drag any Liberals into this - eh, Grant?! What could Liberal health-care-monopoly-pushing hack Jim Bradley have to do with any of this... eh, Grant?!

LaFleche didn't mention that it is Liberal Kathleen Wynne now underfunding the NHS, just as Liberal McGuinty had done before her, through the Liberal LHIN bureaucracy, which McGuinty and Smitherman had created. What's that gotta do wid any o' dis - right Grant?!

LaFleche didn't mention that the NHS is being underfunded (not by "Queen's Park", as Ole Grant likes to deceptively spin it) but by Kathleen Wynne's Liberals with the fawning support of Andrea Horwath and her NDP socialist enablers!!
Good Ole Grant conveniently doesn't see any connection here, between his story, and the political single-payer-pushing enablers who have allowed the underfunding to continue! Nothing to see here folks... move along now. Hey: lookit Rob Ford! Lookit!! Way over there... Lookit!!!

In fact, this is not a "new" story at all: the same underfunding crap has been going on with Ontario's Liberal healthcare monopolists and the NHS for nearly a decade now.

LaFleche - of course! - did not bother to get local Niagara Liberal hack MPP Jim Bradley to explain why his Liberals continually manage to underfund Niagara's hospital system, yet at the same time (in order to ...ummm... "save the planet") Jim Bradley's Liberals manage to blow a billion bucks on their GreenFear-propagated gas-plant fiasco.

Great Gaia - why would Ole Grant bother askin' Ole Jimmy any o' dis stuff...?!
The Standard isn't allowed to ask Liberal Jim Bradley anything about 'righting' his own Liberal wrongs!! hahaha  (...and this is nothing new for LaFleche!)

LaFleche writes: “There is still a lot of work to do on this, obviously, but we are going to have to make big and bold decisions,” interim CEO Sue Matthews said.

Matthews said the NHS has a clear process that dictates how it can trim money from the budget. The NHS first looks to increase revenue, including parking fees, cafeteria prices, rent and other services. Next, it can look at cutting back administration and support services, which also includes infection control, laundry, food services and hospital management. "

LaFleche - strangely hahahaha - doesn't bother asking anybody - certainly not any Liberal - about Sue Matthews' cost-cutting comments, and LaFleche just let the comment about cutting back on infection control, slide right by, without any examination whatsoever!!

Yep: can you imagine the smug, sanctimonious uproar from the St.Catharines Standard's Bradley Shoeshine Club, had this been said by an NHS official while a Conservative government was in power?!

We'd never the hear the end of the Bradleyites bleating about it!

Yet - under Jim Bradley's watch - talk about cutting infection control in Liberal-monopoly-enforced hospitals is simply just sloughed off, simply ignored, simply goes unchallenged by the St.Catharines Standard Bradley Butt Kisser!!!
Suddenly: no-one cares! Isn't that astounding?!
Better give Grant anudder coupla awards... cuz, gosh, he deserves them!!

- LaFleche - strangely hahahaha - didn't even bother to interview St.Catharines hack Mayor Brian McMullan about any of this, either.
After all: the Standard liked to get Mayor McFullofit to blab on about healthcare, when it was convenient to have a proxy for Jim Bradley, while Bradley was warmly wrapped in one of his many media-enabled Cones Of Silence!
Why didn't LaFleche provide any comments from Mayor McFullofit this time?!

After all, we should recall how Mayor Brian McFullofit was sanctimoniously blabbering in June of 2011 (during Niagara's Summer of Liberal C. difficile Death) about how he wanted to know why the C. difficile outbreak happened in Niagara, and how to prevent it from happening again!!

Yes: that's what the supposedly-oh-so-concerned St.Catharines hack Mayor Brian McMullan was saying in June of 2011; yet, hypocrite McMullan never bothered to actually do something about it at the time, such as demand that a public inquiry be called into the Liberal's deadly C. difficile fiasco.

Mayor Brian McMullan just needed to pretend that he 'wanted to know how it happened', but really, Mayor McFullofit didn't give a sh!t about how it happened, neither then, nor now. It was just baseless rhetoric. It was all a show.

And so now - in 2013 - when the cutting of hospital infection control in St.Catharines rears its ugly head again - St.Catharines Mayor Brian McMullan - the shameful hypocrite hack - buries his head in the sand, and now has nothing to say about it!
But, oohhhh, just two years ago, how desperately Mayor McFullofit had wanted us to believe that he cared...
that he cared so much...
and that he cared oh-so deeply...
and that he really 'wanted to know how the outbreak started'...
and that he really 'wanted to know how to prevent it'!
What utter pretension, what utter crap! What a con!

Yet now, the St.Catharines Standard cannot bring itself to ask St.Catharines Mayor Brian McMullan if he's concerned about the NHS's recent talk about cutting infection control measures vis-à-vis Liberal underfunding!
Can't dare criticize Jim Bradley's Liberal single-payer health-care despotism, y'see.

When it comes time to discussing infection control in Jim Bradley's Liberal health monopoly, you can trust that the Jim Bradley Fan Club in St.Catharines will loyally cover up for their Boy Bradley, in the same way the Standard disgustingly covered up for Jim Bradley during the NHS's Summer of C. difficile Death.
(Lafleche himself reported in one of his stories ("C.diff is back: Outbreak in Falls", St.Catharines Standard, Dec.8, 2011) about Sue Matthews at that time saying that 'maintaining enhanced infection control measures at NHS sites will cost about $1 million annually' - and this was above what the 2011 Summer of  Liberal C.diff Death hard dollar costs were. Lafleche reported that Matthews in Oct. 2011 had said that the costs of  that killer Niagara NHS outbreak were estimated at $1.5 to 2 million. Yet, by 2013, Lafleche failed to mention any of that stuff from 2011! When Sue Matthews brought up the spectre of hospital infection cuts in 2013, why didn't Lafleche refer back to his OWN 2011story, and question Matthews about that very same important topic? Lafleche ignored the issue of infection control cuts under Liberal rule, and let it just slide by...)

Ontario Liberals Dalton McGuinty, George Smitherman, and Jim Bradley denied cancer coverage to Suzanne Aucoin, until Ontario's Ombudsman had to investigate the matter; now Liberals Kathleen Wynne, Deb Matthews, and Jim Bradley are doing that again with Kimm Fletcher.

It's the same thing, all over again - it's Aucoin-Redux. It's George Smitherman morphing into Deb Matthews; its Deb Matthews channeling Smitherman. It's Groundhog Day starring health-monopoly hack Jim Bradley. It's Jim Bradley and his healthcare-denying bait-and-switch Deja-Vu Revue. Guess the same Ombudsman will now have to investigate this case as well. At least Andre Marin has seen this health-horror-movie before, and is now familiar with the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals' two-faced tactics.

Niagara's press is surely already developing angles to shield, cover, and divert attention away from their glittering jewel Jimmy Bradley.

Once again, the press' protective Cone of Silence will be lovingly lowered upon Liberal MPP Jim Bradley by his fifth-columnist sycophants.

See writer Lori Williams' plea to the Liberal health-care-cutter Kathleen Wynne http://www.thespec.com/opinion-story/5768423-dear-kathleen-wynne-please-find-this-woman-a-hospital-bed/ (Hamilton Spectator, Jul.31, 2015):
"Dear Ms. Wynne:
I am writing you today in regards to Laura Hillier, the young woman in Burlington who, with intense treatment, is currently in remission from acute myelogenous leukemia. She is 18 years of age and just recently graduated in my daughter's class from Nelson High School.
Laura and her family were elated to find out that there was more than one match for Laura to move forward for a stem cell transplant recently. Imagine what that kind of news felt like for Laura and her loved ones! Except that they very quickly found out that Laura would not be imminently receiving the transplant due to a lack of beds. What a blow this must have been to them.
The chemotherapy drug that Laura needs to endure to keep her cancer in remission has already caused permanent damage to her vision. It caused a brain infection that spread to her retina. Having this treatment again for an extended period of time while waiting for a bed seems unruly and cruel to put it mildly and may result in further damage or even worse.
Although I do not know Laura, I know of the worry and struggles of someone battling this horrible disease called cancer.
Through my daughter Meghan, I know that Laura is not only an incredible student but also an incredible person. She has set an example to her graduating class of how life should be lived by everyone. Her positivity, infectious personality and zest for life shaped approximately 400 students at Nelson and as an extension, their families as well.
I have never met Laura but I partially credit her for showing my daughter how life should be approached which is a quality that is invaluable especially as Meghan moves on to university in the fall. As I sit here thinking of all the planning that comes from sending your child off to university, I can't help but think of Laura.
I have always taken for granted that Meghan would go through elementary school, high school and then university and we are fortunate that all of this has occurred. All parents think of this, but that has not been the case for Laura's mom, Frances Hillier. Instead of getting ready for university, Laura is in the fight for her life; instead of Frances thinking about meal plans, supplies she needs and Skyping with her daughter, she is worried that a bed will not become available in time to save her precious daughter's life.
I have read all the articles on wait-lists, the different kinds of stem cell transplants and the "strained system" but that is little comfort to Laura and her family. We are fortunate to live in a country where we pride ourselves on equality and justice for all. We need to do everything in our power to find this young lady a bed so she can move on with her treatment. I implore you to provide the necessary support this family needs to provide Laura the provisions to move forward with her stem cell transplant.
Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Lori Williams

Does any Ontario Liberal - such as Liberal MPP Jim Bradley - care about any of this?!?
Patients suffering in Ontario - who cares about that?
Liberal hacks Jim Bradley and Kathleen Wynne have a Planet To Save!!
By July, 2015, Kathleen Wynne, on behalf of the provincial Ontario Liberal Party, was busy polluting a federal election campaign with her disgusting ideology (and acting as a proxy for Justin Trudeau) rather than acknowledge and rectify the demonstrably colossal failure of her own disgusting Liberalism in Ontario.

McGuinty held secret union meetings before he bailed

In my earlier post here...

... we were treated to Liberal Deb Matthews spreading her Liberal duplicity that health care was somehow 'not political' in Ontario.

Now, we see this Toronto Star Oct.18, 2012 report revealing that Dalton McGuinty was holding secret meetings in his Queen's Park office just last week, with his labour allies and union buddies - including Linda Haslam-Stroud, president of the Ontario Nurses Association.

So... umm.. health care isn't political, eh Deb? That's your patronizing position??

And McGuinty's clan aren't serial Liberal liars?? Quick, someone from the Niagara press - don't ask Jim Bradley about any of this.

Deb Matthews pretends Ontario healthcare is NOT political!

Nice to see Liberal Deb Matthews patronizingly continue to spout the Liberal lie that somehow in Ontario, the topic of hospitals or health care is magically 'not political'!

You see, to Health Minister Deb, when her Liberals are in power, healthcare is magically apolitical; yet, when harris-hatin' Liberals were in opposition, healthcare was always political - and, of course, it still is: Ontarians have been forced by politicians into a single-payer, state-run health monopoly, where patients have no choice. This callous ideology has been practised and enforced with brutal relish by McGuinty's duplicitous Liberals for nearly a decade.

The same sanctimonious line has been uttered in the past, by the likes of Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor, and they were as full of rhetorical Liberal crap then, as Deb is now.

If  Deb is seriously trying to angle for McGuinty's job, well, then, lying about government-run-monopoly health-care as not being political, is exactly the kind of bullshit that could make Deb a Lieberal leader.

That's what Liberal voters demand: illusion.
*
...and, because healthcare is 'not political' (according to Health Minister Deb) then why are people such as Linda Haslam Stroud attending cozy meetings in McGuinty's office, out of public view?! Oh, Deb - the deceptions you and your Liberals spin!!

CBC protects Liberal Jim Bradley from C. difficile scrutiny

Funny how the CBC's  television show Marketplace, on Mar.23, 2012, was about filthy hospitals - focusing mainly on Ontario, and in particularly on hospitals in Hamilton and in Niagara.

Kevin Smith (who is also the NHS's Supervisor) was interviewed about the CBC's claims that his hospitals were apparently not maintaining a thorough cleaning regimen. Smith squirmed slightly, but weaseled out of any responsibilty for what he was shown by the CBC reporter.

Of course, the Niagara Health System was notorious for its deadly 2011-2012 C. difficile outbreaks - yet AMAZINGLY (hahaha) the CBC reporter DID NOT BOTHER to mention or interview the monopoly-pushing Liberals who are in charge of health care in Niagara: MPP's Jim Bradley, or Kim Craitor!!

The CBC focused on Smith, but avoided asking any questions whatsoever of the Liberal hacks Craitor and Bradley, in whose ridings' hospitals the CBC carried out some of their investigation!!

Smith was appointed BY Craitor and Bradley's Liberals!

Why didn't the CBC bother to ask the Liberal MPP's in Niagara not only the very same questions which the CBC asked of Smith, but also then ask Kimmy'n'Jimmy to comment on their own appointee/employee Smith's answers?!

Funny: it's as if Liberal MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor have nothing to do with Niagara's filthy hospitals!!

It's as if Kevin Smith is somehow in charge of funding McGuinty's Liberal health-care monopoly!!

The CBC could have asked Good Ole Liberal hack Jim Bradley to explain why Bradley VANISHED from Niagara for months, when C.diff patients were dying in his infected health monopoly's hospitals.

The CBC didn't even bother to interview Liberal health minister Deb Matthews, either!! After all, if Kimmy'n'Jimmy got nothin' to do with it, what would Matthews have to do with it?! hahaha

Furthermore, the CBC didn't bother to interview the secretive organization which oversees the NHS: the Niagara LHIN - which was also created by Jim Bradley's and Kim Craitor's Liberals!!!!

No one from the CBC bothered to question the Liberal-appointed hacks at the LHIN about their own filthy hospitals!!

Funny, eh?! (That's what Liberal-biased "fake news" looked like, and that's what it did: distort, deflect and distract from attaching any culpability to any Liberal for the disasters in their own socialist health-care nirvana)

Funny: the CBC (...as did the St.Catharines Bradley Shoe-shiner) simply covered-over Jim Bradley's complicity in the C.diff deaths in Niagara, by not asking Good Ole Jimmy about why his Liberals quashed a public C. diff inquiry in 2008, which could have prevented the subsequent C. diff outbreak in Niagara in 2011!!

The media bent over backwards to distract from any link between the Liberals' secrecy in 2008, to another (preventable) killer outbreak in 2011. The narrative was these events had nothing to do with each other.

No: the CBC didn't... umm...  have the time or inclination to examine Jim Bradley's, George Smitherman's, and the rest of the McGuinty monopolist gang's role in bringing on the C. diff crisis in Niagara in 2011, by purposefully quashing (hiding from) a C. diff inquiry in 2008!! (...and no amount of political cleanser will clear that ugly stain from Jim Bradley's record.)

The CBC chose Kevin Smith as an easy target for blame, blatantly diverting everyone's attention from the real culprits - from Smith's bosses: Ontario's health-monopoly-pushing McGuinty Liberals.

McGuinty refuses to fire Disingenuous Deb Matthews

As McGuinty's Liberals, such as Rick Bartolucci, happily continue to cut healthcare... [closing 30 hospital beds won't affect seniors, Ole Secret-G20-law Bartolucci laughably says!] ...we also see how Disingenuous Deb, McGuinty's ignorant/incompetent health minister, still refuses to resign after the release of auditor McCarter's report on the ORNGE scandal.

What's more, McGuinty refuses to do the right thing, and fire Matthews. The waste of more millions of tax dollars is obviously not of any concern to McGuinty: this is peanuts to the billions McGuinty's Liberal fools have already squandered!

Millions upon millions of  health-care dollars were wasted by McGuinty's monopoly-pushing Liberal ideologues, while these same sanctimonious Liberals closed hospital beds throughout Ontario.

Liberal hacks Kim Craitor, Jim Bradley and Rick Bartolucci must be oh so proud.

Why doesn't McGuinty explain why burn unit patients are exported to States?

Don't tell the Shona Holmes-hating lefty Sickos that "28 people have been taken across the border by fixed-wing aircraft... These patients are normally in need of a burn unit or neurology bed and must be flown to the U.S. for care as there is no space in an Ontario hospital". After all, American buffoons such as Mike Dukakis claim that no-one from Canada ever goes to the States for health care!!
Amazing, that Liberal Deb Matthews refuses to explain why her Liberal health monopoly has "no space" for burn victims in Ontario [this is nothing new for McGuinty's Liberals] and still exports patients to the States, that country which Liberal smarmeisters McGuinty and Gritty Ole Jim Bradley hate so much.
*

Jim Bradley claims there is no "pot of gold", yet, forgets his Liberals' ORNGE and Green wasted billions!

Finally, Liberal Deb Matthews has decided to throw Liberal George the Diaperman / Smitherman under the ORNGE bus!
Classic.
As if  Dalton 'the buck always stops somewhere else' McGuinty wasn't fully to blame for what his "hand-picked" deputy premier Smitherman had been allowed to get away with!!!!
Yet, we still get laughable GreenFear-peddling reports from the St.Catharines Standard, happily reporting Environment Minister Jim Bradley talking piously about how there's no "pot of gold out there to spread around" - yet, Shawn Jeffords and Wendy Metcalfe strangley ha ha ha forgot to ask Good Ole Jimmy to explain why there was a stinkin' large pot of Liberal ORNGE waste, and even a larger stinkin' pot of Liberal green waste!!!!
Maybe the yellow-rag should colour itself red.

Liberal monopoly-pusher Jim Bradley will be cutting health-care coverage

Looks like Jim Bradley, Kim Craitor, and their Liberals are going to cut healthcare again.
Yeah: you've read it correctly: Jimmy'N'Kimmy's Liberals are once again (as Smitherman had previously done) poised to delist previously covered health care - this is the same recycled, deceptive old Michael Decter/ Bob Rae-style canard of 'we're saving health care by cutting health care".
Let's remember those clowns in Niagara who happily voted for this monopolist Liberal scumbag Bradley; hope they're satisfied with Bradley's Liberal incompetence.
I'm sure that Niagara's Liberal-friendly press barons 'Wendy Williscraft and Mike Metcalfe' are already carefully planning pre-emptive ways to not interview their local Liberal Jim Bradley about any of this, and to not bother examining how a deceptive Bradley for years had ominously fear-mongered about 'harris' - yet, Bradley ended up doing the exact things which he (...along with Niagara's helpful Bradley-booster press...) had sanctimoniously fear-mongered that 'harris' would do!
The St.Catharines Standard, certainly, will be spinning their stories any which way they can [...''lookit, lookit: Drummond made them do it! McGuinty and Matthews had no choice!!"] in order not to examine the last thirty years of Liberal MPP Jim Bradley's failing deceptive allegiance to Tommy Douglas.

Smitherman's Overpowering Stench of Liberal Incompetence

Adam Radwanski wrote in "DIFFERENT STANDARDS: Deb Matthews unlikely to be given a pink slip over Ornge controversy", (Globe and Mail, Jan.20, 2012):

Little more than two years ago, Dalton McGuinty set an ostensibly high standard for ministerial accountability.
It didn’t matter that David Caplan bore less responsibility for the mess at eHealth Ontario than his predecessor, George Smitherman. Mr. Caplan was the Health Minister when the scandal over contracts and expenditures broke, and was judged not to have done enough to prevent it. So he was dumped from cabinet, never to return.
Based on that precedent, the woman who replaced Mr. Caplan should be feeling pretty nervous about now. The controversy at Ornge, the province’s air-ambulance service, bears a striking similarity to eHealth in the way it has unfolded – an ambitious system reform implemented in some haste under Mr. Smitherman that has blown up in a successor’s face. In some ways it might actually be worse, since the current controversy goes beyond business practices to life-and-death questions about the quality of emergency services.
But the early signs are that, while she’s in for an unpleasant few weeks or months, Health Minister Deb Matthews will keep her job. And Mr. McGuinty will be left trying to talk his way around a cruel reality of politics – that different ministers are subject to different standards.
Mr. Caplan, although well-liked by many of his colleagues, was considered dispensable by the Premier. Despite his senior posting, he was never quite in the top rung of cabinet, and he wasn’t central to the government’s plans. Although he had files that he tried to move forward – notably, and admirably, mental health – he was something of a placeholder.
Ms. Matthews is a different story. In fact, with the exception of Finance Minister Dwight Duncan, she’s the one front-bencher Mr. McGuinty can’t afford to lose.
Ms. Matthews has been tasked with flattening health-care spending increases at about 3 per cent annually – a monumental challenge that’s central to the government’s hopes of eliminating its $16-billion deficit. Largely based on trouncing the province’s pharmacists in a fight over prescription drug costs, the Premier’s office is convinced she’s the minister best suited to winning necessary battles with vested interests.
Even beyond her own portfolio, Ms. Matthews plays a pivotal role in her party. Along with Municipal Affairs Minister Kathleen Wynne, she carries tremendous sway with the Liberals’ centre-left. And Mr. McGuinty is counting on her to help get buy-in, including from many of her cabinet and caucus colleagues, for the government’s austerity agenda.
But, of course, Mr. McGuinty won’t just come out and say any of this. And that’s going to place him in a very difficult position if, for instance, ongoing investigations show any conflict between the air-ambulance agency’s non-profit, public operations and its private ones – not to mention if other investigations show deficiencies in emergency responses. Amid allegations that Ms. Matthews was warned about problems with Ornge and didn’t take sufficient action, how will the Liberals explain why Ms. Matthews gets to keep her job, when Mr. Caplan didn’t?
In part, it appears, they will do so by trying to direct blame toward Mr. Smitherman – something they stayed away from during the furor over eHealth, when he was preparing to run for mayor of Toronto.
Mr. Smitherman didn’t win any friends earlier this month when he wrote to the Toronto Star accusing his successors of failing to oversee or even understand Ornge’s operations. And while Mr. McGuinty hasn’t publicly criticized his former minister, other Liberals have been increasingly willing to take potshots.
The Liberals will also try to draw a distinction between eHealth and Ornge, by noting that the latter functions far more independently than the former, and thus lends itself less to ministerial oversight.
And to some extent, they'll just wait until we start talking about something else.
Among the reasons Ornge has got so much attention lately is that the government hasn’t been making much other news. That will change within the next few weeks, when the release of economist Don Drummond’s public-service report kickstarts a tumultuous budget process. Next to the spending decisions to come, controversy over an agency that receives $150-million annually may seem like small potatoes.
Still, it’s highly unlikely that opposition politicians will be able to resist calling for Ms. Matthews’ head when the Legislature returns next month. And since Mr. McGuinty gave them their pound of flesh last time, it will be hard to blame them.
*

Of course, Deb Matthews must be fired for what has transpired under her watch: McGuinty MUST take accountability for the Liberal-approved piles of policy sh!t which Smitherman left stinking, hidden throughout Ontario.

Smitherman was McGuinty's hand-picked glorious golden boy; McGuinty gave Smitherman free reign to destroy health care throughout Ontario. Smitherman's actions are a direct reflection of McGuinty's poor judgement.

If Caplan got his ass kicked out for essentially what Smitherman did, then the same should apply to Matthews. ORNGE is McGuinty's fiasco as well as Smitherman's: let's not forget, Smitherman WAS ALSO McGUINTY'S hand-picked Deputy Premier of Ontario!! These stinking piles of Liberal crap which still fester in Ontario were not perpetrated by some low-level Liberal hack, these policy fiascos came right from the top, from the highest positions in a Liberal majority, untouchable government!!  This goes right to the heart of McGuinty's faulty "trust" in Smitherman, a mis-judgement which has now been revealed in spades. McGuinty must act to recognize the utter fiasco which Smitherman created - under McGuinty's tutelage.

AdRad writes that McGuinty tasked Matthews with "flattening health care spending increases"! Sounds like a polite euphemism for "health care cuts" - y'know, the kind of "cuts" which Good Ole Liberal MPP Jim Bradley had often enjoyed sanctimoniously chortling about, when he smear-mongered 'harris' in opposition!

AdRad doesn't quite get to the rest of the frightening Liberal ideology which is at play here: that these cuts - ooops: 'flattened increases' - are occurring to a populace trapped within a Liberal no-patient-choice, morally and financially bankrupt, state-controlled monopolist setting.

Smitherman's Liberal stench still haunts Ontario

Martin Regg Cohn in the Toronto Star, Jan.11, 2012, noted how that disastrous former Liberal hack George Smitherman's festering turds are still smelling throughout Ontario.
Earlier on it was David Caplan who found Smitherman's piles of eHealth shit sticking to him; then we had Smitherman's secretive multi-billion-dollar GreenFear-instigated Samsung deal; now it's Deb Matthews' turn to wipe Smitherman's droppings from her shoes, dealing with the air ambulance fiasco, which has Smitherman's stench all over it, though Furious Diaperman claims he had nothing to do with this dump:

"...Last month, infuriated by a series of Star articles, she [Matthews] sidelined the charismatic Chris Mazza from his perch as CEO — he of the egregious $1.4 million annual income.
This week, she swept aside the rest of that legacy by bouncing the interim ORNGE president and the entire board. The affiliated Ornge Global Solutions — whose questionable side deals were shrouded in secrecy — will be wound down.
Matthews is not covered in glory here, nor are the Liberals. The government ignored persistent opposition questioning for months, and it took sustained coverage in the Star to ratchet up the pressure.
But she has acted decisively against an organization that was midwifed by her government and is still heavily staffed by Liberal insiders. Mazza’s rise to power at ORNGE came courtesy of former health minister George Smitherman, who eagerly embraced his vision for a privatized air ambulance service. As with ORNGE, Smitherman’s fingerprints are also on eHealth — another notorious political albatross that Matthews inherited.
But in retirement, Smitherman refuses to wear any of this, blaming his successors for dropping the ball and insisting he would never have let things get out of hand. In an 800-word letter-to-the-editor published online last month, he lashed out at the Liberal government.
“That the ministry did not conduct proper oversight, and did not (as of two days ago) understand what was happening at ORNGE, is a commentary on my successors and the ministry,” he argued. “The lack of a defence of the Ontario Air Ambulance service shows a withering backbone that day in and day out becomes a more prominent feature of the current government.”...
*
Smitherman will probably also deny that he had anything to do with the NHS's HIP; that it was all solely somehow Harris' fault... oh, and Debbie Sevenpifer's... but certainly neither he nor his LHIN had anything to do with it!!
And, so what about that continuing C.difficile outbreak in Niagara in 2011-12? Only 40 patients dead?! What's that got to do with Smitherman's secretive Liberals in 2008 quashing a C.difficile public inquiry, at a time when hundreds of  C. diff patients died in Ontario?
Cohn could look into that, seeing as that Niagara's local Liberal friendly press couldn't be bothered to.
*
By Jan.19, 2012, the CBC  and  CTV were reporting about 4 alleged deaths in relation to ORNGE.

McGuinty tries to hide from his Liberal health-care obligations

Lee Greenberg wrote in "Ontario Liberals back health ‘innovation fund’",  Ottawa Citizen, Jan.15, 2012):

" An idea designed to supplement a 10-year, take-it-or-leave-it health funding deal tabled by the federal Conservatives last month will receive key backing by Premier Dalton McGuinty at this week’s meeting of premiers and territorial leaders.
McGuinty officials say the Ontario premier likes Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall’s idea to create a separate ‘innovation fund’ that would add more cash to the criticized deal while also targeting specific health reforms.
Ontario has said it would like to see additional funds available for seniors and home care. It is unclear whether McGuinty will be able to convince his colleagues to adopt similar goals.
Typically, the outcome of meetings between premiers is pre-ordained. The two-day meeting in Victoria, B.C. is a rare example to the contrary. “I think there’s a little more movement at this one,” said a senior Ontario official.
Ontario officials would like to see unified support behind Wall’s idea, leading to a stronger bargaining position with the federal government.
“The hope would be that we would put some meat on the bones,” the official said. “We need to define what it will cover and how much it will be worth. I think that’s one of the most interesting things that will come out of this (session).”
Ontario officials wanted a new federal health accord with six-per-cent annual hikes in each year of a 10-year deal. Instead, they got six per cent in the first three years and a promise to tie the increase to grwoth in the GDP thereafter.
McGuinty has said that proposal, presented by federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty as both a preliminary and final offer, is “less than ideal.”
The country’s largest province is seeking both more cash (the federal government funds less than one-quarter of all health spending in Ontario) and more unified goals, similar to the emphasis placed on wait times in the current health accord, which expires in 2014.
“There may an opportunity for us now to develop a consensus in terms of creating a transformation fund or an innovation fund the way we did with (former) prime minister (Paul) Martin,” McGuinty said on Friday. “Where the feds supply some additional funding and in return for that, we agree to pursue innovation in some distinctive areas. I’m hoping we can develop a consensus around that.”
McGuinty’s health minister, Deb Matthews, says Flaherty’s “bombshell” ultimatum will undo considerable national momentum on health reforms.
“They’re cutting back transfers to the provinces just as the demographic shift will be moving into full gear. It’s a very poorly thought-out proposal,” she said.
“I learn, and my officials learn, from practices in other provinces. When I go to a (meeting) with other health ministers I come back with a lot of good ideas from successes they’ve had in other provinces.”
Ironically, many provinces have in the past bucked at receiving funding with strings attached, says health reform expert Dr. Michael Rachlis. Now that the federal government has removed conditions on funding, some, like Ontario, are complaining.
Rachlis, who authored the book Prescription for Excellence: How Innovation is Saving Canada’s Health Care System, said much of the Victoria get-together is posturing on the part of the provinces. He says the reductions in federal health spending are considerably less than portrayed by the provinces.
“This is all about the spin, about who can we blame for health care problems in the future,” he said. “They’re setting up the feds to be the bogeyman for having problems with their budgets.”
Ontario received $10.2 billion in federal health funding in 2010-11. The total health and long-term care budget was $45 billion that year. (The province received $97 million that same year in targeted funding for wait time reductions.)
Any reductions in health funding would hit Ontario particularly hard. Health currently accounts for 46 per cent of total government spending and is growing at a disproportionate pace. Left unchecked, experts warn it will take up 80 per cent of the provincial budget by 2030.
The McGuinty government has telegraphed significant reforms beginning in the upcoming March budget.
At the same time, the government has come under severe criticism for some of its spending practices. It gave doctors raises of up to 40 per cent over three years, for example, in return for specific reforms, but has done “virtually no work” to learn whether the hundreds of millions in spending has resulted in better service, according to Auditor General Jim McCarter.
Rachlis credits the province for good work on reducing wait times, but says the areas of reform it now wants targeted could have been acted upon decades ago."
*

Rachlis here has cut to the chase: Liberal hypocrites, such as McGuinty's lying scumbags in Ontario, are looking anywhere else but at themselves for the problems in their health-care monopoly-fiefdoms.

Dalton McGuinty, Jim Bradley, Kim Craitor, Deb Matthews: these Ontario Liberals are all about posturing  and duplicity.

Vote-buying Liberals were all about smugly waving the Canadian flag alongside the myth of endless "free" medicare, spouting homilies to Tommy Douglas, while at the same time officially demonizing and denouncing ANY "innovations" whatsoever within their health monopoly status-quo.

One needs only to look, for example, at the track record - a thirty-plus year record - of Ontario Liberal MPP Jim Bradley's utterly smarmy adherence to failing health-care monopolism; to Bradley's kneejerk reactionary maintenance of the single-payer statist status-quo; to Bradley's disdain and dismissal of even the slightest innovations.

Bradley's Liberals had eight years of majority government during which to "innovate": now, all of a sudden, Bradley's Liberal hacks are spinning it that Harper has somehow failed them?!?!?! [pot: meet kettle...]

The "problem" with health care in Ontario isn't Harper or Conservatives; the problem is anti-choice, anti-innovation statists like Bradley and his lying hypocrite Liberals.

Liberal MPP admits McGuinty's health-care delivery is all backwards

Further to Kim Craitor's supposedly new-found penchant for cost-cutting and private member's bills, when will we see his Liberal proposals to sell their LCBO liquor monopoly?!

Funny also, how Craitor is only now telling us (which he did not tell us before the Oct.2011 election) that:

"We're spending a lot of money on health care, but we're not measuring whether patients are being cared for properly," said Craitor. "So, we're spending more and more, but what are we getting? When it comes to the delivery of health care, we've kind of done it backwards. We need to start putting patients at the front end. Patient care has to come first.""

...yet, no local press has bothered to question Craitor about his sweeping statements!

How can it be that over the course of 8 YEARS, in a majority-Liberal-controlled health monopoly, no Liberal has bothered to measure what their monopoly is spending our health-care taxes on?!

So now Craitor has revealed to us that, when his Liberals raised their health care tax and cut previous coverage, they, in effect, didn't know what they were doing!

Now Craitor tells Ontarians that McGuinty's despotic Liberal health-care-monopoly-pushers have been doing it all backwards for eight years!!!

Whaaaaaat?!

Where are Niagara's grand press barons, the Liberal-friendly amalgam of  'Wendy Williscraft/Mike Metcalfe', when it comes time to assessing the Liberal's ideological proclivity to enforce a backwards, unaccountable health-monopoly onto patients, while at the same time falsely pretending that they are putting patients first?!

Craitor should be interviewed and scrutinized by the national press for his statements. We cannot rely on Niagara's inbred Liberal-licking press for any non-status-quo analysis of Liberal health care policy and its corresponding hypocrisy.

Why hasn't Liberal Deb Matthews responded to Liberal Kim Craitor's statements?

Funny also, that McGuinty's Liberals just chopped $66-million from the research budget that serves universities and hospitals, yet, the St.Catharines Standard hasn't yet shown us a cartoon of Liberals Jim Bradley, Dalton McGuinty, and Brad Duguid, dressed in their red ermine robes, with toilet paper hanging out of their asses, being assaulted for setting fire to hospitals and schools. Don't hear the St.Catharines Standard now wailing about how Jim Bradley is against health care research, because... well... Jimmy's a Liberal, and therefore, can do no wrong!!

Just imagine the Standard's (...and Jim Bradley's!) smug, unending, outrage if a conservative had done this!!

Who is responsible for Tommy Douglas' negligence?

Further to this previous post...
Sidney Braun wrote in "National spirit not part of health care" (National Post, Dec.24, 2011):

Re: In Defence Of Public Health Care, letter to the editor, Dec. 23. Linda Silas, president of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions, fails to recognize her own "evidence-empty" (and very tired) arguments and alludes to facts and reasons, but lists none. Funding for health care is already divided between the public, insurance and private/corporate purse. Health care isn't about national spirit - it is about delivering quality care to those who need it. The problem is not in the funding but rather in the delivery, which is due to lack of accountability. Publicly funded and privately delivered health care is what we need to really ensure that quality care in a timely fashion is indeed provided for those who need it. If publicly funded and privately delivered care costs less, why is that not the Canadian way?
*

Canada's reactionary political enforcers of status-quo  health-care, and their sycophantic self-appointed higher-moral-standard-bearing symbionts, have a very comfortable monopoly they insist on protecting and propagating.
Isn't the argument now really about private-parallel, ie, privately-funded/privately delivered , NOT about publicly-funded/-privately-delivered ?!
The latter is essentially what we already have now.
This is about going beyond monopolist, state-controlled, single-payer health-care; it is about introducing privately-funded/privately delivered health care, in other words: non-state-funded health care, parallel with the state's public (but non-monopoly) care.
But it's not surprising that the status-quo-enforcing monopolists are still agitating even against relatively innocuous improvements within the publicly-funded/privately-delivered category.
Let's recall that reactionary Liberals even demonized their own health minister Pierre Pettigrew for daring to suggest that provinces in Canada should be allowed to mildly experiment with health care in the publicly-funded/privately-delivered realm!! (see here, pg.17-20) And the same reactionary leftists also demonized John Tory for essentially saying the same thing.
Neither Silas, nor Liberal monopolists such as Deb Matthews, nor Jim Bradley, nor Kim Craitor, have yet explained who is accountable for the deaths of dozens of C. diff victims in Niagara's McGuinty-run-public-health-monopoly this year.
No one's accountable when the state's monopolists are in charge.

The NHS should be treated as a crime scene

Further to my previous post ...

...the Dec.20, 2011 St.Catharines Standard reported that a C.difficile patient had died Dec.18 at GNGH, the hospital in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Oh, and a Norovirus outbreak was declared in Niagara as well, at the Welland hospital.
The story by Brett Clarkson, of course, did not mention any comments or reaction from the two local Niagara Liberal health-care monopolists, Kim Craitor or Jim Bradley, whose government runs the infection-plagued Niagara health monopoly.
No mention was made of any comments from the LHIN; and of course, no mention was made of any comments from health minister Deb Matthews.
Funny how the big-mouth local monopolist mayors such as Brian McMullan and Jim Diodati weren't asked for their comments either.
There have been no demands from these mayors that a public inquiry be called into the C.diff horror which McGuinty's Liberals have subjected our population to. Diodati and McMullan are quiet as church mice when it comes to demanding answers from their Liberal MPP's about these scores of Niagara patient deaths. Better to still blame Harris, eh?!
So, let's just forget - as Niagara's monopolist-friendly status-quo-supporting press has done - about examining Dalton McGuinty's Liberal impact on Niagara's 2011 C.diff deaths due to his Liberal's secretive decision to hide from a public C.diff inquiry back in 2008!!
The NHS should be treated as a crime scene: why isn't it?

Roy Romanow shills for McGuinty Liberal health-care cuts

Pauline Tam wrote in "Quick action on healthcare best" (Ottawa Citizen, Dec.20, 2011):

"Roy Romanow, the former Saskatchewan premier who slashed medicare in an effort to save it, has fighting words for Premier Dalton McGuinty, whose minority government is seeking ways to rein in skyrocketing health-care costs.
No matter how the McGuinty Liberals decide to cut spending and reshape Ontario's health system, they should act decisively, move fast and brace for political heat, said Romanow.
"What you have to do is implement the reforms as quickly as you can and as effectively as you can in order to get the population to understand that it isn't all bad," Romanow said in an interview. "In fact, it's probably the right thing to do."
The Ontario government, crippled by a $16-billion deficit and weakening economy, is contemplating spending cuts and changes to the health system that broadly resemble those of deficit-plagued Saskatchewan in the 1990s. As premier of the province that invented medicare, Romanow enraged many people by closing hospitals, slashing public drug spending and reorganizing the way health services were delivered.
Rural residents grumbled about losing their hospitals - and the jobs that went with them. Scores of nurses were laid off. Doctors complained about their diminished clout.
Voters and labour unions were particularly shocked that the austerity measures came from an NDP government that styled itself a guardian of Tommy Douglas's medicare legacy.
The Ontario Health Coalition, a pro-medicare group, has warned that this province faces a similar fate, which would jeopardize the quality of patient care.
Yet despite fierce public opposition, Romanow's reforms allowed Saskatchewan to balance its budget three years into his term and won his party a second majority government.
Romanow said he tried to remain faithful to medicare's core values of fairness and compassion. He indicated, for example, that his government avoided privatizing certain health services or introducing user fees, which would only have shifted costs from the public purse to individuals who had to pay out of pocket.
Such an approach would have done nothing to reduce the overall share of provincial wealth devoted to health spending - a situation that McGuinty also understands, said Romanow. "In my judgment, I think Premier McGuinty has recognized the traps of false economy. I would say Premier McGuinty is making all the right overtures.""
*

Wow - just look at that:

Romanow is a now some kinda FLICKING socialist hero for trotting out the Michael Decter-ian contradiction of "slashing medicare, in order to save it" (see here, pg.11-12).

It was Romanow's NDP predecessor Tommy Douglas who invented the "false economy" called medicare!

Now, Roy Romanow has strangely somehow become a fountain of sage advice for Dalton McGuinty's monopolist Liberal ideologues?!?! WTF?

Romanow was squeezed by the Martin/Chretien health cuts, as Ontario's Mike Harris also was - yet look at who's now being touted as some kind of advisor/ hero to the Liberals, and who's been incessantly demonized by the lib left!

The only Liberal overture playing here in Ontario is a prelude to tragedy, with McGuinty's faux-finance minister Dwight Duncan Don Drummond and faux-health minister Deb Matthews Romanow setting the sombre tone.

Enjoy your holidays; next year will be real ugly.
*
The whitewashing of Michael Decter, the normalization of Decter, the rehabilitation of Decter, was on full display in the Toronto Star's Feb.27, 2017  story cleverly written by Theresa Boyle. Boyle for some reason, chose to mention Decter in her story, yet, did not bother to mention (ie covered up) Decter's fascistic role in cutting health care during his stint with Bob Rae' NDP socialists. Again, the biased Toronto Star peddles FAKE NEWS (peppered with skewed bias). Boyle could have revealed Decter's destructive politics, but decided to hide (to propagandize) that Decter's own doings then, are quite relevant to the issues going on now - much as the Toronto Star's own role was (and is) for that matter.

... and here we thought the hospital ER's in Fort Erie and Port Colborne were closed!

Nice to see the St.Catharines Standard can't even bring itself to accurately report who appointed the NHS's hospital Supervisor, Kevin Smith.
The Standard's Grant Lafleche in his Nov.10, 2011 front page story wrote of "the NHS's Queen's Park-appointed supervisor Kevin Smith" - as if  Liberal health minister Deb Matthews HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH APPOINTING KEVIN SMITH!!
Yah: "Queen's Park" appointed the guy!!!! ...Blame those two maple trees over there - and that one, that sneaky chestnut: they did it!...
Oh, and, get this: we are now being admonished for thinking that the hospital emergency rooms in Fort Erie and Port Colborne were "closed", when they were simply "repurposed"!! Did you get that nice piece of spin ?!?
We are now told that it was "misinformation" and dastardly "political rhetoric" which led us astray, to foolishly mis-perceive that Liberal-forced "restructuring" closed two Niagara ER's; we are supposed to now believe that they WEREN'T closed, depending on what "closed" means, that is...
WTF?!?
Look who's spouting the rhetoric!
So now, an Urgent Care Centre = Emergency Room/ Emergency Department to the bait-and-switch Liberal monopolists?
Lafleche, naturally, couldn't be bothered to report that this "restructuring" was called the HIP - and that the HIP was forced upon the NHS by, and approved for implementation by, McGuinty's Liberals, through George Smitherman and his LHIN. To whose "political advantage" is it for the Standard to deliberately omit that?!!
Yep: Fort Erie's ER was NOT "closed" - and apparently, then, Port Colborne's ER is still "open" as well - they never were "closed" (we dummies just mistakenly thought so..!); they've been open since the Liberals closed them, doncha know!!
The 'reputation of the NHS is damaged' - yet, amazingly, the reputation of the Liberals who FLICKED it up, is beyond reproach.
So there ya go: there's no need to interview Niagara's Liberal hacks Jim Bradley or Kim Craitor about any of Terry Flynn's report... and dutifully, that's exactly what the Standard did.
*
...and that's exactly what the St.Catharines Standard did again the next day, on Nov.11, 2011: carried another story regarding Terry Flynn's NHS report, a story which miraculously did not contain a single mention of, or reaction from, Liberal hacks Kim Craitor, Jim Bradley, or Deb Matthews!
Now, that's some kind o' wrong-rightin' by Wendy Metcalfe's Liberal Shoeshine Club!

Who's really 'responsible' for the actions of the NHS?

Further to  this post  and  this post  and  this post  about the Doreen Wallace incident at GNGH in Niagara Falls, Ontario...

.... there was a related story by Brett Clarkson of The Niagara Falls Review (Nov.8, 2011) headlined 'Quality of caring missed the mark'...
[...by the way: note carefully how the phrase "health care monopoly" doesn't appear anywhere in Brett Clarkson's narrative; and neither is there any examination of, or even mention about, the role of the Liberals who have controlled the Niagara Health System for eight years, and under whose ideological tutelage this incident occurred... it's as if  Ontario's Liberals have nothing to do with any of this (!)...]:

"The Niagara Health System's internal review of a woman who was told to await an ambulance after she fell inside Greater Niagara General Hospital has found that the hospital's "quality of caring missed the mark."
"That's an understatement," said Gaylene Archibald, the daughter of Doreen Wallace, 82.
Wallace fell in the doorway of GNGH on Oct. 8 after washing her hands at a sanitizer station, breaking her leg.
Wallace agreed with the miss-the-mark description.
At the hospital to visit her then-ailing husband, who died shortly after, the Walmart greeter lay on the floor after her fall, injured and bleeding, for what her family has said was 28 minutes.
Although several staffers helped her out, the family said that other nurses from the hospital's emergency department wouldn't assist Wallace, saying that there was nothing they could do and that they would call for an ambulance.
The incident sparked an outcry that led to national and international media coverage that questioned the rationale of hospital staff telling a patient who was injured inside the hospital to await an ambulance.
The controversy prompted NHS provincial supervisor Kevin Smith to call for a review of what happened.
On Monday, he issued a statement saying the review had been done. He said that "confusion" on the part of the nurses around what to do in that kind of situation caused the incident.
"I think that there was frankly confusion in their mind as to what was the appropriate thing to do," Smith said.
Smith said that going forward, the hospital needs to address "three core elements" to overcome the lack of clarity among staff.
He also said frontline workers have told him they feel there are not enough resources at the hospital to confront the sheer volume of people needing care.
"One, the hospital needs to be really clear about what our standards and expectations and to that end, make sure that people at various sites are clear on what we do when we have a patient in distress," Smith said. "And secondly, I think the hospital is looking very seriously looking at some of the feedback we have from staff who clearly are feeling overwhelmed with the volume and complexity of cases."
The third area of focus, Smith said, needs to accountability and clarity when it comes to implementing policies.
Although the Wallace case was not technically the same as two prior situations over the summer involving Coun. Joyce Morocco and Ridgeway woman Jennifer James, who were both denied care outside the hospital when hospital staff told family members to call 911, Smith acknowledged the optics were similar.
Smith said he takes responsibility for the incident.
"I'm the supervisor of the hospital so certainly I take responsibility for everything to that end," Smith said. "I think what's more important is I think that people involved in the care process are taking responsibility and discussing how do we make sure this doesn't happen, how do we get those issues out on the table."
While Smith's statement said the staffers — a security guard, ICU nurse, and orthopedic surgeon — who responded to help Wallace "acted in exemplary fashion," the overall incident represented "poor judgment by some members of our team" as well as "management's failure to ensure the clarity of our processes and procedures."
Archibald said she had spoken to NHS interim CEO Sue Matthews last week and was told that steps were being taken to ensure a similar incident never happens again.
"If they've done what they said they have, it's a step in the right direction, definitely," Archibald said.
Archibald said she was told two nurses were disciplined and all staff have been instructed about what to do if someone inside the hospital needs care.
Smith said he wouldn't be able to comment on disciplinary matters.
Wallace wasn't ready to give the assessment a ringing endorsement, but she was willing to hope for the best.
"If they do implement it, yes, but it was supposed to have been in place after Joyce Morocco, but look what happened," Wallace said. "So, I don't know. A lot of the conversations with them, they're just clearing their butt. They don't say too much. I don't know, if it works, yes, it would be fine.
Smith's statement:
November 7, 2011
Our organization has completed its review of the incident at Greater Niagara General Hospital.
On Saturday, October 8, Ms. Doreen Wallace fell at Greater Niagara General Hospital Site. The family understandably expressed concerns about the way in which the organization responded to Ms. Wallace's distress.
Our review confirmed that several individuals acted in an exemplary fashion including the security guard and housekeeper as first responders, the ICU nurse who came to the patient's assistance before, and an Orthopedic Surgeon, who assessed and transported the patient to the Emergency Department.
Unfortunately we failed to transfer the patient to the Emergency Department from the lobby until 20 minutes had elapsed. Despite the best of intentions our effort was uncoordinated, resulting in Ms. Wallace receiving less than appropriate initial assessment and institution of treatment. Our quality of caring missed the mark.
In our follow up we have been in regular contact with the family, and are incorporating their suggestions and considering their observations as we improve our approach and processes.
This incident does represent poor judgment by some members of our team, as well as management's failure to ensure the clarity of our processes and procedures for assisting individuals in distress and communication of our standard of care.
I would be remiss if I did not also recognize the significant morale and demoralization reported by some staff, who clearly expressed feeling consistently overwhelmed. This must be a longer term issue we must address, including a review of ER staffing models. You will hear more from me with respect to the process and timeline to do so in the very near future.
Human resource policies have been followed with respect to individual performance in this case. Immediate actions have been taken to re-educate staff and clarify our processes.
NHS's policy for response to any visitor in distress will be to ensure a rapid response and transport to the most appropriate clinical setting, calling a code as appropriate. A small working group has been struck to review all NHS codes to ensure we are aligned with peer hospitals to be completed by November 18, 2011.
Each of us will be called to apply sound judgment to determine the safest, fastest, most effective and compassionate way to support persons in distress. Those needing assistance outside NHS sites will be addressed on a case by case basis, recognizing the risks for patients and staff. We have also worked closely with our EMS colleagues to ensure aligned practices and improved communication with respect to 911 calls.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kevin Smith
NHS Supervisor"

Unless Wallace sues, there will be no accountability here, for anything.

Smith has completed his internal review; well... big whoop. How about this incident being investigated by someone from the outside?!

The health care monopoly relies on everyone buying into the great untouchable Liberal monopolist medicare myth, and not rocking the boat.

The golden rule is that no one is really to blame - for anything; we're supposed to believe 'that's just how the system is', and move on... that, apparently, is Kevin Smith's 'Canadian Way'.

Liberal-enforced ideological single-payer health-care monopolism, and the cozy, lazy, protective can't-blame-me entitlements it brings and encourages, are never questioned, by anyone in the Liberal-friendly Niagara press.

Liberal monopolists such as Jim Bradley, Kim Craitor, and Deb Matthews are held harmless from liability, although they fully control the hospital system; the Liberals rely on incidents such as Wallace's to be downplayed and swept under the rug as one-off anecdotes, as simple misunderstandings, as mere inconvenient little oversights, in Tommy Douglas's Great Radiant Medicare Future.

Supervisor Smith says 'he takes responsibility' for the Wallace incident, but, what does that really mean? Is he actually accountable? What consequences does Smith suffer for his so-called "responsibility"?!! Or is all this just simply a placebo of monopolist rhetoric?

In all this "confusion", it's certainly confusing, isn't it, how the Liberal political monopolist establishment is never held "responsible", for anything!

Aren't Liberal monopolists Jim Bradley, Kim Craitor, and their Liberal-appointed LHIN's "responsible" for anything here?! Isn't Deb Matthews "responsible" - after all, she's only Ontario's Liberal Health Minister! What does any of this have anything to do with her, eh??!

Why isn't  the Liberal-besotted Niagara press asking?!
How much longer will Niagara press barons Williscraft's and Metcalfe's papers continue to cover the Liberal's butts?
