Let's move forward to Chris Malette's Nov.21, 2015 Inside Belleville Metroland Media report about health-care cuts being implemented in Belleville, Ontario, where the QHC "admitted that the news was difficult to announce. The restructuring is intended to allow QHC to remove $11.5 million in expenses next year in order to operate within its reduced funding levels from the province. This includes a $7-million reduction in administration/support departments and $4.5 million in patient care areas, QHC said"
This is the EXACT same duplicitous healthcare-cutting template, which the Liberals followed in Niagara!

"Fall is in the air and because it is, that can only mean one thing: Another round of cuts and staff uncertainty at Quinte Healthcare hospitals. To make up for an $11.5-million funding shortfall created largely because Ontario’s Liberal government can’t manage money, jobs and services will be cut at hospitals in Picton, Belleville, Bancroft and Trenton. Money is being spent on debt that people in Prince Edward–Hastings want spent on the services they need in their hospitals.
This morning, we learned that in order to close the $11.5-million shortfall, QHC is proposing a reduction of nearly all surgery services at Trenton Memorial, $4.5 million in direct care cuts and changes that one QHC executive calls “very hard on our staff.”
During the years of this government, QHC has been the recipient of almost continual funding shortfalls from the ministry.
Speaker, if I could, I’d like to direct some comments directly to my constituency back at home: The deficit this government is running is costing you your health care services. QHC has had to come up $25 million in cuts over four years to make up for funding shortfalls because the Liberal government at Queen’s Park doesn’t have any money left. The government says money is going into better home care services but the Auditor General says services are being cut there too to pay for fat-cat salaries.
The third largest expense in the budget is how much we pay to service our debt and it’s also the fastest growing.
That’s why cuts like this have gone from being rare to happening annually."

Yet if one reads only Malette's Metroland Media 'report', one would think - as residents of Niagara were similarly conditioned to believe by their local media - that it was just the board of the local hospital making all these 'decisions'!

As similarly happened in Niagara, the NHS and the NHS's CEO were conveniently targeted as scapegoats for implementing what were purely Liberal-mandated monopolist health-care cuts.
In Niagara, local Liberal MPP Jim Bradley sat back and smiled contentedly as the local media spun blame onto the NHS - while all along it was Bradley's duplicitous Ontario Liberal government which created the phony budgets and the phony budget cuts in order to manipulate the health-care cuts.

It's funny how the St.Catharines Standard Bradley Bootlicker had absolutley no coverage of the Niagara LHIN's pathetic healthcare performance, as was outlined in a Feb.19, 2013 Hamilton Spectator story.

The Spectator story noted that "during the most-recently reported quarter, the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant LHIN registered either the second-worst or third-worst performance out of 14 LHINs in each of the three categories".

Isn't it funny that, say, the Standard's Don Fraser wasn't immediately sent out in the rain on his waterskis to interview Niagara's Liberal healthcare-monopoly-pushing-hack, Ole Jim Bradley, for his comments on his Liberal health-care monopoly's abysmal record!

Isn't that what would have happened, had some Conservative been our local MPP?! Sure it would have!!

If it was anyone else but Ole Liberal Jimmy, Wendy Metcalfe's self-appointed laughable wrong-righters would have been falling over themselves to ambush the politician and demand answers!!

As Jim Rankin wrote in the Star story:

"...Hajinian and her brother were amazed by the level of care [in the United States] and both feel her case highlights a major problem with health care in Ontario and Canada.

Despite a petition and campaign to get her help, including pleas to MPs, MPPs and a package Babikian personally delivered to Premier Dalton McGuinty, the system, in this case, did not deliver in a timely fashion, says Babikian.

“We never heard anything from them,” said Babikian.

With all of the money spent on health care in Canada, they don’t comprehend why they had to put so much effort — for so long — into a futile hunt for specialized help in Canada.

The quest for care has taken a toll. Her husband suffered a minor stroke and caring for her has stressed the extended family.

“We don’t want any more Ontarians to live through the hell that we lived through for the last 13 years,” said Babikan. “Why do we need to put hard-working Ontarians and their families through, to be honest, what is emotional terrorism by our own government. This is not a third-world country where you hear of such stories.”

If all goes as hoped with her recovery, the money spent on her surgery may actually save Canadian taxpayers the added long term health care and other costs that Hajinian most likely would have racked up without the surgery.

“Our health care system needs a serious revision, serious reform,” said Babikian. “I don’t understand how these bureaucrats make these decisions.”

Hajinian says she heard from more than one Canadian doctor that the U.S. doctors would do the surgery just for the money.

“But why would they risk their reputation for a $30,000 surgery?” wondered Hajinian. “It wasn’t for the money. They provided the service and they were concerned...”

"PORT COLBORNE - Dr. Nick Hopkins recalled a stroke patient who arrived the Gates Vascular Institute paralyzed and unable to speak.
Not long ago, that patient would have spent her remaining years in a nursing home — if she patient survived.
Instead, she walked out of the hospital a day later to carry on with a normal life. One that Hopkins learned recently included participation in a San Diego marathon six months after she was discharged from the Buffalo institute.
“This is the kind of result we can get,” Hopkins said, adding it’s an example of “a whole new paradigm for the treatment of acute stroke” offered over the river.
“Right now there’s no place in southern Ontario where you can get that kind of treatment.”
Hopkins was one of several physicians and health care administrators from Kaleida Health hospital system in Buffalo as well as the University of Rochester Medical Centre who visited Port Colborne Monday to meet with South Niagara Health Care Corp. to discuss the benefits of crossing the border to access medical services that are not available locally.
South Niagara Health Care Corp. general manager Joanne Ferraccioli said that kind partnership is not without precedent.
She said Dr. Gord Vail, a physician from Windsor, worked with the Local Health Integrated Network, the provincial government and hospitals in Detroit to allow select patients to travel to Detroit for treatments not available in the Windsor area.
As a result, she said it has resulted in better outcomes for select patients “and the reimbursement rate through OHIP is actually lower, it’s actually more fiscally responsible.”
Patients are returned to Canada for all their post-operative care, she added.
South Niagara Health Care Corp. is hoping to develop an initiative similar to the Windsor-Detroit partnership to benefit south Niagara and beyond, allowing easier access to medical services in nearby U.S. cities. It would, however, ultimately require approval from the Ministry of Health and LHIN.
“If someone is very sick with a heart attack, you should send them to Buffalo as the closest hospital,” stressed Dr. David Janicke of Kaleida Health.
“It’s extremely important to get your patients … your citizens to an acute care hospital as quickly as possible and if there isn’t one close by, nothing could be better than a hospital that’s 20 or 30 minutes away.”
Hopkins said the Buffalo facility also allows medical specialists to work more closely together to offer better patient care.
He recalled one patient undergoing surgery for a stroke.
“(The patient) had a cardiac arrest on the table. In the old days six months ago, that would have been a Chinese fire drill. We would have been scrambling to find a cardiologist, but now within a few seconds we had two cardiologists in the room barking out orders and taking care of the heart while we went ahead and fixed the head.""

Now, we see this Toronto Star Oct.18, 2012 report revealing that Dalton McGuinty was holding secret meetings in his Queen's Park office just last week, with his labour allies and union buddies - including Linda Haslam-Stroud, president of the Ontario Nurses Association.

So... umm.. health care isn't political, eh Deb? That's your patronizing position??

You see, to Health Minister Deb, when her Liberals are in power, healthcare is magically apolitical; yet, when harris-hatin' Liberals were in opposition, healthcare was always political - and, of course, it still is: Ontarians have been forced by politicians into a single-payer, state-run health monopoly, where patients have no choice. The National Post carried a good editorial "Dalton McGuinty - successful politician, failed leader" (Oct.16, 2012), about Dalton McGuinty's resignation, which McGuinty had announced late in the day on Oct.15.

The Post's editorial nicely summarized McGuinty's years of lies and obfuscation, concluding that the worst thing that Dalton did was abandon the people of Caledonia.

It was no doubt a disgrace - an utter disgusting disgrace, what the cowardly McGuinty did (as a practising "Liberal", practicing in a supposedly-"just society") to the people of Caledonia, to Ontarians, and to the notion of rule of law.

However, I don't think Caledonia was on the same level of deceit, callousness and negligence, when compared to how McGuinty's lies in 2008 about Ontario's C.diff crisis 'being under control' (when it clearly wasn't) directly precipitated the 2011 C.diff outbreak in Niagara, which killed at least three dozen patients.

What McGuinty did in Caledonia (which came to a head in 2006) was bereft of leadership, and morally vacuous; but what McGuinty later did in propagating his C.diff lies...
 (...to hide his health-monopoly from a public inquiry in 2008 - a parallel tactic with the similar scenario in Oct. 2012: run, hide, and buy time when the flashlight is about to be shone on McGuinty's despotic, secretive activities!)
...was criminal, resulting in death.

McGuinty, in 2008, had an obligation - as the unapologetic head-cheerleader of a despotic political ideology which forced a single-payer state-run health monopoly upon Ontarians - to ensure that his state-run monopoly was publicly scrutinized, especially when hundreds of Ontarians had ALREADY died in C.difficile outbreaks throughout the province, under McGuinty's and George Smitherman's watch.

McGuinty, in 2008, personally perpetrated the lie that his Liberal-run health monopoly did NOT need any public scrutiny or inquiry into the C.diff deaths, claiming (falsely) that everything was under control, that the Liberals and their monopolist health organization knew all there was to know about C. difficile, so no troublesome inquiries were needed.

This was what Dalton McGuinty, Ontario's Premier Liberal liar, told us in 2008. This was way worse than what McGuinty did in Caledonia: this led to deaths in Niagara.

If the National Post had remembered McGuinty's 2008 C.difficile lies, then the Post would have been able to add a new and profound perspective to the significance of what happened in Caledonia: it was in Caledonia that McGuinty learned that he could act as a despot; where he learned that there were no serious repercussions to his (non)actions/decisions; where he learned that he would not be held to account for the repercussions of his "policies".

Caledonia crystallized in McGuinty's mind the reality that he and his Liberals could dismiss, lie to, and steam-roller over the people of Ontario, time and time again, fiasco after FLICKING fiasco.

Caledonia was a precursor which emboldened disgusting Dalton's political pathology, later helping this serial liar to non-chalantly create secret G20 laws, or condemn future patients to death, in order to protect his morally-bankrupt health-monopoly from scrutiny.

McGuinty should have been stopped and held to account at Caledonia.

Ontarians let McGuinty get away with it, for far too long.

And sadly, the people of Niagara still let Liberal MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor get away with it, as well.

“The minister should seriously consider tendering his resignation for making untrue statements to the House,” she said.

I’d go even farther.

Senior members of the cabinet and the premier have been caught red-faced and red-handed.

It shouldn’t just be Bentley who takes the rap, it should be the entire government.

The opposition parties should put forward a confidence motion saying in light of the Liberals’ disgraceful behaviour, the government no longer enjoys the confidence of the House.

Bring them down and have an election. It’s the only way to root out this shameless opportunism.

Let’s clean house once and for all.

How can we trust these people again?

This money was wasted purely out of political self-interest.

The OPA was created, supposedly, as a way to make arm’s length decisions about where to site power plants.

What a joke that turned out to be. Bentley has already admitted that the decision to cancel the Mississauga plant was taken by the Liberal campaign team during the election campaign.

How arm’s length is that?

Now the government has the gall to tell us they had no way of knowing the OPA was going to release more documents.

How stupid do they think we are?

This is the same government that took us all for a ride for millions of dollars in the Ornge air ambulance scandal. It’s blew $1 billion on ehealth.

And it’s the same government that told three-year-old tot Liam Reid that we can’t afford the $5,000 per treatment it will cost for sight-saving surgery for him in Detroit. We can’t afford to pay for Brantford teen Erika Crawford to get life-saving surgery in Maryland.

We don’t have enough money to save a child’s life, but when it comes to saving Liberal butts in an election, we’ve got cash to burn.

McGuinty should spend the weekend considering his future.

He could do the right thing, take responsibility for this mess — and resign.

Impeach McGuinty? Why let Ontario's Liberals off that easily?

In Let's impeach the premier (Hamilton Spectator, Oct.6, 2012) Stephen Skyvington wrote

"Like Brian Mulroney before him, Dalton McGuinty seems determined to take his party down with him

Dalton McGuinty is lucky he’s the Premier of Ontario and not the President of the United States. If he were the President, we’d all be calling for his head and Congress would be preparing Articles of Impeachment.
But as we all know, McGuinty isn’t president, and we don’t have any articles of impeachment or a Congress to prepare them. And after receiving a strong endorsement from his own party at their convention in late September, McGuinty is giving every indication he intends to lead the Liberals into the next election.
All of which boggles the mind, quite frankly. Not since former prime minister Brian Mulroney has there been a politician so vilified as Dalton McGuinty. Type the words “Liberal scandals” into any search engine and you’ll be bombarded by the premier’s legacy. It’s actually quite sobering to go through the list. It would almost be amusing if it wasn’t so tragic.
We’ve had the eHealth scandal. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming scandal. The Samsung deal scandal. The Eco Tax scandal. The Ornge scandal. I could go on and on — one website lists 30 different scandals before running out of gas.
Then we have the granddaddy of them all — the Power Plant scandal. Or as I like to call it, the Seat Saver scandal. For those who haven’t been paying attention, the Liberals announced they were stopping construction on two power plants in order to save some Liberal seats in danger of being wrestled away by the PC or New Democratic parties last year. The seats were saved, although McGuinty’s Liberals were held to a minority government, after having won two consecutive majorities in 2003 and 2007. The cost for this disgraceful, politically motivated decision is $230 million and counting.
Surprisingly, McGuinty has chosen to throw his very capable Energy Minister (and former attorney general) Chris Bentley under the bus. Not only is Bentley taking the heat for this one, he could actually go to jail if found in contempt of the legislature. To his credit, the premier did eventually try to defend his minister, albeit lukewarmly, saying: “These attacks, these threats, this heavy-handed, unprecedented process — using the full force of the legislation against one MPP — these are decidedly not in keeping with the standards and traditions we seek to uphold.”
One question Liberal supporters and backbenchers must be asking is: “How did it come to this?” How indeed. My opinion, as a longtime political operative and former political staffer, is that the Liberals (like all parties who win back-to-back majorities) were the victims of their own success. To use a sports analogy, they started reading (and believing) their own press clippings. Shortly after their second term began, a rot began to settle in. Once that happens, deception and corruption can’t be far behind.
Or to use another sports analogy ... if Dalton McGuinty was the coach of the Leafs, Raptors, Argos or Blue Jays, the fans would be singing in unison by now: “Goodbye, Dalton. Goodbye, Dalton. Goodbye, Dalton. We’re glad to see you go!”
The premier did have the opportunity to make a graceful exit during the Liberal convention last month. But he chose instead to stick around.
Am I surprised? Not one bit.
I’ve never written about this before, but in 1996 then-MPP Dalton McGuinty asked me to drop by his office. I was working for the Ontario Medical Association at the time and Dalton was reaching out to potential supporters. He told me that he was thinking about running for leader of the Liberal Party of Ontario and wanted to know what I thought about that. Nobody gave him a chance. Everybody underestimated him. It was hard to take him seriously. I can’t remember my exact response, but I’m sure I told him to go for it. After all, what difference would it make? It wasn’t like he was going to win.
Now, 16 years later, I don’t expect to be receiving a call from Premier McGuinty asking my advice. But if I did get such a call, I’d tell him it was time. To go. Now."

McGuinty's Liberals, under George Smitherman, hid from a public inquiry in 2008, while giving Ontarians promises (falsehoods, we would later learn) that the Liberals 'knew all there was to know about C. diff'; that there was no need to 'waste money' on any damn inquiry; that Ontarians didn't need to worry; that Dalton McGuinty and his Liberal gang of serial liars had 'everything under control'...

'Under control' - until 2011, when dozens more patients died in Niagara in another C.difficile outbreak... [under circumstances which should have been previously anticipated and prepared for] ...had McGuity's Liberals not covered-up their health-monopoly from public scrutiny back in 2008.

Dalton McGuinty blatantly lied in 2008 when he publicly stated that Ontario's "hospitals now know how to protect against the spread of C. difficile" .
If McGuinty's state-monopoly-run hospitals were prepared, then, where was this 'protection' in 2011, for Niagara's C. diff patient-victims??!

No-one (...especially from the Jim Bradley-Friendly St.Catharines Standard..!) ever bothered asking McGuinty to explain his false and negligent 2008 reasurrance - even when more patients began dying in Niagara in 2011!!

Maybe Skyvington or some other Spectator reporter can re-examine the direct connection between what McGuinty's secretive Liberals did in 2008, and how that arrogant decision subsequently - and detrimentally - impacted the C. difficile outbreak and patient deaths in Niagara, only 3 years later, in 2011.

After all, Hamilton Spectator reporters Naomi Powell and Joan Walters had already begun this investigation back on July 4, 2008 (...perhaps Skyvington can read it, and ponder this story's sad, long, deadly arc (which is still unresolved today, in 2012) while the Liberal perpetrators walk around scot-free, still in power...) A lot more has been revealed about McGuinty's operating procedures since 2008 - so, where is the follow up on this story?

You can bet that no Niagara press, such as the St.Catharines Standard, will bother looking into that! If they can't somehow blame harris, or Diefenbaker (or Mulroney - eh, Skyvington?!) then, they're not interested. The point is not to make Liberals look bad.
The local Niagara Liberal MPP, the disgusting Dishonourable Jim Bradley, literally disappeared from public view  in 2011 while scores of C. diff patients were dying in Bradley's own Liberal-monopoly-underfunded hospitals.

May 29, 2012, brought us another health-care story on the front page of the St.Catharines Standard ("Province cuts fees, docs close Sat. clinic"), with reporter Grant Lafleche actively not bothering to provide any quotes, comments, reactions - any response whatsoever - to this story, from Good Ole Liberal MPP Jim 'I hate doctors' Bradley!!
Was Ole Jimmy even contacted by the Standard to provide a response? Lafleche didn't bother telling us! Did Ole Jimmy refuse to comment? Who knows - the editor didn't say! Or did the Standard simply decide to protect Liberal MPP Bradley, and allow Jimmy yet another free pass from scrutiny, on a subject potentially unflattering to Jimmy`s Liberal policies?!

CBC protects Liberal Jim Bradley from C. difficile scrutiny

Funny how the CBC's  television show Marketplace, on Mar.23, 2012, was about filthy hospitals - focusing mainly on Ontario, and in particularly on hospitals in Hamilton and in Niagara.

Kevin Smith (who is also the NHS's Supervisor) was interviewed about the CBC's claims that his hospitals were apparently not maintaining a thorough cleaning regimen. Smith squirmed slightly, but weaseled out of any responsibilty for what he was shown by the CBC reporter.

Of course, the Niagara Health System was notorious for its deadly 2011-2012 C. difficile outbreaks - yet AMAZINGLY (hahaha) the CBC reporter DID NOT BOTHER to mention or interview the monopoly-pushing Liberals who are in charge of health care in Niagara: MPP's Jim Bradley, or Kim Craitor!!

The CBC focused on Smith, but avoided asking any questions whatsoever of the Liberal hacks Craitor and Bradley, in whose ridings' hospitals the CBC carried out some of their investigation!!

Smith was appointed BY Craitor and Bradley's Liberals!

Why didn't the CBC bother to ask the Liberal MPP's in Niagara not only the very same questions which the CBC asked of Smith, but also then ask Kimmy'n'Jimmy to comment on their own appointee/employee Smith's answers?!

[closing 30 hospital beds won't affect seniors, Ole Secret-G20-law Bartolucci laughably says!] ...we also see how Disingenuous Deb, McGuinty's ignorant/incompetent health minister, still refuses to resign after the release of auditor McCarter's report on the ORNGE scandal.


What's more, McGuinty refuses to do the right thing, and fire Matthews. The waste of more millions of tax dollars is obviously not of any concern to McGuinty: this is peanuts to the billions McGuinty's Liberal fools have already squandered!

Why doesn't McGuinty explain why burn unit patients are exported to States?

These patients are normally in need of a burn unit or neurology bed and must be flown to the U.S. for care as there is no space in an Ontario hospital". Only now, as the Drummond report is being drummed into our heads, can we finally and clearly see the Liberal Nanny-state lies which Jim Bradley, Kim Craitor, and Dalton McGuinty's Ontario Liberals had been spinning as truths prior to the 2011 Ontario election.

Either McGuinty's Liberals are truly incompetent and ignorant of  how their ideology has single-handedly ruined Ontario's economy over the last nine years; or, they were cognizant of their Liberal-led destruction all along, and simply didn't care, hoping to foist the repercussions of their pipe dream Liberal ponzi schemes onto some future government.

Niagara C.difficile deaths in 2011 directly attributable to McGuinty Liberal negligence in 2008

It was interesting to read two stories on pg.A4 of the Feb.10, 2012 St.Catharines Standard: "C.difficile outbreak ends at Niagara Falls hospital" by Alison Langley, and "Other systems turn to NHS to fight superbug" by Grant Lafleche. Somehow, no Liberals were dare interviewed in either story!

Langley wrote about how "enhanced infection prevention  protocols" have now been "embedded into our daily routine" throughout the NHS in the "last several months".

Isn't that great to hear: too bad almost 40 patients had to die before McGuinty's Liberal-run, LHIN-supervised health-monopoly franchise in Niagara got its act together.

Why weren't these newly-found procedures implemented and 'embedded' as routine protocols several years ago?

Can one imagine the smug outrage, the sanctimonious uproar, had such blatant incompetency occurred in a private hospital? All the executives would be raked over the coals, or worse; yet the perpetrators of the C. diff laissez-faire attitude in Niagara - the Liberal monopolists who direct and fund the LHIN and NHS - have gotten away without recrimination.

Debbie Sevenpifer had been the left's favourite target/scapegoat for everything which was wrong in Niagara, never mind that the same kind of systemic incompetence was playing out elsewhere throughout Liberal monopolist Ontario. Then, after Sevenpifer was canned, and a series of deadly C.diff outbreaks occurred in Niagara in 2011, suddenly, the left's favourite boogeyman - 'harris' was being blamed - for forming the NHS!! 

Strangely - somehow - after eight years of unfettered monopolist majority rule under liberal McGuinty - - the local press were spinning the yarn that the Liberals HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT !!!!!!!!!

No Liberals were ever hurt during the deadly C.diff outbreak which they helped perpetrate in Niagara. How's that, you ask?

Well, let's do ask: let's ask (...seeing that Niagara's local liberal-besotted press won't...) local Niagara MPP's Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor why their Liberal majority government hid and quashed having a public C. difficile inquiry in 2008 - when hundreds of C. diff patients were already dying throughout Ontario!

Certainly, no reporter from the St.Catharines Standard or Niagara This Week has ever bothered asking our local Liberal scumbags Kimmy'N'Jimmy about their direct complicity in Niagara's 2011 C. difficile horror.

No one has dared to ask Jim Bradley or Kim Craitor why their Liberal government had lied to Ontarians in 2008 - despite the already-then hundreds of Ontario C.diff deaths - by telling us that we didn't need a public inquiry, because the Liberals knew all there was to know about C. diff!

We were told by McGuinty's Lying Liberals to just wash our hands, and that everything was going to be OK; then, Smitherman, Craitor, and Bradley washed their hands of the problem, and continued on their merry monopolist despotic way.

And so, three years later, in 2011, several C.difficile outbreaks again brought deathly havoc in Niagara - yet no one asked why a floundering NHS was for all intents and purposes, completely caught off guard!!

No one from the Liberal-butt-licking Niagara press bothered to ask Liberal exrcementalist Jim Bradley about why the NHS was unprepared for C.diff in 2011, seeing that just 3 years earlier, in 2008, Bradley's Liberals were hiding from a public C.diff inquiry, while (fraudulently, we now see) telling us that all was OK in their health monopoly.

The Bradley-bootlickers at the St.Catharines Standard - to their disgusting, ever-lasting shame - did not once bother to carry out an interview with their Liberal buddy Jim Bradley about the killer C. diff outbreak, as it was occurring, in 2011, in Jim's own riding.

As the Niagara C.diff patient death toll rose through out the summer of 2011, the St.Catharines Standard, instead of covering Jim Bradley, disgustingly covered-up for Jim Bradley.

So now we get spin from the Standard's Lafleche, telling us glowingly how - get this - the NHS is now a glorious healthcare beacon, "a provincial leader in infection control"!! But: where was this leadership last year - or, in 2008?? Lafleche haha couldn't bother getting into that!

So, only now - after nearly 40 dead C.diff patients - the NHS suddenly 'finds' new methods and protocols to implement, suddenly becoming the poster-child for infection-control for the whole of Ontario?!?

Had Ontario not been deprived by McGuinty's secretive Liberals of a public C.diff inquiry in 2008, such infection protocols and procedures would have already been publicly discussed, and instituted, everywhere in Ontario!! Liberal ass-kissing 'fake news'-spreaders in the media refused to mention that.

Now, we are being told how the NHS is a leader in C.diff infection control - something which McGuinty's Liberals had consciously - negligently - refused to consider in 2008! Come on!!

Now Lafleche joyfully points out how the Bluewater health system is looking to the NHS for advice!

But, why didn't Bluewater get their infection control protocols FROM McGUINTY'S LIBERALS, back in 2008, by way of a public C. diff inquiry, instead of now looking to an equally-flustered NHS in 2012???! Not surprisingly, Lafleche heh heh couldn't be bothered to ask any Liberal about that. (How about another urinalism award to Lafleche, eh?!)

This all should have been dealt with and implemented in 2008!! McGuinty's secretive Liberals, we now clearly see, gambled that their bare minimum efforts, along with their smarmy political spin and their untouchable majority-gov't.-fiat, would get them through. These Liberal health monopolists gambled with Ontarians' lives, and lives were consequentially lost.

There is a direct, unmistakable link between Jim Bradley and Kim Craitor's lying Liberals smugly quashing the C.diff inquiry in 2008, to Niagara's subsequent horrible summer of C.diff death three years later in 2011-12.

We found out, only recently, that the NHS didn't even have a full time infection control specialist on staff!! Yet, no one has bothered to ask Jimmy'N'Kimmy why their Liberals obviously had allowed this to occur. The Liberal-appointed LHIN cozily sits quiet on the issue. Apparently, under McGuinty, nobody's to blame, for anything.

Now it is being trumpeted how the NHS  - as Ontario's newly supreme "leader" in infection control - has suddenly 'discovered' protocols and procedures - which were already regularly in use in U.S. hospitals!!

Once again: why then weren't these ALREADY known and implemented in Ontario by McGuinty's single-payer-pushing Liberals back in 2008, when hundreds of Ontarians had already been killed, and when there was a chance to prevent further unnecessary deaths??

Why are such tools as gels and UV lighting only now being 'discovered' in Liberal-monopoly-run Ontario??
Why is it now up to the NHS to muddle around for solutions (and for Bluewater and perhaps other Ontario health systems, to follow the NHS) when this should have all been previously studied and solutions implemented Ontario-wide, via a public inquiry, in 2008??

Ontario Liberal Jim Bradley's wind turbine deceptions

Trish Crang Singhampton wrote in "Spinning tales about government's honesty regarding wind turbines" (Barrie Examiner, Feb.12, 2012):

"Both Premier Dalton McGuinty and Environment Minister Jim Bradley have been repeatedly quoted as saying that the setback requirements in Ontario are 'some of the toughest in the world' and 'the best in North America'.

Contrary to these claims, there are a multitude of townships and counties in the United States, other areas of Canada and various countries around the world, with setback regulations and wind ordinances that are clearly stricter than those in Ontario.
I believe that Mr. McGuinty and Mr. Bradley are intentionally trying to mislead and deceive the people of Ontario. Their statements are simply not true.
I feel it is vitally important that Ontario residents are aware of this. It is a clear indication that the government's concerns are for the wind company's profits, and not the safety and wellbeing of the residents of this province.
There are many more ordinances with setbacks listed neighbouring property lines that are far stricter than Ontario's regulation of turbine height, less the blade length.
There are also several international regulations that have further setbacks.
Obviously, these countries place the safety of their citizens paramount to the profit of the wind companies. Some countries are enacting setbacks as far as two kilometres from people's homes due to emerging studies indicating that there are, in fact, health, noise and safety issues associated with turbines.
Another area of serious concern is the exemption from setbacks for homes located on the properties that participate in the wind turbine project.
Theses homes are not subject to the minimum 550-metre distance from turbines and are often in much closer proximity. Children, the elderly and pregnant women living in these homes are exposed, each and every day, to much higher levels of noise and vibration emanating from the turbines.
To my knowledge, the Ontario government has never conducted any studies on the short-or long-term effect that this will have on these vulnerable family members who are being exposed to noise levels far in excess of the regulations.

Why is there no law that requires that the children or other family members living in these homes be protected?

Are the children in these homes acceptable collateral damage? Only the Ontario government can answer as to why it has clearly chosen to violate the rights of these children and family members, and not protect them in any way.
The simple truth is that Ontario's regulated distances from industrial wind turbines are woefully inadequate and sub-par to many other jurisdictions, and fail to address the issues of health and safety for the nearby residents.
The issues facing the rural residents of Ontario are far from being properly addressed or resolved. Ontario's chief medical officer of health did not conduct evidence-based scientific research, when it was concluded that there is no 'direct causal link between wind turbine noise and adverse health effects'.
Not one part of the May 2010 report reviews the present-day experiences of those in the municipalities in Ontario who have dealt with the impacts of sound from existing wind turbines. Many other international studies have concluded the opposite findings to this report and outline the impacts wind turbine sound has on people further than Ontario's regulated setbacks, not to mention the impact turbines have on property values, along with shadow flicker and visual pollution.
As the setback distance in Ontario is measured only from houses, it can limit neighbouring property owners from utilizing portions of their own properties, resulting in what is basically an illegal easement on adjacent properties.
Virtually all turbines being installed in Ontario are in productive agricultural and rural areas. Yet the setbacks in Ontario do not take into account the proximity to livestock structures (barns, stables, etc.). These animals are being put directly in harm's way in the event of a turbine fire or structural failure.
The loss of a livestock building containing farm animals would be financially catastrophic for most farmers.
I think the time is well overdue that the deception and dishonesty of the Ontario government with respect to industrial wind turbines be exposed and that the people of Ontario learn the truth about the inadequate regulations that are seriously affecting the rural citizens of this province and their livelihoods.
Regardless of one's position on wind turbines, we all have a right to know the truth about the lack of honesty and concern our government has for us."
